Reunions and Retribution
"It's a villain's life I'm leading,
It's a villain's price I'll pay."
Villain's Price, Tyla and Spike
Aurelia stumbled out of the fireplace in the main living room, her eyes flashing wildly as she looked about her for any sign of her husband. Suddenly, she heard an indistinct buzz of conversation in the hallway and ran towards it, her heart pounding. Disregarding the other men standing with him, she saw only Lucius stood there, looking around his home imperiously. His hair was dirty and unkempt and his beard long and straggly, but Aurelia did not care. The light in his eyes was shining as brightly as ever, and the smirk on his face had not changed. Lucius caught sight of his wife framed in the doorway and opened his arms for her to fly into.
“My darling,” he said softly, his voice hoarse from lack of use, inhaling deeply as she leant her head against his chest. “I have missed you more than I ever thought was possible.”
“I have missed you just as much, my Lord,” Aurelia replied tearfully. “My life has not been worth living without you; if not for the children, I think I would have gone insane.”
Lucius held her close, and they stood wordlessly for a few moments, their hearts too full to express with words. The silence was broken when Voldemort strode into the hallway. He regarded them with ill-disguised distemper. “I am sorry to have to break up this touching family scene, but we have a meeting to hold,” he spat, gesturing to the other Death Eaters standing around them. “Lucius, we shall use the study.”
Lucius inclined his head and broke the embrace, instead slipping his arm around his wife’s waist. Aurelia leaned into him, still trembling with joy at having her husband back with her. They led the assorted Death Eaters into the study, where Voldemort sat behind the desk, surveying them. They stood in silence for what seemed an age before Voldemort rose and began to prowl the room, moving amongst them. “Few of you deserved your release,” he said menacingly. “However, fortunately for you, I am at a phase in my plans where I require your help. Not having had it for so long, I expect you to work extremely hard to repay me,” he spat, staring at Aurelia, who met his gaze challengingly.
“What can we do for you, master?” Bellatrix Lestrange asked excitedly.
He fixed her with a furious glare. “You, Bella, will be staying here to guard Lucius, Aurelia and the children, having proved that you are useful for little more.” Lucius opened his mouth to protest, but Voldemort held up his hand. “No, Lucius, my decision is final. She has taken an Unbreakable Vow to protect you all, after all, and my plans will be in tatters should anything happen to you or Aurelia.”
Bellatrix was clearly furious, but did not dare to disobey Voldemort. “Leave the room and begin your task, Bella,” he said dismissively. “The rest of you, listen carefully. I doubt you have heard whilst in Azkaban,” his lips thinned still further, “but Dumbledore is dead.”
There were shrieks of delight throughout the room, and Aurelia determinedly avoided her husband’s stare. “Master, please tell us how you achieved such a wonderful thing?” Antonin Dolohov asked.
“That is an interesting story, actually. Young Draco Malfoy was supposed to do it. However, he apparently found himself unable to kill his noble Headmaster,” Voldemort said, and no-one missed the dangerous tone to his voice. Lucius paled and held onto Aurelia tightly. “Lord and Lady Malfoy, perhaps you could tell me why that could be?”
Lucius’ eyes flashed angrily. “Master, you know I have done all I could to set Draco on the right path. When I was incarcerated, as far as I was aware Draco was excited about the task you had set him.”
“Aurelia?” Voldemort asked, turning to her.
“I had no idea that Draco had been set that task, master, I promise you, so I could not have done anything to turn him away from that path,” she said truthfully. “There has been no talk of him amongst the Order. I can only presume that perhaps the old fool got to him beforehand and Draco was not strong enough to resist.”
“Perhaps so. I shall find out before I kill him, no doubt.”
“Do you know where he is, master?” demanded Lucius. “I too would like to speak to him before he receives his punishment. I will not have him die without knowing that he can no longer regard himself a Malfoy,” he said coldly.
“I do not,” Voldemort replied grudgingly. “He disappeared after Dumbledore’s death, and I have been unable to locate him thus far. He cannot hide for much longer though.”
“But you said that the Mudblood lover is dead, master?” asked Avery elatedly.
“He is. Severus Snape cast the Killing Curse when Draco revealed his weakness.” With perfect timing, Severus swept into the room, bending down to kiss Voldemort’s robes. “Rise, Severus. I am well pleased with you. Now we are all here, I can reveal my plans. In an hour’s time, the Ministry will be staffed by the fewest possible wizards, as the remainder will be attending the fool’s funeral. Thus, we will take it over.”
“How do you propose to do that, master?” Severus asked, his eyebrows raised. Aurelia was struggling to hide her fear; there was no time to warn anybody of Voldemort’s plans.
“I have an army of werewolves, giants and Inferi standing by waiting for my call. They will supply us with all we need to take the building. When the high-ranking Ministry staff return, they will be killed. Without Dumbledore, none will be able to stand up to us.”
“Brilliant, master, as always,” said Lucius approvingly.
“I want all of you to return to your homes, freshen up and prepare yourselves for battle. Meet me outside the Ministry in precisely one hour’s time.” They all turned and left the room except for Lucius and Aurelia, who remained in Voldemort’s presence, each drawing strength from the nearness of the other.
“Lucius, go and get yourself ready. I require a private audience with your wife to discuss her whereabouts whilst you have been in prison,” Voldemort said softly. Lucius was clearly worried, but did not dare disobey Voldemort. Kissing Aurelia tenderly on the lips, he left the room, and Voldemort moved to stand behind Aurelia. “Well, well. Aurelia Malfoy. It seems so long since last we met,” he murmured. “Dumbledore protected you well, did he not?”
Aurelia knew she could not deny it, and nodded. “I told you my reasons for refusing you my service, master, but I did not believe that you would hold true to the terms of our agreement.”
He snaked an arm around her waist, and she tensed. “You would have been quite correct, precious. You will remember our plans, of course? Aurelia, you must agree that it has been impossible for us to work on them while you have hidden yourself away from me, has it not?”
“Our plans were a part of my service to you, master. My service to you is only guaranteed when Lucius is by my side, and I made that perfectly clear. You yourself agreed to those terms.”
Voldemort spun her around to face him, and she blanched when she saw the barely controlled fury on his face. “That is the only reason why I have not punished you, Aurelia. That and the fact that I will allow none other to bear my heir. You can consider yourself extremely fortunate.” He held her tightly against his body with one arm, his spare hand grazing across her breasts. “Now your service to me has resumed, you will come to me daily to work towards my goal of producing an heir. This will begin tomorrow.” Ferociously, he descended upon her mouth and kissed her passionately before pushing her away. “I will see you in an hour at the Ministry and at eight o’clock tomorrow evening.” He Apparated away, leaving Aurelia in tears on the floor.
She pulled herself to her feet once she was sure he had gone and ran upstairs in search of Lucius. Aurelia found him in the master bedroom, washed and shaven, looking out of the window. He turned concernedly as she ran in and crossed the room to where she stood shaking. “What did he say? Are you alright, darling?”
“I have not been punished for staying away from him as such, but I have to go to him every night until I conceive his child,” she said heavily.
Lucius cursed and held her tightly. “My love, I wish I had the power to stop him,” he said furiously.
“If only that were possible, my Lord,” Aurelia replied sadly. “But rest assured, I could put up with a lot worse now that I have you back by my side.”
Lucius raised his eyebrows. “How long do we have before we need to be at the Ministry?” he asked her, smirking.
“Oh, forty five minutes or so yet, I suppose. Why?”
Lucius did not reply with words. Instead, he tore off her robes, threw his house robe onto the floor and lifted Aurelia onto the bed. “I want you, wife,” he murmured huskily, and Aurelia felt a gush of wetness between her legs. “I have missed you so much, and I need you to make me whole again.”
The love she felt for her husband was bringing tears into her eyes as she returned his passionate embraces. “Make love to me, my Lord,” she begged him.
Lucius needed no further invitation, and hungrily kissed her mouth whilst his hands fumbled with her underwear, his burning desire for her making him clumsy. Finally, he ripped it away, and placed the tip of his engorged cock at her entrance. They were both too desperate for each other to waste time on further foreplay, and Lucius stared into her eyes as he drove his cock into her. Aurelia moaned loudly and thrust her hips up to meet his as they quickly settled into a familiar rhythm.
Lucius’ thrusts were deep and urgent. “I adore you, Aurelia. You are my world,” he declared passionately, caressing her breasts then flicking his fingers across her swollen clitoris.
“I cannot live without you, Lucius. Never leave me again, darling,” Aurelia pleaded, gasping as a strong wave of pleasure swept through her.
“I promise you,” he replied, kissing her neck as she came, his eyes rolling back as he joined her in orgasming before collapsing on top of her. When they regained their breath, he rolled off and smiled at her. “For a quickie, that was most satisfactory, wasn’t it darling?” he said with his customary smirk.
Blissfully, Aurelia nodded, her happiness to have her husband back knowing no bounds. However, it could not last for long, and almost instantaneously Voldemort’s plans returned to their minds.
“I suppose we should leave for the Ministry, then,” Aurelia said sadly, rising off the bed.
“Yes, the Dark Lord is angry enough with the Malfoys as it is,” Lucius said ruefully. “Will the children be cared for until after the battle?” he asked concernedly. “Come to that, where in Merlin’s name have you all been staying?”
“I cannot tell you, Lucius,” she said regretfully. “Uncle Albus put us all under the Fidelius Charm so that our master would be unable to find us. He seemed to doubt that I would be able to protect myself without you there.”
“Perhaps he was correct,” Lucius said darkly. “Even I cannot protect you as much as I should be able to.”
“Do not blame yourself, my Lord,” Aurelia said tenderly. “We both knew that we would have to make compromises when we entered the Dark Lord’s services. All I have to do to provide him with an heir and then my obligation will be over. I am sure he will want to raise the child himself, after all.”
“Yes, that much is true,” Lucius said, brightening. “Come on then, darling. I have been spoiling for a good duel these last few months,” he said as he twirled his wand through his fingers.
Lucius and Aurelia walked through the manor and Apparated hand in hand to the Ministry to join the great battle that was about to happen.
