Chapter 16
At breakfast, the Great Hall was buzzing with excitement. Hermione sat with her husband at the head table. This causing even more chatter. Albus rose to his feet, and the hall fell silent.
“First, I would like to welcome back Professor Snape, Harry, Hermione and Sirius Black. Now, I believe Professor Snape has an announcement to make. Professor Snape.” Albus said.
“Thank you Headmaster. I’m sure you have all heard rumors about me. Yes, I joined the ranks of the Death Eaters. I was young and had no idea what I was getting into. Two years later I came to the Headmaster for help. Thus began my career as a spy. This past summer, the Dark Lord found out.
“Earlier this school year, myself and Hermione began researching and brewing a potion that would hopefully weaken him. During that time we fell in love. On New Year’s Eve we married. That is why we were targeted. The Dark Lord told Pansy Parkinson to blow up the potion with us there. Then she stabbed my wife, nearly killing her. With the house unity, I or rather Hermione and I felt we should show that unity can be found if we all unite in this fight to defeat the Dark Lord.” Severus said as Hermione stood beside him with her arm around his waist.
The hall was silent for a moment or two. Then everyone broke out in cheers and applause. Severus the pulled his young wife into his arms and kissed her. The students and faculty clapped and cheered even more.
With it being Saturday, and the last weekend before exams, Albus scheduled a Hogsmeade weekend. The village was full of Order members and Aurors as well as faculty members. Severus and Hermione entered the village with Sirius and Katrina. Harry and Millicent had headed out with Ron, Ginny, Balise and a few others. As the two couples walked, they began talking.
“I never thought I would see the day when you would fall in love. Let alone get married Severus.” Katrina said.
“Tell me about it. I had given up on falling in love so long ago. I was beyond shocked when I realized I was in love with Hermione.” Severus replied.
“I know the feeling. After spending twelve years in Azkaban, you stop looking for love. That was until I ran into Katrina one summer night in London two years ago.” Sirius added.
“Well, I don’t care how or why it happened, but I’m glad it did.” Hermione said.
They were still talking and laughing as they walked through the shops. The other students paid little attention to them. They were too busy laughing and enjoying the beautiful summer day. Three hours later Hermione and Severus walked into the Three Broomsticks.
“Hermione! Professor!” Ginny called out.
“Hey guys.” Hermione greeted as she and Severus walked over.
“Professor Snape, Hermione, I…I just want to say, congratulation and good luck in the future.” Neville said.
Hermione smiled and hugged her friend. Neville then held his hand out toward Severus. Severus smiled and shook the young Wizard’s hand.
“Thank you Mr. Longbottom.” Severus said.
Just then, Padma Patel walked up and kissed Neville’s cheek.
“Sorry I’m late Nev. Oh hi Hermione, Professor. Congratulation on your marriage.” she greeted.
Severus and Hermione joined Ginny, Jonathon, Neville, Padma, Balise, Ron, Hannah, Millicent and Harry. For over two hours Severus and Hermione talked and laughed with the others. As they returned to the castle, Severus stopped Hermione as they halfway to the castle.
“Hermione, I love you. Thank you. For loving me.” he said.
“I love you too Severus. And you’re welcome.” she said.
Hermione leaned up and kissed him gently. After a minute or two they parted and continued on their way to the castle. The weekend flew by. On Monday, the students got their exam schedules. Hermione and her friends began to study like mad. Now that the truth was out, Hermione was staying with Severus in his chambers after her study sessions that week.
“Oh man.” Hermione sighed as she entered the sitting room and plopped onto the sofa.
“Can Oron gets yous anything Mistress Hermione?” Oron asked.
“I could go for some hot tea with lemon please.” Hermione answered.
Oron nodded and popped into the kitchen. Hermione sat on the sofa pinching the bridge of her nose, trying to relax. Severus entered the sitting room from his study.
“Hello my dear. How was the study group?” Severus asked.
“Stressful. At least I think we’ll all do fairly well on our exams next week.” Hermione answered.
Oron popped back into the sitting room with hot tea and some of his fresh sugar cakes. He smiled as Severus sat beside Hermione and began massaging her shoulders. After pouring the tea, Oron silently left the room.
“Severus! Hermione!” Minerva cried as she burst into the room.
“Minerva, what’s wrong?” Severus asked.
“Albus sent me to get you. He’s calling an emergency meeting of the Order.” Minerva gasped.
Severus and Hermione got to their feet and rushed out with Minerva on their heels. Within minutes they were in Albus’s office along with Harry, Ron, Remus and Sirius.
“Thank you for getting here so quickly. We are hurrying to 12 Grimmwauld Place right now. Everyone activate their port keys. One. Two. Three.” Albus said.
In the blink of an eye the group of eight port keyed away to headquarters. Once they arrived they headed for the kitchen where the rest of the Order was waiting. Albus called for silence.
“Thank you all for arriving so promptly. Now, our spies have discovered that Voldemort has freed his followers, that have not received the Dementor’s Kiss, from Azkaban. That includes Draco Malfoy. They have also managed to find out that Voldemort plans on attacking next Friday night when the staff and students are celebrating the end of exams.” Albus said.
“What do we do?” Charlie Weasley asked.
“The Aurors will be arriving in the morning. In the afternoon after the exams, the students below sixth year and those older students who choose not to fight, will be sent home. That is when I want the Order at Hogwarts. Now, let’s plan the battle strategy.” Albus answered.
For three hours the Order planned their move for the final battle. Finally they were allowed to leave. Severus and Hermione returned to their chambers.
“Does Master or Mistress needs anythings?” Oron asked as they entered the sitting room.
“No thanks. You get some sleep Oron. We’ll see you in the morning.” Hermione answered.
“Very well. Goods night.” Oron said as he disappeared.
“Severus, something wrong?” Hermione asked.
“Yes. Remember my premonition when the potion exploded? It’s starting. I’m scared. What if you get hurt? Or worse, killed? So far I’ve had two premonitions of you dying in the final battle.” Severus answered as he began pacing.
“Oh Severus. I told you before. So did Albus. You must accept that I may very well die in the battle. If that is my fate, know this. I love you. I will always love you and always be with you. Right now, we must focus on our duties for the battle. All right.” Hermione said as she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Severus turned in her arms and held her tightly. They slowly made their way to the bedroom. Once inside, they stripped down naked and climbed into bed. Both fell asleep holding one another.
The rest of the week passed. No one but the D.A., staff and Order, plus the Ministry, knew that Voldemort would be attacking. It was now Sunday. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Balise and Millicent were all seated under the beech tree near the lake talking.
“I’m scared.” Millicent said.
“I know Milli. We all are. Don’t worry though. I’m ready. I won’t let Voldemort win. I swear it.” Harry said as he put his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulders.
“The D.A.’s ready. Ron and I, with the help of Professor Lupin, have made sure that they would be as prepared as they can be.” Balise said.
“I really appreciate you guys continuing the work with D.A. Thanks.” Harry said with a grateful smile.
“Let’s stop talking about it. Please.” Hermione pleaded.
“What’s wrong Mione?” Ron asked.
“Well, Severus has had two premonitions of me dying in the final battle. He’s scared one of them will come true.” Hermione answered.
“Hermione, what does your heart tell you? I mean, does your heart tell you they will come true?” Millicent asked.
“I don’t know. It’s as if my heart is divided. Part of me is afraid they’ll come true, but there’s another part of me that feels Severus will find a way to prevent them.” Hermione answered.
The five friends sat outside for another hour before heading inside for dinner. At dinner Hermione sat with Severus. Both were quiet as they watched the students talking about the exams that were starting the next morning.
“Honey, let’s go for a walk.” Severus said as they finished dinner.
“I’d like that.” Hermione replied.
They grabbed each other’s hands and headed outside. Neither of them noticing the smiles they received from the students and faculty. They were silent as they made their way toward the lake. Once they were secluded from sight of the castle, they sat down along the shore.
“I’m scared Hermione.” Severus said.
“I know, so am I.” Hermione said.
He gathered her into his arms and sat her on his lap. They sat there watching the sun set and the stars and moon come out to play. Luckily it wasn’t a full moon that month.
“I don’t want my premonitions to come true Hermione. I can’t and won’t lose you.” he said sadly as he held her tighter and closer.
“Sshh. Let’s not think about that right now.” she whispered.
Hermione turned in his lap so she was facing him. She then kissed him. Hard and passionate. Severus wrapped his arms around her, crushing her body to his. Both giving into the passion that was taking over.
Severus laid them on the soft grass as they clawed at each other’s clothes. Frustrated, Hermione waved her hand and their clothes fell away and appeared folded neatly near them.
“When did you learn that?” he gasped.
“I’ll tell you later. Now shut up and kiss me.” she answered.
Severus did as she said. Hermione used her body and rolled them over. She was now in control. She felt him hard and throbbing against her stomach. She slid back and felt him slide fully into her in one thrust.
“Oh god!” she moaned.
“Aahh!” he sighed.
Severus began thrusting into her. Hard, full thrusts. Hermione was riding him, matching his thrusts perfectly.
“Oh Severus! Fuck me! Please!” she pleaded as she threw her head back.
“Hermione! God your pussy feels so good! Yes! Squeeze my cock!” he moaned.
Hermione placed her index finger against his lips. He sucked it into his mouth. After a few seconds she removed her finger and placed it in her own mouth. A few seconds alter she slid it down her body and began feverously fingering her clit.
“Oh yes Hermione! That’s it!” Severus growled as he sat up and began sucking at her neck.
“Severus! Yes! Make me come! Now!” Hermione cried as she arched her back.
“Ohhh! Hermione!”
“Aaahhh! Severus!”
They sat there holding each other, sweating and gasping for air. Softly they kissed as their racing hearts began to slow down to a normal rate. Severus summoned his wand, cleaned them up and redressed them.
“Come on, let’s got to our chambers and get some sleep. This next week is going to be hell.” he said.
Together they retreated to their chambers. Monday dawned clear and bright. Everyone was nervous. Nervous because of the exams, the upcoming battle or both. The students noticed the added security. Albus had already called in the Order and Aroras.
“Albus, do you think Harry is ready?” Minerva asked as they left the Great Hall.
“He’s ready. Plus all of his friends will be at his side. That will give him the strength he will need.” Albus answered.
That week seemed to crawl. Almost as if time were trying to prolong the inevitable. Finally, Friday hit. The adults, D.A. members and those sixth and seventh years staying to fight were on edge. Once the exams were finished, those not fighting were sent home. Those who remained, prepared for battle. Ready to take back their world from Voldemort at last.
