Chapter 2

Last chapter:

He started on the top of the list cooking dinner. He walked into the kitchen and started to chop and cook dinner for his ‘family.’ Aunt Marge would be getting there later that night and she would be bringing her dog with her for the summer. Harry so just wanted to blow the thing up. He would have a great laugh at that site. About an hour later he had food set on the table and went to tell them that dinner was done...

Walking into the other room his Uncle turned his face and looked at Harry, wanting to know why Harry was bothering them.

“Umm...dinner is ready Uncle Vernon.”

“Right. It better be good because if it’s not we might have to rethink about feeding you at all this summer,” his Uncle yelled, getting up with Harry’s Aunt and cousin to go to the dinner table. Harry knew it was a good meal. He had been cooking since he was tall enough to reach the stove. He watched as he finished cleaning the dishes he has used to cook the food as they the family ate. Dudley talked about what had happened in school that past year and all the friends he had. Dudley had lost a bit of weight but he still looked like a whale.

“That’s my boy, always making your dad proud. Not like that little freak we have living here. Won’t ever amount to anything in my book. Bad eggs that one is.” Harry looked over to see his Aunt nod in agreement, beaming at her son like he was the second coming. They finished all the food, got up from the table, and left the room to watch a TV program that Dudley wanted to see. Harry picked up the dishes and started to wash them along with cleaning the rest of the kitchen. It was getting late and just as Harry finished with the kitchen, the doorbell rang.

“Boy, get the door. Now!!!” Harry walked out of the kitchen and to the door. He opened it and saw Aunt Marge looking at him with utter disgust written all over her face. She looked very much like Uncle Vernon with very little neck and a round face complete with a mustache.

“You’re still here.” It was not a question it was a statement. “They should have kicked you out by now. I would have had you drowned before keeping you. Oh well, my brother has a big heart. Too big I’d say, keeping the likes of you.” She walked past him, pushed her bags at him and told him to put them in her room.

Vernon said standing up to give his sister a quick hug and kiss, if you could call it a kiss. To Harry it seemed that they just bumped chins. He started his trek upstairs. When he was up there he started part of his list of chores, quickly dusting the hall and the rooms. He would have to do it again tomorrow as well as vacuum, but he knew if he interrupted their TV time he would be in big trouble. Of course, he would be in trouble if he didn’t interrupt them as well.

He sighed. His life was just not fair! He heard a voice in the back of his mind saying ‘Life is not fair Potter. It never is.’ The voice reminded him strongly of Professor Snape’s biting voice. ‘Man I am losing my mind. Do this do that, don’t do this don’t do that. I am so tired of it all. It would be so easy just to say fuck it and just leave or something. Anything. But no, the fate of the wizarding world is in my hands. “And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.” But what does that really mean? If I kill him then I can go about living life? I don’t think so. I am the savior of the wizarding world.’ He spat the word ‘savior’ in his mind. ‘At least that’s what they think. Damn them all for putting their lives in the hands of one teenage boy. But I am an adult, not a teenager. I have seen far too many things in my life to be a teenager. I had no childhood, not one that I care to remember anyway. I just wish it would end.’ He sighed heavily. ‘At this time I really don’t care how it ends.’ He kept on working on his chores while he wondered about his fate.

A/N: Please tell me what you think. Hate it love it?
