***Thank you for the song title! That was drivng me nuts! Anyway, here\'s another chapter...enjoy!

The first week of school Draco hardly had time to sleep, let alone notice his new dorm mates. It wasn’t until one night studying that he even remembered his old arch enemy was sharing the room. “What’s this? Draco Malfoy actually studies? Is this a miracle before my eyes?”

“Ever run out of sarcastic remarks Potter?” Draco didn’t bother to look up from his potions book.

“What are you working on?” Harry moved closer, peering over Draco’s shoulder.

“Tomorrow’s potions assignment.”

“You actually do your work in that class?”

Had Harry not seemed genuinely surprised, Draco would have lad, “d, “yes I actually do work in there.”

“It just seemed that, you know, Snape worships the ground you walk on.”

“He’s my god-father. He has to worship the ground I walk on. It’s his duty.” Looking over at Harry he noticed his face had fallen at the mention of god-fathers. “I heard that Sirus Black was your god-father.”

“Yeah. He was. He was the closest thing to a father I ever really had.”

“I’m sorry to hear what happened to him.” Draco put his book aside. Harry sat across from Draco, grabbing his broom.

“People die.”

“It must have been nice to have someone that loved you.” Draco
said almost wistfully. Sure, Draco had grown up with a father and a mother, but there had been no love in the family.

“Your parents didn’t,” Harry asked, looking straight into Draco’s eyes. Something seemed to be happening between the Gryffindor and himself. A sort of friendship.

“He threw me in front of Voldemort. He would have rather I died than…than his Dark Lord.” Shrugging, Draco felt a few pounds lighter. It was the first time he had ever told anyone the truth. Many thought he just tripped. Or tried to sacrifice himself for Voldemort. “That’s one reason I envied you Potter. Everyone loved you.”

“I didn’t want all their love.” Harry sighed, falling backwards onto his bed. The broom dropped with a small clatter. His feet dangled in the air as he stared up into the canopy. “I just wanted my parents. They would understand. Everyone else just loved me because of the scar on my head. There goes the famous Harry Potter. The Boy Who Lived. It was too much sometimes.”

“Being a hero isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Neither is being the villain. I was stupid when I was younger. I mean, I did everything I could to make my father see me. But all he worried about was bringing Voldemort to power, and destroying you. Part of me thought, once you were dead, then he would see me. Even my father was obsessed with you…n a bad way.” Draco grabbed his book and moved over to Harry’s bed.

Looking up surprised, Harry’s green eyes brightened. “I guess we were just very misunderstood growing up.”

“I think we would have made good friends. You know, if we hadn’t hated each other and all.” Draco handed Harry some parchment. “Here. We have homework to do.”

“Now you sound like Hermione.” Harry teased sitting up and taking the parchment from Draco.

Draco groaned. “Lets try not to think about them.”

“Now what exactly were we doing again?” Harry asked, looking over at Draco’s book.

“Do you ever pay attention in that class?”

Shaking his head, Harry grinned. “I’m usually fantasizing about how many different ways to make Snape eat his own arse.”

“Watch it Potter, that’s my god-father we’re talking about.”

“Like you don’t know he’s not a to me.”

“You deserve it.” Draco grabbed his quill and parchment. “You are Harry bloody Potter. How can anyone like you?”

“Cause I have a cool scar.” Harry countered, smirking.

“Harry! Ron and I were…oh, hello Malfoy.” Hermione addressed Draco for the first time since their arrival at Hogwarts.

“Granger.” He was trying desperately to be civil. He needn’t an angry mud blood on his hands.

Rolling her eyes, she turned to Harry, “anyway, Ron and I were about to go to the library for some studying. Do you want to come Harry?”

“What no invitation for me?” Draco mocked, trying to look hurt. “Whatever will I do?”

Harry was trying to hide his laughter, but Hermione’s sharp eyes caught it. “You can’t possibly think that’s funny, can you Harry?”

“It was well timed.” Harry murmured.

“Well are you coming?”

“Draco and I were-”

“You didn’t just use a sentence staring with Draco and I did you?” Hermione’s jaw dropped. Ron appeared at the door.

“What’s keeping Harry?” He asked, looking over a speechless Hermione’s shoulder. “What are you doing on Harry’s bed Malfoy?”

“Studying. You know Weasley, where you try to learn things from a book? You do know what a book is right?”

This time Harry wasn’t able to hold back his laughter. Ron and Hermione looked shocked and hurt. Draco could only smirk in satisfaction. “I can’t understand why you’d want to spend time with him,” Hermione sneered in Draco’s direction.

“Well, he is the best in potions. He could probably teach me a lot.” Harry shrugged.

“He’s only the best because Snape spoilts him rotten.” Ron injected, holding onto Hermione’s hand once more. My god, it was like they were joined at the hip or something! Draco wanted to vomit.

“I’ll see you guys later, really. I’m just going to study with Draco for right now.”

Looking as if she had been slapped, Hermione spun around and quickly fled the room. Ron followed after her, calling her name. “Look, Harry, if you want to study with your friends, you don’t have to humor me.” Draco offered suddenly feeling a little guilty for starting the fight.

“If I hang out with them all they’re going to do is hug and kiss all over each other, and I would want to hurl.”

Grinning, Draco looked back at his book once more. “So why don’t you have a girlfriend Harry? I’m sure girls are lining up for miles to get into your pants.”

“Call it fate or whatever, but I haven’t really met any girls that I like. What about you?”

“Never had time. Between making your life miserable, and sucking up to my father, I never really thought about a relationship before.” Draco went back to his homework, scrawling down random words. ~You know everything that’ I’m afraid of, and you do everything I wish I did and everybody wants you, and everybody loves you~

“Why do you keep singing that Draco?” Harry said, looking up from his book. “I mean, that’s not exactly what I would expect you to be singing.”

“I heard it when I was in London a couple of weeks ago. It’s stuck. Every time I think it’s gone, it pops back in. It’s rather annoying.”

“More annoying for me since I have to listen to you singing it.”

Jumping up, Draco lifted his quill to his mouth, mocking many of the muggles he had seen singing in concerts. ~I’ve got a crush on you! I hope you feel way I do! I get a rush when I’m with you! I’ve got a crush on you!~

“Stop it you stupid git.” Harry tried to sound stern, but he couldn’t help but laugh at Draco’s show. “Someone will come in and think the wrong thing.”

Pretending to be hurt, Draco pouted. “You don’t like it when I sing to you? However will I live?” Draco couldn’t help the grin that spread across his lips. Never in his life had he felt more happier. It was nice, just acting silly and being normal. Not being angry all the time. Not hating everyone around him…except that stupid little mudblood and weasel.

It was nice…just having a friend. A real friend who could laugh at his stupid attempts at jokes. Sitting down, Draco picked up his parchment which he had thrown to the ground. “So anyway, back to our invigorating homework.”

After almost an hour of peaceful silence, Harry stood and stretched. “I’m going to fall asleep if I have to stare at this crap for much longer.” Looking over at Draco, Harry grinned. “You want to go to the library? I’m sure Ron and Hermione would love to see you.”

“You like torturing your best friends?” A perfect pale eyebrow rose. A familiar smirk found Harry’s eyes.

“It’s a lot more entertaining than Snape’s essay.”

“True that. Alright then. Off to the Library?”

“Lead the way.” Gracefully Draco bowed, letting Harry lead the way. The library was quiet. A familiar backdrop in all his adventures. In the corner, near the back, Harry could hear a feverish argument.

“But Ron we have to do something! He’s our best friend and that little ferret faced prat will do something horrible to him!”

“Like what Hermione? Rape him? I mean, come on, Harry knows better. And besides, he’s not gay. They were doing homework together, as much as I hate it. That’s all.”

“I don’t think so. Malfoy was trying to seduce him. Harry’s fragile right now,” Draco could see Harry tense visibly. He was trying not to get angry himself. Why did he have to be the gay one? “He needs us to take care of him. Watch out for him.”

Draco didn’t notice Harry had walked off until he was almost out of the library. Jogging, he caught up with a very angry Gryffindor. “I can’t believe her! I’m fragile am I? I’m going to just fall into your arms!” Harry spun around, a few inches from Draco’s face. He had never seen anyone so angry. Or such a vivid emerald green.

“I don’t really like being the gay one in our relationship.” Draco joked, wanting to calm the Gryffindor down. He backed away and followed Harry up more stairs to their rooms.

Inside the confines of their room, Harry calmed drastically. “I could just strangle them.”

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea mate. You just have to be evil and play a dirty trick on them.”

“Easy for you to say, you’ve had lessons in being evil.” Harry quipped.

“There’s the Potter I’m used to.”

“You know what? You’re right. And I’ve got a great idea. Only, I’m going to need your help.”

“If it’s cioucious I’m in.”

“Not quite malicious as it is funny. What do you think about being my boyfriend?” Harry sat down next to a very startled Draco. “We can leave a few notes here and there where they’ll find them…make it look like I’m pursuing you…show them who’s the bitch in the relationship.”

“Now wait just a minute Potter, I don’t think I want to be anyone’s bitch, let alone yours.”

“Come on, this would be right up your ally! Can you imagine what they would think if they thought we were dating? They would flip!”

“They would think you’ve lost your mind,” grinned Draco. “I’ll do it…lover.”

In careful handwriting, Harry copied down everything Draco told him to. It was stupid, but neither of them ever had written a love letter before. So Draco used the lyrics he remembered from the muggle song stuck in his head. “It’s um…I’ve got a crush on you. I hope you feel the same way I do. Uh…I feel a rush when I’m with you? Yeah, I feel a rush when I’m with you. Then you can put, um…I wish everyone would disappear…I’m to scared to be me, and I’m too shy…That’s all I can remember.”

“Oh well, it’s short but to the point. I’ll sign it, and then it can drop out of your things or something while they’re around. Knowing Hermione she’ll read it in a heart beat, especially if she recognizes my handwriting.”

“Then what?”

Shrugging, Harry turned away from the parchment. “Then um, more letters maybe, a little touching when they’re around. Then to top it all off, one night have it set up to where they find us about to make out. It’ll be perfect.”

Arching a pale eyebrow, Draco couldn’t help but chuckle. “Who knew you were such a vindictive little bastard underneath it all.”

“Now honey, is that any way to talk to me?”

Rolling his eyes, Draco fell onto his bed. “I’m going to sleep. All this relationship talk is exhausting. I’ll see you in the morning…dear.”
