Champion of Angel’s : Chapter 18


Remus & Sirius

It was morning before Sirius decided to wake from his slumber. Causing Remus to become more worried than before. He wasn’t sure if telling his best friend he had been chosen to be his mate was the right choice.

“Moony, I had this weird dream. Something about being your mate to your wolf side.” Sirius groaned as he moved himself to sit back up in the bed.

“It wasn’t a dream Padfoot.” Remus sighed as he too moved to sit up.


“Well ok, I don’t know what to say Moony. Can I think about this and get back to you?”


“Sure Padfoot take all the time you need.” Remus replied calmly while his wolf was howling inside. It wanted his mate now; the wolf had been waiting years for this moment.


“Thanks,” Sirius stated before getting up and moving to leave the private room. But before he walked out the door, he turned to his friend and asked, “How long? How long did you know I was your mate?”



“Since I was sixteen Padfoot, I just didn’t want to hold you back so I said nothing.” Remus answered as he looked down at his lap.



“I see, well I’m going back to London. I’ll let you know what I decide in about a week.” Sirius replied as he quickly exited the room.



Remus closed his eyes tightly as he fought the internal battle with his wolf. This was the main reason he never said anything. Now he worried that he was about to lose his best friend.

Demis & Kiba


Demis jolted upright in the bed, it was morning as he wondered if they were leaving today. Looking over at the clock, seeing that it was only 6am. Figured that everyone was still in bed, but decided to climb out of his and into his sisters.


Ever so quietly, Demis walked into the other bedroom. He smiled as he seen Kiba sleeping thing the middle of the bed on her side. It was the perfect position for him to crawl in there with her. But as he was about to walk closer to the bed a voice caused him to stop a moment.



“Little brother, it’s too early to be up.” Kiba stated with a yawn, before lifting the cover in an invitation.



At that, Demis quickly crawled in to the bed. Once in he rolled to his side so that he could bury his face into her neck. And sighed as the covers went over him and his sister wrapped her arms around him.



“Sleep brother,” Kiba sighed as she held Demis running her fingers through his hair, until his breathing even out again.


And Demis did. It wasn’t until two hours later that he woke in the bed alone. Sitting up he tried to open his sensed to feel where his sister was and glad when he found her in the sitting room. So quickly, he jumped out of bed and into the shower.


Kiba was drinking her tea as she heard the shower in her bathroom come on. Chuckling softly wondering what Demis would do when he realized that he did not have any clothes in there. But her question was answered not twenty minutes later, when Demis walked into the room.


“Oh my I had no idea that I had a sister instead of a brother.” Kiba smirked as she took in the whole package of her brother. The long black hair tipped in silver laying open just below the shoulder blades. With her blue Egyptian silk shirt and a pair of her leather pants. The clothing was a bit loose but overall he could pass as her sister.


Demis blushed as he walked over only to climb into her lap. Just to smile as Kiba wrapped her arms around him.


“You are so wearing that today.” Kiba smiled before turning him in her lap to spell his hair into tiny braids.


“I forgot that I had no clothes in your closet. You don’t mind do you?” Demis shyly asked as he felt his hair being braided.


“Not at all, you are going to shock them all little brother.” Kiba stated as his hair was finished. “Now get off me so we can go to breakfast. First, make sure you put on a pair of those dragon hide boots in your closet. My shoes will not fit you, even though my clothing does.”

Demis blushed again before running into his room for shoes. But not before hearing his sister’s laughter ringing in his ears. He didn’t care that she was laughing in let him know that she cared. And that was all he needed, someone that cared.

Staff Dining Room


Many of the staff was seated around the table talking softly about the New Year. When Remus Lupin walked in still looking worse for wear. The headmistress Selena raised a questioning brow when his wizard friend did not enter behind him.

“He left earlier after I told him he was my mate to my wolf.” Remus answered her unasked question. Before seating himself beside Lucas with a sigh.

“Why? I mean he is your friend.” Lucas asked softly.

“He is, its just he needs time to think about it.” Remus answered Lucas before glancing around at the others.

“Think about it? The man should be honored that he was chosen. Not many Were’s would take on a mortal especially a wizard.” Alexandros commented as he moved to take his infant son from Kayden.


“Yes well he want’s time and I’ll give him that.” Remus stated as he poured a cup of calming tea.


The others just shook their heads at the naivety of the man. They couldn’t believe he would wait for his mate. All the ones that were mated knew what it was like to have found a mate and then have to fight for them. It seemed to them that Lupin was willing to let his mate slip by him all to keep a friendship.
Moments later, they were taken out of their thoughts by Kiba’s voice coming through the door.

“Father, everyone I would like to introduce you all to my new sister.” Kiba exclaimed with a blank face, before pushing Demis into the room.


They watched as a young person was pushed into the room. The child was wearing a pair of leather pants with a blue silk shirt tuck inside. Black hair that with tiny braids.

“Well what do you know I have been blessed with four children?” Alex exclaimed as he went to stand beside the child. Then he leaned down to whisper into the child’s ear. “Demis you are one beautiful child. Did you forget that your own closet is full of clothing?”

“No father I didn’t. I woke up to early and climbed in sister’s bed. And when I woke up and showered realized there was no clothing in my sisters closet. So I just borrowed some of hers.” Demis whispered back in the best girly voice he could.

Alex roared in laughter, before steering the two to the table. Once his children were seated, he resumed his own without another word to anyone. While the others were looking at Demis like he was crazy. But Demis just smirked before fixing himself a cup of tea.

“Why would you want to dress as a girl Demis?” Selena asked as she looked at her godson/daughter.

“Why not godmother, I could use this to my advantage in the future.” Demis beamed at her with mischief in his eyes.

“He has you there Selena!” Alex exclaimed just as the food appeared on the table in front of them.


“Well I don’t see anything wrong with it. Just be careful little one for there are monsters among men and Beings alike.” Selena stated as she looked at the innocent eyes of Demis.

“I will besides I have my sister with me. And if anyone tries to harm me she will kill them.” Came the blunt reply of Demis as he began to fill his plate with food. Not noticing the look in Kiba’s eyes that said she would do just that. In turn caused all present to shiver slightly.


As everyone was slowly eating their breakfast, Remus was once again watching Demis through the corner of his eyes. He still wondered where the child had come from. The only information Alex would give him was that the boy was blood adopted as his male heir. And that he was to be left alone. But the familiarity of the boy bothered him greatly. He could not place him and with what happened when Sirius ran into the boy, made him want more answers.

“So Demis are you going to be starting the Academy this year?” Remus asked hoping he would get the boy alone during the year, as he knew that Kiba was always busy in the Fall.


Demis swallowed his food before answering, “No.”

“Come now you have to go to school and learn how to work your magic.” Remus pushed on, not paying attention to the others that had stopped eating and was listening to the conversation.

“I’m going with my sister to Japan. And learn magic from them and afterward, I’ll go wherever she does.” Demis stated with a passion trying not to let the man upset him, even though it wasn’t working.

“Don’t you feel that you’ll be in the way as Kiba works? I mean wouldn’t it be better to stay with your father and go to school at Tashio.” Remus stated coyly.

At that Demis looked up from his plate, at the man he deemed traitor with tears in his eyes. He couldn’t believe the man was trying to make him feel bad for wanting to be with his sister. He was about to say something when his new father roared out, causing him to jump slightly.

“ENOUGH!” Alex roared causing all present to jump except for Kiba. “Mr. Lupin, I will not have you bullying my son. He is under the tutelage of my daughter as such he will go with her and learn all she has to teach him.”

In that moment, Kiba stood up from her chair and lifted Demis into her arms. Smiling slightly as he wrapped around her as a child. A move that she would allow for as long as Demis felt he needed to. Turning to her father, she exclaimed coldly, “We will take our leave father, and until Mr. Lupin learns his place in pack order I will not have my little brother in his presence.” Before sharply turning from the table and shadow walking out of the room.


“I would watch my back Mr. Lupin for you have just made a powerful enemy.” Lucas snarled before he too left the room.


“I just thought the boy wanted to be with people his own age, as well as his parent.” Remus exclaimed with a sigh, he really did not need to make waves with these people and lose his job.


“Demis is not your average child Mr. Lupin. Furthermore, it is not your child to govern over, he is mine. If I thought he would be better off here, I would have made it so. But I know he is better off with Kiba, for she can teach him more than anyone.” Alex stated coldly before leading his mate and infant son away from the room.


“Tread carefully Lupin, for you no not what kind of enemies you’re making.” Dameon Strider the Professor of Necromancy exclaimed as he began to finish his meal.


“What do you mean?” Lupin asked as he too picked up his fork to take a bite of his meal.

“Vampire’s do not adopt children out of kindness. Demis was adopted for a purpose, one that I know not of. And for a Vampire Master as old as Alexandros to do such a thing, means Kiba has seen something. And that Demis will be apart of that. So I say again tread carefully, because whatever is coming you sure don’t want a part of it.” Dameon stated with conviction before leaving Lupin alone in the room to his thoughts.

“What the hell is going on here?” Remus whispered to the room, trying to make sense of everything he had been told. He now knew that the boy was adopted, so that meant he was from another family. Perhaps a family that had died or he was abused maybe. But that to him seemed far-fetched, but figured that he could have Sirius, look up the recent adoption files of boys between the ages of eleven and thirteen. Then maybe he would be able to narrow it down to who the boy belonged to first. As well as why the boy was adopted by the Master Vampire.

Jumping up quickly, Remus walked toward his chambers. For he wanted to voice these thoughts to Sirius even if the man was needing time to think about becoming his mate.
