Dreams and Letters

Chapter 1: Dreams and Letters (In progress)

Harry Potter was not a normal boy for various reasons. One, he hated the summer and did homework and two, he was a wizard. But he wasn\'t an ordinary wizard, but one with a destiny foretold before he was born by a teacher he thought loony. After being tricked to go to the Department of Mysteries last year by Voldemort and the subsequent death of his godfather, Sirius Black, Harry had found out why Voldemort had wanted the prophecy and why he was targeted for death. Basically, it all boiled down to him being the only one with the power to stop the Dark Lord and that he must either destroy Voldemort or be destroyed himself. There was no other conclusion possible.

That night was one Harry was looking forward to because it had been an exhausting day. Even though the Order of the Phoenix had threatened the Dursleys if they mistreated him, they had kept him busy with chores all around the house. Ironically, Harry thought this was a good thing because it kept him from sliding into depression which he almost did at times last year. He laid down in his bed and went to sleep. Suddenly, he found himself in the Chamber of Secrets, facing two men he had never seen before but knew immediately who they were: Salazar Slytherin and Godric Griffyndor.

He could not see details, but the dream revealed Griffyndor standing over the cremated body of Slytherin in bitter triumph. Then he witnessed Griffyndor trying to destroy the Chamber of Secrets, but a monster came out and Harry knew what it was immediately: a Basilisk. Knowing his life was almost over, Griffyndor spoke a strange language and soon two lions appeared in the chamber. They faced off with the snake, but were struck down due to the snake\'s lethal vision. But it was enough to give Griffyndor a chance to hide what he needed to hide and then turned to face his destiny as the snake approached for the final kill.
