Chapter XIX
Lovely Reviewers:
Lauriurix - Hehe. Well, the wait is significantly shorter this time.
Citten - Slytherins make life interesting. Glad that you loved everything about the previous chapter from the sound of the review. I loved it too!
chelleybelle - I like Fantastic. Wouldn't we all love our Lucius to be just like this one?
VampireSeductress - Ron being with Hermione is just so wrong. Everyone knows she would really end up with Draco, Lucius, Snape, or Remus. Well, seeing that Remus is mine, it would have to be one of the other three.
Dazzlious - Hermione and Ron are so wrong. Never you worry. Never you fear. I wouldn't let that happen to her. If I can have Remus, I suppose that you can cuddle Severus at least on the weekends. But he is inspiration, you know.
Heidi191976 - Ron will be straightened out. She does need to tell Lucius that!
Voracious Reader - I liked the idea of a panic attack as well.
trippingEYES - GOOD! I like it that you are drawn into the proper Harry Potter world where Lucius and Hermione end up together.
Megan - I did write another chapter. Thank you so much for the review. We have a give and take relationship...you give reviews, I take them. I write a chapter and you read it...hehe.
andarte - He does. I am ready to be done with doctors unless I am SEEING a doctor in an almost entirely unprofessional way. hehe.
maddie50 - hehe. Yes. Stopping the wedding? Changing the date? It's a bit confusing.
rhiannon - Reading all three, *sniffles* You made my day. Hey, I figure Hermione loves both male Malfoys, but glad that you like Dramione and Lumione. There is a funny new story in the Dramione section. It cracked me up. Amorem Consentit. You might like it.
HermioneMalfoyFan - Hello darling! Who knows? I'm ornery. It is partly the spell. and Lucius isn't helping, but all will be explained in due time. Men are vile and wicked. Except for one! When you said Go Lucius, go! I imagined a little cheerleader waving pompoms around. hehe. For me it is getting figured out how to get moved back across the long and boring state of KS.

Still not doing well medically but I will try to keep updates coming more quickly than the last. That took an embarrasingly long amount of time. For that I am sorry...even though circumstances were crazy.
This story is drawing to a close. This is NOT the final chapter. But we are getting there. I don't see any way to really stretch it out, plus it would be too much work to stretch it out. Especially when I work to trim it down so much. Hehe.

Hermione froze on the main staircase as she walked down them with Crookshanks trotting at her side and all her things shrunk in her pockets. Crookshanks wound through her legs and purred with his tail swishing and curling around her ankles.
He humped his back and hissed moving in front of her when he heard an angry shout. What was the arse doing here?
“Hermione, what is the meaning of this?” a purple faced Ron bellowed at her.
Crookshanks eased down the stairs carefully keeping himself between his mistress and the buffoon. Two tiny parts ripped off would hardly make a difference to the number of grandchildren producible by the Weasley family. They still had four more boys and the goofy female that was obsessed with that scar-faced, Pot-head boy. People were so dumb. They should find a powerful female in estrus and make her their mate and be done with it. That is what any good kneazle did.
“I told you in the letter…” Hermione started.
“Where’s the ring?” Ron demanded, glaring at her left hand that was ring-less.
“It was making me sick, Ron. I don’t know if I can do this.”
“It’s because we’re waiting so long,” the redhead said, wrapping his arms around Hermione. “We’ll move it up to Christmas Eve. It’ll be perfect. You’re over-thinking. You know how you do.”
Hermione shifted in his arms and tried to pull back.
“Hug me, Mione,” Ron said, tugging on her.
Hermione just shifted back and stiffened.
“Hermione! Come back. Please, Hermione.”
Hermione pushed Ron away and cocked her head to the side.
“Hermione! Come back. Please, Hermione.”
Hermione looked around frantically.
Where was Lucius? Why was he calling?
“Come with me, Mione,” Ron said, wrapping his arms around her.
Hermione whimpered and put a hand on her head as Ron steered her out the main doors.
“Hermione! Come back. Please, Hermione.”
Suddenly Hermione saw the ground coming up to meet her.
~*~-~-~*~-~-~-~*~-~-~-~-~*~-~-~-~-~-~*~-~-~-~-~-~*~-~-~-~-~*~-~-~-~*~-~-~*~
Hermione moaned and lifted a hand to block out the light.
“Are you okay?”
Hermione peaked through her fingers and saw Ron looming over her.
“Where am I?” Hermione asked.
“You’re at the Burrow,” Ron replied sinking back. “I thought you were a goner for a minute. But the Healer said that it was just a feinting spell.”
Hermione covered her nose with her hand to try to block out the smell of the owl urine in the room. Did the boy never clean?
“So what do you think of changing the wedding date?”
Hermione didn’t answer. She didn’t know what he was saying or talking about.
“It’ll be great. Then no one will have to travel her special for it. Besides I can’t think of a better way to spend Christmas Eve night.”
Hermione turned away from Ron and puked on the Chudley Cannons rug.
“Hey!” Ron yelped jumping up and pulling the rug away. “What’d you do that for?”
Hermione just fell back on the bed.
“Whatever you want, Ron,” Hermione said, and she stretched out and drew the hideous orange comforter up around herself.
Ron whooped before running downstairs to share the news.

Lucius smirked to himself.
Yes. The necklace was brilliant, transmitting his voice to her so only she could hear him, but he heard all that she heard.
“How is your plan going, Father?” Draco asked.
“She’ll be mine before the New Year,” Lucius said. “Being wealthy is a good thing, Boy.”
“What are you doing?”
“I think that the Dornröschen-Fluch is what is causing her to want to not marry the idiot. Not to say that such a brilliant girl would need help in discovering that little clue. I hadn’t intended to use the necklace to spy on her. I just wanted to know if she was in trouble which was the point of the necklace. But knowing everything that is going on in her life is a plus, especially since,” Lucius stopped and blinked quickly. He would not cry in front of his son again. Nothing was wrong with crying, but Hermione deserved a strong man who would fight for her not one that would curl up in a little ball or scream his head off at her the moment things were not seeming to go his way. She deserved a man who was brilliant and would take care of her.
“Are you alright?” Draco asked.
Lucius glowered at his son, and he stood up from his place at the head of the table.
“I have a business to run, a marriage to ruin, and a woman to reclaim; I’m stressed,” Lucius responded with a sneer as he walked out shutting the door quietly in his wake before stalking out.
He had enjoyed his eggs, sausage, and toast smothered in orange marmalade and his delicious vanilla tea.
He wandered up the stairs toward his office as he reached into his robe’s pocket and withdrew the male counter-piece of Hermione’s necklace.
The announcement in the Prophet this morning had almost made him a depressed heap. It was only when he had seen the sadness in Hermione’s eyes and the way she pulled away from the redhead clutching something that was around her neck that kept him from losing it.
She didn’t want to marry the redhead, and Lucius knew that she wouldn’t follow through with it.
The victory he would have over them would live in his heart to his dying breath and he would be sure to write the story for future generations of Malfoys to enjoy the thwarting of the Weasley heathens. Lucius sat in his plush office chair and smirked as he stared out the window.
