Title: The Marriage Law

Summery: The Ministry publicly tells the Wizarding world that the pureblooded families are in danger of dying out. To save the Wizarding world they pass the Marriage Law. How will a certain Muggle-born witch take it?

Chapter Seventeen: Names and Insults.

April started with the castle surrounded by rain. Hermione had gone to talk to Winky about the idea of being their house-elf. Snape had told her that it might bring up her spirts if she had a family to look after.
“ Oh Winky will be delighted Mistress Snape,” she winned. Dobby winked at her and she returned it. That night she told Snape about it.
“ Well I’m glad that she had taken it well,” he told her. “ So how far until you’re in your 2nd month?”
“ Two weeks.” She replied. “ The Morning Sickness is not over yet. I had to take four doses of that potion so that I could stand an hour of Arthmacy.”

Snape wondered if she was again taking on too much. It had been this simple fact that had caused her to be marriage material. Hermione spent more and more time readihe bhe book and joiting down the names that she believed would be perfect. Finally at the end of the first week of April she had at least then names, five for girls, and five for boys. She handed them to him.

He handed them back to her and asked her what she thought would be the best name for a witch or wizard.
“ Well I like Sakura for a girl, and Salizar for a boy.” Snape decided to note this in his mind. The next day while the students were at Hogsmead Hermione and Ivy went to the Hospital Wing to get checked out. Hermione noticed that there were two women that were also being checked out. Tonks was being looked over, and she wondered what Muggleborn wizard she had been married to.

“ Don’t you know, Tonks got married to Moody,” Ivy told her. “ I think that they’ve been in love for sometime.” Hermione was shocked that this had happened, but she guessed working in close quarters with him would do that to someone. Mrs. Longbottom was the other one.
“ Okay dear,” she told Tonks. Tonks put her Auror robes back on and left. Tara, Nevilles wife was next. She checked her over and when the nurse told her that she was expecting she just nodded and the nurse gave her instructions. Tara Longbottom left and the nurse motioned for Ivy to come forward.

“ So looking forward to this?” Madam Pomfrey asked. Ivy nodded. They chated for a while and then she was told that she was okay and that she could leave. Hermione waved goodbye to her and she was next.
“ Well next month we should beable to tell what sex the child will be, though from the looks of your belly you might be having more then one.” Hermione hoped that she was right, and then ten minutes later she was cleared and allowed to leave.

Lucius was waiting for Ivy when she returned. She told him that she was okay and for the t tit time he smiled. Though she was sure that he had done more smiling in the past. He bent down and kissed her and she accepted. He was not under the effects of a Lust Potion, but it seemed that the Potion had unleashed what he had never felt when he had been at school with her.
“ I want you,” he whispered. She wrapped her arms around him and they fell on the bed. She used her wand to remove their clothes and he started to touch her at once. She moaned and made little noises as he travled down her body. He got hard at once and she felt it.

“ Do you want me?” Lucius asked.
“ Oh gods yes,” she yelled. She placed a Silencing Charm on the door and then throwing her wand to the side she started to kiss him. He returned it and soon the sounds of their union filled the room along with the scent of pure sex. Professor Lupin who was passing by with his wife smelled it. He thought he was going to be sick, but with his wife around he just continued on.

The next day Hermione started to get to work for her exams. Even though they were two months away she wanted to do her best. Snape didn’t say anything to her, and she was grateful for it. Professor McGonagall and Hagrid found Hermione deep in the Library looking up names of Potions that she believed would be in the exam. They decided to leave her alone, as they knew how she got when she was interrupted. Later that afternoon when they returned she was gone.

Hermione meanwhile went to watch the team practice for their match in June against Ravenclaw. As their heir she was responsible for making sure that nothing happened to them. The Gryffindors were hoping that they would win so that they could claim the house cup for the fifth year running. Harry saw Hermione and waved at her, she returned it, finally night came and they couldn’t continue, and so the team and Hermione returned to the castle so that they could head to dinner.

“ Hermione I heard that you actually got Professor Snape into a baby shop, I wonder what that was like?” Jokerry rry in the middle of their second course. Hermione smiled at him, and then told him all about what had happened. Ron and Ginny both laughed about that, but several of the Gryffindors scowled at what they were talking about.
“ So have you figured out what you’re going to name your child?” Ginny asked.
“ Well I would like to call her Sakura if it’s a girl, and Salizar if it’s a boy.” Harry shook his head at that name.

“ What do you want, to have your child made fun of,” Ron pipped up what Harry had been afraid to say. Hermione looked at him.
“ For your information Salizar is a noble name.”
“ Ya and it’s the same name as the founder of Slytherin house, I knew that you were loyal to that house.” Hermione started to get mad.
“ For your information, what I call my child has nothing to do with house, I like the name and that is what he will be called if it’s a boy.”
“ I have a better idea why don’t you call it idiot.” Ron spat. Ginny and Harry knew that this was going to turn out all wrong. Ginny of course tried to calm things down.

“ Look Ron it’s just a name,” she told him. “ It’s her child.” Ron glared at her.
“ And what are you doing siding with her.” Ginny went red. She hated it when he treated her like a baby.
“ Why don’t you tell her your sorry,” Hermione yelled getting alittle louder.
“ And why don’t you just shut up, if you want to name your son after the founder of Slytherin house then it’s your problem if he’s made fun of. I of course wouldn’t want to be caught dead associating with someone like that.”

“ Is that your final word on the subject,” screamed Hermione. The whole hall looked at her, wondering what was going on.
“ Ya that is my final word, why don’t you go to the Slytherin table where you belong, you filthy Mudblood.” The whole hall looked at him in stone silence. Professor Dumbledore went pale with shock, Professor McGonagall had lost her ability to speak, Professor Lupin looked like he was ready to pounce on him, Professor Spout had fainted, Professor Flitwick took a double take, Madam Hooch was on the verge of taking her wand out, but it was Professor Snape that had a vain throbbing under his left eye.

Harry jumped up at once and pulled his wand out and pointed it at Ron.
“ How dare you call her that,” he spat. “ You who defended her against Malfoy.” Ron looked at his friend andt ret red.
“ I can’t believe that you’re defending her,” he said to Harry. “ She married Professor Snape.”
“ It doesn’t matter, you have no right to call her that.” Ron glared at him and then stormed out of the Great Hall. Hermione legs where shaking and Ginny helher her back to her seat.
“ I can’t believe he called me that,” she wimpered. “ He called me that horrible word.” She suddenly started to cry and Harry and Ginny had to take her to the Hospital Wing.

Madam Pomfrey have her a dose of Dreamless Sleep Potion that had a Calming Draught inside it. She went to sleep at once and she left to inform her friends that Mrs. Snape was asleep. Professor Snape was beyond angry. The last time that he had heard that word was when he had called Lily that. He had regretted it, and now his wife was being called that. Harry tried to calm him down, but he started to pace the floor.
“ I want his prefect badge taken away,” he roared. “ I want him suspended.”
“ Unfortantly I don’t have control over the Ministers son on his comments, but I can take his prefect badge away.” He turned to Harry. “ I want you to have it.” Harry nodded and he thought he saw a grateful look in Snape’s eyes.

Ron was mad when his badge was taken away and given to Harry. Hermione feared that Ron would go over the edge. Professor McGonagall didn’t take him off the team, but Harry felt as though with everything that had happened, that this was the end of their 6-year friendship. Ron wouldn’t talk to Harry and Hermione, and Harry and Hermione were fine with that.

A/N: I wanted to bring Ron to a boiling point with all that has happened in the story. I hope that you don’t get mad that I had him call Hermione that word.
