Chapter 2
Harry sat among the shadows reading the poem over and over again. He was so deep in thought that he didn’t hear someone join him within the shadows.
His thoughts were swimming around those silver gray-eyes, but who would even want them to be together? They were opposites and opposites do not go together. Black and white don’t fitetheether, there is no in between for them to find peace in.
He had been sitting there in the shadow’s for forty five minutes, time to go to dinner, he didn’t want to be late for detention with Snape, oh joy!
*~*
Silver blonde hair was hiding in the depths of the shadows reading and thinking, trying to make sense of everything. What in the world was going on? The one who held Draco’s heart was a Griffindor. A bloody goodie too shoes Griffindor. Who would want them with each other? Draco’s mind was buzzing with concentration that he hadn’t heard someone leave the shadows he was engulfed in.
Draco looked down at his watch, time for dinner. He stood up and made his way back to the school.
When the sliver hair entered the Great Hall everyone was there already. He didn’t feel like talking to anyone at the moment, especially to Blaise who had seen his reaction to the letter. He made sure not to sit anywhere near the other Slytherin boy as he consumed his nutritious sweet cakes.
*~*
The raven hair noticed the silver hair immediately as it entered the room. The Griffindor silently groaned. Those silver eyes would never see anything for a Griffindor.
*~*
The silky black hair watched as the raven hair enter the Great Hall alone then ten minutes later the silver hair followed suit. They were both in deep thought. The silky black hair smiled, maybe they had, you know, gotten to know each other. But then neither of them looked too happy, no, they weren’t, those two were as blind to the other’s feelings as a bat is to sight.
The silky black hair sighed, so much for hope.
*~*
The raven black hair entered the potions classroom. His professor was already waiting for him. He didn’t even notice the silk black hair leave the Great Hall.
“Potter, I want you to be my victim.”
Has eys eyes widened, “Victim?”
“No, not the muggle victim. Wizard victim means I test things on you and see what happens stupid boy.”
“Oh.” Replied Harry
“Now, sit and all you really must do is drink some potions and let me see if anything happens.”
“What if you poison me?”
“Trust me, if I could, I definitely wouldn’t wait until now. Now, if you will just drink this and we will start.”
Harry took the vile and looked at it. It was a weird colour, he drank it anyway, he didn’t really care, and he didn’t want to get Snape angry because there would be no way out.
Harry just sat there. This was worst that doing physical labour. Sitting is SO boring. This is when he got to thinking about earlier that day.
Snape suddenly shoved the parchment he was writing on in Harry’s hands, that’s when he realized that his letter was missing and he stood up.
“Potter, what do you think your doing?”
“Professor, I forgot something outside.”
“Well, get it some other time, you can’t leave. If something happens I’ll get in trouble.”
“But I need to get it! It’s really important.”
“Another time Potter. Now sit down!”
Harry glared at his professor. ARGH! He was going to have to sneak out with his invisibility cloak to look for it later to night then.
*~*
Draco was sitting in the common room trying to do the homework that he didn’t have time to complete earlier that day.
“Draco, you alright?”
Draco looked up and saw Blaise standing above him. Draco’s eyes dropped, “I’m fine. What do you want Blaise?”
Blaise took it as an invitation to sit, which annoyed Draco terribly, “I was just wondering what that letter you received earlier was about. You seemed to really REACT to the letter.”
“It was nothing Blaise.”
“Well then. If it’s nothing then lets see it!”
“WHAT?”
“I want to read it!”
“NO! Are you mad? It’s mine, I don’t need to show you anything.”
“Why not? If it really doesn’t matter to you then what do you care if I read it or not?”
“Because its mine!”
“Give it here!”
“No!”
That’s when it hit Draco. His eyes shot wide open, “Give it back!”
“Give what back?”
“The letter. It’s gone.”
“I don’t have it Draco.”
“Then where the bloody hell did it go?”
“How the hell should I know? Maybe you dropped it stupid.”
“Who are you calling stupid? I have more brains than you and restrest of Slytherin put together.”
Blaise said nothing. It was true; Draco was as smart as hell, yet he didn’t know how that mudblood managed to get higher grades that Draco.
Draco ran out of the common room leaving everything sprawled along the desk he was at. Blaise sighed and picked up his things and put them in his bag to bring back to Draco’s bed. He had upset Draco and he needed to make it up to the blonde. Draco only accused others when it was absolutely necessary or when he wasn’t thinking straight.
*~*
Draco ran into the shadows and took out his wand, “Lumos!” he shouted and searched around. Damn, why did he have to think in the bloody shadows for? He couldn’t even remember which tree he was sitting under when he was pondering his feelings and the mystery letter.
Then he suddenly saw something pale flash on the ground. Draco quickly made his way over to it. Yes! It was a letter. He quickly picked up the letter and ran back into the school making sure no one caught him outside after hours.
*~*
Finally detention had ended, Harry was bloody tired but he didn’t care, he had to get the letter back before someone else got their hands on it.
Harry hurried up to the Griffindor tower. There were still people in the common room, they shouted to him but he brushed them off heading straight for his dorm and his cloak.
The raven hair rushed out of the common room faster than when he came in. He didn’t care if people thought he was the nuttiest person for running in and out of the common room. As soon as the portrait closed he took the cloak out of his bag and covered himself with it.
The emerald eyes quickly ran out of the school and into the shadows. “Lumos!” he shouted and searched around. He could swear that the tree he was sitting under earlier didn’t have his letter. Then a rush of wind blew past him. //Of course! The wind must have blown the letter a bit.// The invisible raven hair searched around a bit more, //THERE!//
Harry quickly ran to the letter on the ground that shown out despite the darkness surrounding it. He quickly grabbed it and shove the letter back into his pocket and raced back into the school.
