Chapter 1

Diagon Alley- the place where all and everything is found…

The narrow, yet crooked alleyway full of the best wizardry supplies in London was buzzing with constant chatter of a busy crowd. Children were running about peering through glass windows to gaze admiringly upon the latest broomsticks, Quidditch equipment, robes and of course the necessary stationary required for the up coming new school year.

Parents were walking about glancing at book lists here and there while they searched for the appropriate store, while their children ran about buzzing with laughter with their school friends. Those that were new to this world walked around the alleyway utterly stunned at the sight they held before them. Some were even so overjoyed at the thought of their first year at a wizardry school that they stayed side by side with their guardians, helping them search for their equipment. The Owl Emporium was adding to the noise, with their owls constant hooting as they too searched for their new masters or mistresses.

Nonetheless it was still a beautiful day.

A crowd of shopping wizards or witches weren’t going to stop me from accomplishing my goals. Brusquely I made my way through the crowed un-noticed. Weaving in and out of people seemed to be the best trick of getting somewhere a lot quicker than normal. I was already fifteen minutes late, and could certainly not afford to be even more. The reason being was pretty simple. My father would kill me.

I had promised to visit him and my mother today at the local ice-cream parlor, and, knowing my father well, I knew he did not tolerate lateness at all. He already had an automatic bad taste towards me compared to my brothers and sister due to my inheritance. This meant that the slightest things could instantly send him to tick. Lateness was one thing he tolerated from no one---not even my other siblings. The fact that he hated me more was only going to add to his reaction.

Risking a glance at the address he had given me to meet them at I turned the corner only to collide into something hard enough to knock me off my feet. Landing hard on my bottom, I let out a small yelp while I kept a death clutch on the address. Now who was the stupid git who had placed a pole at the very corner of a street? I asked as I dusted my grazed fingers and focused on the thing before me.

What I saw only shocked me further. A pair of black polished shoes stood tall before me, followed by legs encased in black pants. The end of a black cloak fluttered around them. I knew at that instant I was doomed. Now that I had coiled into my father, I might as well start signing my will.

“Severus, stop being so rude and held the lady up will you,” spoke a smooth and silky voice that promised pleasurable activities beneath the sheets.

A leather gloved hand suddenly appeared in my view. Normally I would have gotten back onto my feet without any aid, but the relief of the person not being my father had shocked me.

I swallowed hard before reacting out towards the glove hand. The leather was soft to touch, deceiving in its appearance. The hand beneath it was masculine and firm as it gently closed around my fingers and helped me to my feet.

“I’m terribly sorry my lady,” the voice came again as the hand moved to dust away invisible substances off my shoulders.

“It’s alrigh,” I whispered as I nodded to the strangers and turned to walk around them. I had not looked at their faces, nor wanted to. The thing on my mind was reaching my father before he found me.

“You leave so soon my lady, and without proper introduction. Have you considered our apology not worthy,” the silk voice came again as it stepped in front of my view to block me.

Sighing and smiling weakly I took a deep breath and looked up at the two strangers. My breath hitched at their faces. The one addressing me was angelic to look upon. The long blonde hair that reached mid back was tied neatly back to reveal beautiful blue eyes and a rosy luscious lipped mouth. He was truly exquisite. The man standing beside him was completely opposite. Unlike the angel look, he appeared as the dark sinner of the too, the most dangerous one out of the two with dark eyes, shoulder length straight hair and pale white skin. The sneer he carried across his face was fearful to look upon.

“Lucius Malfoy,” the angelic one spoke as he reached for my hand and bowed politely before placing a chaste kiss across it’s back. “And who might a beauty such as yourself be?”

“Malita Courtez, a pleasure. Do excuse my lack of addressing you more formally; I have a rather urgent appointment to get to.”

“Courtez did you say?” asked Lucius. His lips curled upwards to form a proud smirk. “Would you happen to be related to Spartricas Courtez?”

“Yes,\" I smiled politely, though inwardly I was cringing at the mention of my father’s name. “The man you speak of is my father. Do you know him?”

“Well of course my dear. He is a very powerful and wealthy man. Pureblood to the core, the family name dates back centuries. I believe it was one of the first wizards to have existed,” he said proudly.

“Yes, and I believe the Malfoy’s were as well, sir.” I nodded politely. Though still the though on my mind was the fact I was now twenty minutes late.

“Correct. It is very pleasing to hear such knowledge from a charming young lady such as yourself.” He grinned, bowling his upper body slightly.

“Thank you. Forgive me for having to leave, but I am to meet my father at an ice cream parlor, and I am late. I must go.”

“No need to apologize my dear. It is us who should apologize to you. Perhaps we can make up for it by assisting you there.”

The dark man standing beside him snorted, before his lips thinned into a sneer. “I have no time for courting women Lucius. We are here on business.” He spoke sharply with a voice that was strong enough to cut through steal.

Lucius sighed as he tilted his head fractions and regarded his companion. The walking stick he held was resting firmly 2 inches in front of his feet. Both hands now rested on its silver snakes head. “It’s always about business with you Severus, never any fun,” he mocked.

The man snorted again and turned away, crossing his arms. “You bore me Lucius. I’ll be in the Knocktern Alley doing what we are meant to be doing.” And with that, he walked brusquely away.

“Forgive him for his behavior. Perhaps we can talk more another time. Please do tell your father that I say hello,” he paused, “although I shall see him tonight. Anyway, Good day my lady.” And with a tilt of his head he turned and walked away after his friend.

“Malita …” A cold and sharp as ice voice called. My blood froze upon hearing it. What I dreaded was now occurring. Swallowing hard, I gather my strength and turned to face my opponent.

“Father,” I spoke softly, my lips trembling as I curtsied
