Rehearsal Dinner
***okay, thanks for the few reviews, I appreciate them. As for how many chapters I plan on writing...I\'m not sure. I guess I\'ll gage how far to go with the response. This chapter is short, sorry, but I\'m really tired (I worked last night) and I\'ve been trying to work on...oh fifty other stories...at least it seems that way. Hey! KK, you wanna give me some of your plot bunnies? Cause I have none of my own anymore. At least, not for 3 of my stories...if anyone wants to help...the stories I\'m having troubles on is \"Falling.\" \"Tear Stains\" and \"Changes\" PLEASE!!! Anyone, e-mail me at Stackystackyg@aol.com I\'m begging!
CHAPTER 2 The Rehearsal Dinner
It was a throwback to the days at Hogwarts. At the main table, Draco and Harry were sitting next to each other. On one side, Hermione and Ron sat with Harry, and on the other with Draco was Severus and Albus. The Weasley family sat around a large, and rather crowded table. Some of the Gryffindor’s from school where there, Oliver Wood, Dean Thomas, who was holding Ginny Weasley hand. At another were Lupin, Moody, and MacGonagal.
The wedding party wouldn’t be many. Most just close friends of Harry and Draco’s. Blaise would be showing up at the wedding, since he was constantly busy at the Ministry. Watching with smiling eyes, Harry squeezed Draco’s hand. “Nervous yet,” a gentle whisper asked in Harry’s ear.
“Excited,” he responded.
A clink of the glass brought the boys attention to Ron, who was now standing waiting to propose a toast. “I’ve known Harry since our first year at Hogwarts. We’ve been through hard times and good times together. He’s saved my arse more times than I can count.” Grinning, Ron turned to Harry. “You’re like a brother to me Harry. And I wish you and Draco the best of everything.”
There was a small applause, and Harry stood. “I want to thank you all for being here tonight. Tomorrow I’m going to be married to the man I’ve loved for as I can remember. It doesn’t seem like there was a time when Draco wasn\'t a part of my life. I can’t express how much it means to me that you’re all here to witness our union. Now, I’m not much of a speech writer, so lets finish our dinner.”
Before Draco or Harry was able to finish dinner Fred and George were pulling them away to the bachelor party. Harry protested, reminding that it wasn’t worth it since both Draco and himself were bachelors. But in the small room, with all his close friends, and a glass of some unknown beverage, Harry felt at peace.
Draco sat back, a glass in his hand, not feeling like drinking. He wanted to be sober to remember this night. Fred and George were holding down Severus, while Ron poured a bottle of fire-whiskey down his throat. Remus and Moody were laughing, taking long drinks of their own glasses of fire whiskey.
Music started somewhere, and Fred was dancing with Remus. Moody sat out, but Severus, full of liquor, was dancing with George. It was definitely worth being sober for. Harry cuddled next to Draco, watching the dancing couples. “No one is actually going to make it to the wedding tomorrow except us Draco. They’ll be too busy nursing their hangovers.”
“Hermione will be there.” Draco smirked. “I wouldn’t be surprised if she interrupted me through my vows tomorrow telling me of grammar mistakes.”
“At least she no longer hates you,” Harry said, sitting up some. “I swear, I thought I was going to have to hex her to make her like you.”
Ron suddenly stumbled by, loudly talking about living with Hermione. Draco was chuckling, Harry grinning. “Be right back, I have to use the toilets.” Draco got up, kissing Harry’s forehead softly.
Harry wasn’t alone long though. A very inebriated Severus sat down next to Harry. “We need to talk Pa…pe…Potter!”
“Yes Severus?” Harry asked, chuckling. But Severus didn’t bother to say anything else. He leaned forward, placing his lips on the very surprised Gryffindor‘s. His arms wrapped around Harry clumsily. Harry pulled away, but the potions master was stronger than Harry imagined him to be.
Seeing Draco coming, Harry breathed a sigh of relief. Until he saw the look in Draco’s eyes. Pure raging jealousy heated the silver to fiery mercury. Severus was yanked away. Blindly the older man swung, and found a fist in his eye.
Draco’s best man now had a black eye. This would be hard to explain to Hermione.
***Like I said, it was short, but I thought a drunk Snape hitting on Harry was a funny idea, so I made a whole chapter just so I could include it. I had planed on just going straight to the wedding...but come on...I couldn\'t get Snape in a dress...or could I? Guess we\'ll see...read and review? Star?
