In Your Face, Gryffindors

Disclaimer: I still don\'t own anything. *sob*

Author\'s Note: Sequel to \'Drunk\', but will still make sense on it\'s own.

Gods, it was hot. Ginny was sweltering in her black robes, and her long hair kept escaping the loose bun she\'d tied it up in. All of the students had come down to the lake, as it was Saturday, but mostly because it was simply too bloody hot to stay inside. So now they were all sprawled out around the lake, in various states of undress. The Slytherins were the farthest from the castle, and the Ravenclaws were next to them, then the Hufflepuffs, both playing out their roles as a buffer between the Snakes and the Lions. The Slytherins sat slightly apart, while the other three Houses mingled freely. But there was one who was slightly out of the usual placement. Ginny, who was sitting with her boyfriend and his friends. Her boyfriend who just happened to be Draco Malfoy, the Prince of Slytherin.

At the moment, she was sitting on the dock which jutted out into the lake, idly kicking her feet in the cool water. Draco and Blaise sat on her left, Crabbe, Goyle, Andrew, and Micah behind them, and Pansy, Millicent, Ashlea, and Vivian sat on Ginny\'s right. The other Slytherins were ranged out behind them on the dock, and on the grassy shore, expensive robes spread out underneath them carelessly. She glanced over at Draco, wondering how in the hell he was dealing with having his hair down. The long, silver locks fell down to the middle of his back in a silky wave, and didn\'t seem to be affecting him at all. Bastard. At least Blaise had his long hair tied back like she did. In fact, all the other Slytherins did. Damn Draco. She felt her bun come loose again.

\"Bloody hell!\" She swore, savagely ripping out her hair tie. Draco turned to her, amused.

\"What\'s wrong?\" He asked. He knew damn good and well what was wrong.

\"Ha ha. I\'m so fucking tired of being hot!\" She fumed.

She saw the evil little grins on his and Blaise\'s faces a second too late. Before she could blink, they\'d stood and grabbed her, tossing her in the lake. A second before she hit, she felt her robes disappear, replaced by a bathing suit. Cool, soothing water enveloped her, and it was almost nice enough for her to not be mad. Almost. She surfaced, and saw the bastards laughing. She swept her arm back, and sent a huge spray of water towards them. They froze for a second, while the other Slytherins laughed even harder, then they shrugged. They both pulled out their wands and pointed them at each other. Their robes disappeared, and baggy black and green shorts that reached mid-calf were all they were left in.

Ginny told herself not to drool as she took in their muscled forms, and she saw she wasn\'t the only one having problems. Every girl (and quite a few boys) that she could see had frozen, and it was soooo not just the Slytherins, and were just staring at the two of them, while they, of course, were cotelytely oblivious. Ginny reached the dock, and they both lowered a hand to help her out. She finally got a look at the bathing suit they\'d put her in, and almost laughed. It was a dark forest green, trimmed in scarlet. She didn\'t see notice that she was getting almost as many lustful stares as they were, just pushed them both in, before diving off the dock. She resurfaced to see both of them grinning, and more Slytherins changing and jumping in.

\"Well, this is er.\er.\" She said. \"But you\'re both going to die later, you know that right?\" She asked, trying to scowl and failing. They assumed expressions of mock-horror.

\"No! Anything but that!\" Blaise exclaimed dramatically, and promptly sunk under the surface. Draco laughed and kissed her lightly, right before she was pulled under by hands belonging to a now-officially dead man. She came sputtering to the surface, and glared daggers at Blaise.
DAMNDAMNIT, ZABINI!\" Shriekrieked. \"What did I tell-\" She stopped, whirling mid-sentence and dunking Draco. Blaise\'s eyes widened, then he had to grab the side of the dock to stay afloat while laughing his ass off. Draco didn\'t resurface, however, and after a minute Ginny started to get worried. She poked Blaise.

\"Blaise, where\'d he go?\" She asked, and he stopped laughing for a moment.

\"What do you-\"

His head disappeared under the glassy surface, and Ginny giggled in relief. When they came back up, a full-blown water fight started, and Ginny noticed the other Houses had come into the water, too. It quickly turned into Slytherin and Ravenclaw against Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, and water was flying like mad. Ginny stayed by the dock, not too far from where Draco and Blaise were, not wanting to have to pick between the two rival Houses. She was one of the few not participating, and that\'s why she saw him in time. Parvati and Padma\'s younger brother, Manik, was almost in the middle of the lake, way too far out, and he was struggling to stay afloat. Ginny knew she\'d never make it, and looked around desperately. Her eyes landed on Draco.

\"Draco!\" She screamed, and he spun to face her. His eyes clouded when he saw the fear in her face. \"Get him!! Please!!\" She screamed, pointing to the middle of the lake.

Draco turned, and his eyes widened. He set out in a fast breaststroke, speeding through the water. He was an excellent swimmer, the best in the region, and his lithe form ate up the distance. Her screams had alerted the others that something wasn\'t right, and they followed her gaze. Padma and Parvati started screaming, and the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws had to hold them back.therther were very good in the water, and everyone could see that Draco was the only one who had even a chance to reach Manik. Blaise helped Ginny onto the dock, then crawled up next to her.

They couldn\'t do anything but watch, and quite a few students screamed when Manik went under and didn\'t come back up. Draco was still almost twenty yards from him, and he went under almost as soon as Manik did. It was deathly quiet for the next minute, then Ginny saw someone had run for the Professors, because Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Snape were running for the lake where the students stood, spellbound. Another minute passed, and Ginny started to panic. Where were they? She tried to go back into the water, but Blaise grabbed her around the waist, pulling her back.

\"Shhh, Ginny. You\'d never make it. Just wait. It\'ll be alright. It\'ll be alright.\" He whispered to her, and she wasn\'t sure if he was trying to convince her or himself.

\"I shouldn\'t have told him to go.\" She whispered. Another minute passed, and some students had started crying, while the Patil twins were almost hysterical. Ginny felt tears start running down her own cheeks, and Blaise held her tighter when she started shaking.

\"Oh gods, where is he?\" She asked, her throat tight.

\"He\'s fine. It\'s alright, he\'s fine.\" Blaise said, and held up his arm. There was a snake tattoo on his forearm, a replica of the one on Draco\'s. \"We\'re bonded.\" He said. \"He\'s fine as long as the color stays.\"

It was slightly faded, but the color was there. After another minute, however, that didn\'t matter much when she still couldn\'t see the man she was in love with. There were others swimming out to the middle now, and more people had started crying. Four minutes was too long. After another thirty seconds, Ginny was sobbing, and she felt Blaise tense. No, oh no, she thought, not wanting to see suddenly pale flesh where ink once shown. But he jumped up, and started laughing. Her eyes followed his finger, and she saw a silver head erupt from the water. People started yelling, and the swimmers sped up.

She could see Draco had Manik, but she didn\'t know if he was alive or not. She knew Draco had to be exhausted and on the verge of passing out, but he still managed to haul the boy over half the way back to shore before Harry and a few others met him and took Manik. Harry himself grabbed Draco, despite his protests, and started helping him back to shore. Ginny and Blaise started walking for the place they could tell they would come ashore, and Ginny thought of something suddenly. She turned to Blaise.

\"Hey, why\'d you stith ith me? You\'re almost as good a swimmer as he is.\" She asked him. Blaise looked at her for a moment, then turned away.

\"He told me to stay with you.\" Blaise said evenly. Ginny\'s eyes narrowed.

\"Why...He knew! He knew it was too far! He wasn\'t sure he would make it back, was he?\" She demanded, and Blaise turned his deep blue eyes back to her.

\"Does it matter now?\" He asked. \"He is back. And surely you know by now that one of us will always be witu.\"u.\" He said, and she couldn\'t help but grin. They made it to the waterline right as Draco fell to his knees on the sand, breathing heavily. She leaned down and hugged him.

\"You okay?\" She asked, and he nodded. \"You scared me so much. Don\'t do that again, alright?\" She practically pleaded. He looked up at her, and she felt as lost as she always did when she stared into those soul-stealing mercury eyes.

\"I\'m sorry.\" He said, simple words, but from him they were a true rarity. She grinned and kissed him, then finally noticed the huge crowd around them.

\"That...\" Professor McGonagall started. \"That was unbelievable.\" She finally said, and Professor Snape looked incredibly smug, though she knew he\'d been concerned for Draco. Harry butted in.

\"Look, Malfoy.\" He said, the first even semi-civil words he\'d spoken around Draco since Ginny had started going out with him. \"I saw why you went after that kid.\" He said, and glanced briefly at Ginny. \"So...Thanks.\" He said, and jaws dropped all around us. Harry turned on his heel and left, leaving Ron red and spluttering. Draco had an amused smirk on his face when he turned back to Ginny.

\"Do you see what you\'ve done? I\'m ruined!\" He joked, and she smacked him playfully. Dumbledore appeared next to them suddenly.

\"Manik will be fine. Thanks to you, Mr. Malfoy.\" The old wizard said, and they looked over to where Padma and Parvati were clutching their brother and sobbing. \"Fifty points to Slytherin for such an act of selfless bravery. You\'ve earned them.\" At those words the Slytherins started cheering, and had smug expressions to rival Snape\'s.
