Chapter 2: Naive Little Potter

The crowds were cheering; the wind was blowing in his face. To Harry this was heaven. Soaring in the sky, catching sight of the golden snitch and winning the world cup with England. Adrenaline at its peak and plenty of smiling fans, watching his every move, this was all he could have hoped for. Once he had captured the snitch with his right hand he could hear the crowds chanting his name...'Potter! Potter!..."

'POTTER! I WILL NOT SHOUT YOU AGAIN!'

As all dreams do, they come to an end. This dream however ended to abruptly for Harry's taste. How he longed to be with the Weasley's for the rest of the summer. It then dawned on him summer was nearly over. Soon he would be back at Hogwarts. Home.

After hauling himself out of bed, his senses finally came to him. This year would be extremely different, no more fireplace chats with Sirius. The few moments of waking up from a pleasant dream seemed long ago as he remembered his late godfather. He had felt so hollow since returning from his fifth year. It was now his last year and his grief had only just mellowed out a bit. His fifth year was the definitive year, in which he fell right in to Voldermort's clutches. At least this year he didn't have to worry bout the insane snake like man trying to take his life. As Harry stood staring at the mirror in front of him, he heard faint footsteps heading for his door. Harry did not move. Moving was pointless.

'POTTER! YOU SELFISH CHILD! GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW, YOU RUDDY PAIN IN THE BACKSIDE!' Uncle Vernon bellowed again. How long he'd been shouting for Harry hadn't the faintest idea. He decided however it would be best not to infuriate his uncle anymore and he pushed his door open to find several people gaping at him.

'Wotcha Harry! Nice boxers!' Came the cheerful bouncy voice of Tonks, behind her stood Mad-Eye Moody who just nodded. Harry blushed when he heard Tonks commenting on his underwear.

Within the next hour and the help of Tonks, Harry was packed and ready to leave. This was a joyful day on most parts. This was the day Harry would be leaving Privet Drive, never to return. This was the day that the Dursley's would be getting rid of that ruddy 'freak'. It was good on all parts.

As Harry, Tonks and Moody left, Uncle Vernon stood next to his car just in case anything was to happen to it. Harry grinned at him and gave him a saric wic wave. Tonks stuck out her tongue. Harry's Aunt Petunia refused to be in the same area as Tonks, her hair being the main cause for offence. As Moody walked past Vernon he kept his magical eye on him. The eye startled Vernon; he started to move backwards, tripping over next doors cat. Tonks and Harry added insult to injury by bursting out in hysterics. Moody just stood there with a wry grin on his face.

'Nice to see we can have a lark about this waiting on Potter business!' Came a dry sarcastic voice from behind them. The trio spun round to come face to face with Severus Snape.

'What are You doing here Snape?' Growled Moody

'Obviously I'm needed, Dumbledore said to leave and NOT make a disturbance. We wouldn't want another dustbin moment now would we?' Sneered Snape. Tonks rolled her eyes and clouted them both round the head, earning a deadly glare from both involved. Tonks started to walk off, followed by a quiet Harry. Snape stood glaring at Harry, who glared back.

Harry eventually found the courage to speak, finding Tonke the easiest to talk to.

'Why have you come to pick me up? I'm not in danger any more?' Asked Harry, hoping that only Tonks could hear him. However Snape overheard and didn't want to miss a chance to make Harry feel silly.

'Dear, Naive little Potter. Cleary you haven’t been reading the paper.'

Harry glared at Snape, who in return smirked at him. Tonks was about to explain what Snape meant but the man himself started to speak. Not wanting to annoy him, Tonks stayed muted.

'Potter even you surely are not daft enough to believe Malfoy senior would stay in Azkaban for too long? Ah it appears you were daft enough, maybe you need to spend summers with that know-it-all Grang-'

'Enough Snape, Potter we'll explain at head quarters' Growled Moody, Tonks just nodded in response. Harry was startled at the idea of returning to Grimmuald Place. He hadn't stepped foot there since before Sirius died.

'H-Head quarters? I'm not going there' shouted Harry. Snape smirked at him. Harry was waiting for an insult but it never came. The last thing he saw was a wand raised at his head.
