Chapter 2 - News And Home Truths


"Vic!"

You mumbled and saw a face coming towards her, It was Lily Evans

"Good morning" she said In a cheery voice

"What's good about It?"

"New day! New year"

You sat up and groaned

"Im going down so "I'll see you downstairs" Lily said leaving

"Right!" you yelled back

You got washed and dressed and brushed your teeth, after 5 minutes she walked down the stone steps, you entered the common room to find a sandy haired boy reading a book

"Hi" the boy said glancing up

"Hey Remus"

"You look tired" Remus asid seriously

"Not just look, am" you said

"You coming down to breakfast?" you ask Remus

"Sure" Remus replied putting his book down and getting up

They entered the great hall and saw their friends sitting down eating their breakfast

"Wanna sit with us?" Remus asked

"Sure, thanks"

They took a seat beside Jameetereter and James.
Sirius was stuffing his face was Sausage, Bacon and Eggs. "Vicki!" Lily said running up to her

"Evans! My Flower!" James said

"Bog off Potter"

"Charming!" he mumbled

"You coming over with me?" Lily asked

"Er, Remus asked me to sit here, sorry"

"Thats ok" Lily said walking away

"What have we first Remus?" you ask

"Charms"

"Ugh, well Its better than Potions I guess"

After a few minutes the Owls came In with the post, you recognised a large tawny owl, It was your fathers Owl "Snowcraft!" you said taking the letter off Its leg

On the front there was writing, not where It was addressed to, at the top left hand corner with the writing *Do not open this, read alone*

You wondered what was so secretive, but you got up straight away. Remus touched your hand and then realised what he did and blushed "Where you going?"
"I'll be back In a few minutes you say hurrying away

Vicki slowly opened the letter anxious but curious

I thought I'd tell you before your mother did, I have left her, do not blame yourself, this Is not your fault, It's hers, first of all your sister Is not your sister, you are not related to her at all, she had an affair, she never told me who she had tffaiffair with, until today I found out, I will never return to her but I will to you, I think It best to tell you who It Is, I dont want you to be scared, frightened, I want you to know the truth! You suddenly ran to the fire and thew the letter In the ashes, her face was In shock, she could not cry, no tears came out, her heart started to race, she could hardly breath, suddenly shll tll to the floor unable to move

The next thing You knew that she was In the hospital wing, It was desterted, apart from a boy sitting next to you, a gorgeous sandy haired boy, who was It? It was Remus who you has liked for years. "Hey" Remus said "Are you ok Vic?" he asked "No" Vicki breathed "No, Im not"

"What hapenned?" you asked

"I found you lying unconcius In the common room"

"What hapenned Vic?"

Suddely you burst Into tears "Its too awful to say Remus, I cant even believe It myself"

Remus looked at her and hugged her "You can tell me, but I'll understand If you dont want to"

"No, I will, after all you told me about your Lycanthropy. but please dont hate me"

"I could never hate you Vicki, and hey you said Lycanthropy."

"Hmm, , fo, for once I can actually say It"

Remus gently touched your soft skin "You can trust me" Remus whispered

"So thats It" you said to Remus when she had told him everything

"Oh Vicki" Remus said In sorrow, he hugged her again

"Im fine, really I am"

"Mr Lupin, why did you not tell me she was awake"

"S-sorry"

"How are you feeling" Madam Pomfrey asked

"Fine" Remus answered

"Not you" she screeched, you giggled, Remus blushed

"I'll j-just go then"

Remus got to leave and you grabbed his hand "Hey, thanks" you said smiling

Madam Pomfrey just glared at hRemuRemus bent down and kissed you on the cheek "Bye"

"Drink this"

"Ugh" you said gulping down the nasty potion

"Im fine"

"Vic what hapenned?"

"I cant tell you"

"We've been best mates for years, does that mean nothing?"

You looked at Lily "Fine"

After telling Lily everything you felt like a hole had cut through her heart

"What about your father?"

"He said he'd let me know where hes staying"

Your dreams were haunted, she wondered what would become of Haylie, would she turn out like her father? or would she be worse? You had to do something, but what? what could a 17 year old do?


You awoke and heard a hissing noice "Whos there?" you looked around the room and saw nothing, nothing but a snake coming towards yu. "Hi" you said to the Snake "Hello" It replied slithering closly over to the bed "Whats your name?" you asked the Snake "Thondor" It replied "Where did you come from?" you asked, the Snake looked at you "Nowhere special" It hissed, the Snake began to slither away "No dont go, please talk to me" but It was too late, the Snake had left

Youthen fell back to sleep
