I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter 2
Disclaimer: I didn\'t create these characters (and if you didn\'t know that, I don\'t know what to do with you, but you should get out from under that rock right now and read the wonderful Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling) and I\'m not making any money off them. I\'m borrowing them for the purposes of enjoyment only. Thanks.
Hold On
As he walked quietly back to the dungeons, Snape contemplated the words of the song. As soon as he was in his office, he sat at his desk with a piece of parchment, and scrawled out what he could remember of the lyrics. Hold on when you feel like letting go. Hold on, it gets better than you\'ll know.
Snape paused in his writing, wishing he had more time to contemplate the lyrics, but his next class was in 5 minutes. Quickly he scrawled the last line he could remember, realizing it came near the begining of the song. You\'re feeling sad, you\'re feeling lonely, and no one seems to care, you\'re mother\'s gone and your father hits you
This pain you cannot bear.
He frowned down at the disorganized writing, knowing he had no time to fix it. He rolled up the parchment and put it in his right hand drawer. He drew his wand and magically sealed the drawer. He walked briskly to his classroom, doing his best to block the song out of his head.

Hermione watched the door close behind Snape. She wasn\'t sure why she had picked that particular song, except that she always felt better after listening to it.
She sat down heavily as she thought of the first time she\'d heard the song.
She walked into her childhood home behind her parents. Her mom dropped the car keys on the table as she sat down. Her father walked up behind her mother and rubbed her shoulders lightly. Hermione was thinking she would just go to her room and cry herself to sleep.
\"Hermione?\" She paused when she heard her mother\'s voice, her hand on the banister and her foot on the first stair. She willed herself to turn around.
\"Yes?\" Her voice was a whisper. If she tried to raise it, she would cry.
\"There\'s...\" her mother hesitated. \"We left a mix CD for you up in your room. I hope you like it.\" Hermione smiled weakly. She was truly grateful for this last small gift, and desperatly wanted to convey this to her parents without crying. She nodded solemnly, pressing her lips together and blinking back the tears. Her parents understood. She rushed up the stairs to her room.
Hermione leaned back on the door as she looked around her rarely used room. A CD case was propped up against her stereo. She put it in the player and climbed into her bed, pulling the blankets over her head. She reached under the pillow, knowing what she would find. Tears pricked at her eyes as she felt the parchment under her fingers. She had just finished the first letter from Ron, the one inviting her to spend the rest of her summer at headquarters, when the song started. Something about it made her lift her eyes from the parchment. Her tears had stopped by the end of the song.
Hermione was forced back to the present as a student knocked on her office door. She shook her head, as if to clear the memories.
Ron is dead, she thought. There\'s no point dwelling on it anymore. Four years later and you\'re still thinking about it?
I\'m allowed to think of it once in awhile, she argued with herself. I used that song to get over it! She\'d memorized the words that day, and listend to it every morning that summer. She\'d used the words to help her begin her liShe She returned to Hogwarts as soon as she could to teach. She never left the CD far away.
\"Come in!\" She called to the student, forcing all thoughts of her dead boyfriend away.
