Chapter 17- Awakenings and Dreams


It had been two weeks since Hermione was attacked. Severus had never left her side. The security around the castle had been tripled. It was well past midnight one evening and Severus was sitting in a chair holding his wife’s hand. Her injuries had finally healed. The only thing wrong with her was that she still hadn’t woken up.


“Hermione, if you can hear me, please wake up. We all miss you and want you back. I know you will leave me when you’re well enough and I deserve that. Please come back.” Severus whispered.


“I…I…would…never…leave…you.” Hermione breathed.


Severus just started as he watched his wife’s eyes flutter open. She turned her head and stared into his black eyes. “Severus Damien Snape. I love you. I would never think about leaving you. What made you think that?” she asked weakly.


“Oh Hermione!” Severus cried as he pulled her into his arms and held her; tears of joy falling from his eyes as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “I…I…was afraid you would divorce me because I have been unable to protect you from Draco’s wrath. Please forgive me Hermione.”


“Severus, Severus look at me.” Hermione ordered as she reached up and turned his face towards hers. “It is not your fault. Draco would have found some way to get to me. You’re safe. That’s what matters to me.” She said looking deep into her husband’s eyes.


Severus leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers. It was now Hermione’s turn to cling to him. Severus held her to him as if she was the most fragile thing in the world. When they pulled away from air they just held onto each other.


“Hermione, I have to go notify Poppy that you are awake.” Severus reluctantly released her and left the room.


A minute or so later he returned with Poppy. Poppy quickly ran a check over Hermione.
“She is in perfect health. Hermione, I want you to stay one more day. Just to make sure you have your strength back. You and Severus can leave later this evening.”


Severus let out a yawn and Hermione noticed. “Severus, come here. I want to feel you wrap your arms around me while I sleep. Please.”


Severus didn’t need to be told twice. He quickly stripped down to his boxers and climbed into the bed with his wife. He gathered her tiny form into his arms and held her. Hermione sighed happily and quickly fell asleep in his arms. Severus laid there holding his wife once again in his arms.


‘If anyone is listening up there, thank you for returning her to me, she is everything to me. Thank you.’ Severus silently prayed as sleep overcame him.

Hermione woke up to the feel of her husband’s arms wrapped tightly around her. She looked up at his face. He seemed so peaceful. She reached up and gently kissed him softly. She watched as Severus slowly opened his eyes. Black met brown.


“You’re awake. It wasn’t a dream?” Severus asked hopefully.


“It was no dream. I’m here in your arms, awake.” Hermione answered.


Severus just held her to him and closed his eyes savoring the feel of her in his arms once more.

Meanwhile in the Gryffindor Tower Harry was tossing and turning.


*Harry’s Dream*


Harry was standing in a room. There were portraits all over the walls and beautiful furniture around the room. Suddenly the doors opened and in walked none other than Godric Gryffindor himself.


“You must be Harry Potter. I gather you here for a reason.” Godric said.


“I…I guess. My friend is in trouble. A professor at Hogwarts made some kind of prediction. The last thing she said was something about find the wand. Do you know what she meant sir?” Harry asked.


“Possibly. What has happened to your friend?” Godric inquired.


“Well, a student is out for revenge against Hermione and her husband Severus Snape. He has been slipping through our fingers. She was attacked. When she was recovering a member of the Order of the Phoenix was attacked. He said something about the Wand of Slytherin.” Harry answered.


“The Wand of Slytherin! Now I know why you are here. You, as my heir, are the only one that can save your friends. You must find the Wand of Gryffindor. In the Gryffindor tower there is a hidden cabinet that holds a book. Use the book to find the wand. The cabinet is next to the fireplace. Once you find it you will know what to do.” Godric explained.


“How can I use the wand and save my friends? Hermione and Severus are both being tested! Hermione’s strength is hanging on by a thread as well as Severus’s sanity! How can I find and stop something that I can’t see or I have no idea where to find him! Draco is hiding and has a wand that Salazar Slytherin created, what do I do?” Harry yelled.


The surroundings around Harry began to fade. As well as Godric Gryffindor. “I feel your friend is awake. Go to them. Tell them what I have told you. The book my boy. Use the book to find the answers you seek.” Godric instructed as everything faded.


*End Harry’s Dream*


Harry bolted upright in bed, gasping for air and covered in sweat. “Hermione! Severus!” Harry whispered. He quickly looked at his clock. It was 5:00 a.m. He got dressed and made his way to the infirmary.

“Severus, someone’s at the door.” Hermione said as she rested her head against his shoulder.


“I’ll get it.” Severus mumbled as he climbed out of bed and opened the door. “Harry? What are you doing here?” he asked as Harry entered the room.


“Hermione!” Harry cried as he hugged her tightly.


“Harry, I’m fine. Poppy said I could leave this evening. What are you doing here?” Hermione laughed.


“Do you guys remember the end of Trelawney’s prediction? When she said to find the wand?” Harry questioned.


“Yeah what about it.” Severus nodded.


“She meant the Wand of Gryffindor! I had this dream. I saw Godric Gryffindor himself. He told me that as his heir I was the only one who could save you two. He told me about a hidden cabinet in Gryffindor Tower. I would find a book there and the book would lead me to the wand.” Harry explained.


“I remember reading something about the Wand of Gryffindor. Harry, if you find the wand we could stop Malfoy.” Hermione spoke up.


“I know. But the problem is how do we find him? Do we have to wait till he strikes again?” Harry asked.


“Find the book Harry. Maybe there’s something in the book that will help us.” Severus instructed.


“I will. I’m going to wait till everyone is asleep. I can’t risk anyone finding the book or the wand before me. I won’t let you down. I’ll find the wand and stop Malfoy. I swear on my life I will.” Harry promised as he placed his hands over Hermione and Severus’s joined hands.


After fifteen minutes of working out a time for Harry to meet with them once the book was found Harry left to get an early breakfast. It being a Saturday, he and Ron were going to Hogsmeade. After Remus, Sirius, Ron, Minerva, and Albus all came by to see Hermione, she and Severus were finally alone once more.


“Darling, get some rest. You’ve had a long morning. Take a nap. I’ll be right here when you wake up.” Severus said kissing her sweetly.


“Hold me.” Hermione whispered tiredly.


Severus once more joined her in the bed and pulled her into his arms. Within seconds she was sound asleep.

They couple woke sometime in the late afternoon. They saw Poppy standing over them smiling. “Hermione, Severus, you two can return to your chambers. The students are still at Hogsmeade. Take care of her Severus. If anything goes wrong or you begin to feel bad Hermione send word to me. I’ll be there.” Poppy said.


Severus and Hermione nodded. Once Hermione was dressed the two made their way through the deserted castle to their chambers. Once in the privacy of their chambers they were once more wrapped in each other’s arms and their lips locked together.


“Oh god. Severus.” Hermione sighed as she felt his lips suckling on her neck.


She tangled her fingers in her hair as she held him at her neck. Severus began to navigate them into their bedroom. He quickly pulled out his wand to lock, place a silencing charm as well as the wards on the door. They tumbled onto the bed.


“Oh Hermione. You feel so good back in my arms.” Severus said as he covered her body with his own.


“Severus, I’ve missed you so much. I love you.” Hermione breathed as she captured his lips in a fiery kiss.


They quickly stripped one another’s clothes leaving them both naked. Severus pulled away only to pull the satin sheets over their bodies.


“Severus.” Hermione moaned as his hands slid down her body.


Hermione all but cried as she felt Severus slid one finger slowly and deep inside her.


“Hermione. Let me love you. Let me pleasure you.” Severus groaned as he kissed down her jaw and neck.


“Never stop Severus. Never.” She whispered.


Severus wrapped his lips around her left breast while his right hand began massaging her right breast. Hermione was in heaven. Feeling her husband’s mouth and hands on her body. She began rocking her hips against his hand and sighed as he slipped a second finger into her.


“More. Oh Severus I want to feel more.” She said.


Severus switched breast while moving his fingers faster within her. Then he placed his thumb against her swollen clit and began to softly rub it.


“Severus!” Hermione squealed as she felt the contact of his thumb against her clit.

Both spend and sated they collapsed onto the bed gently kissing and caressing each other. Severus held Hermione tightly to him refusing to slide out of her.


“Severus…that…was amazing.” Hermione sighed as lay in his arms, his dick still trapped within her.


“I agree. I love you Hermione. You and only you.” Severus whispered as he placed gentle kisses along her neck.


“Severus.” She said as she felt his length begin to harden inside her. Slowly she rocked her hips into him.

Hermione collapsed onto his chest breathing heavenly. Severus wrapped his arms around her trembling body.


“I love you.” Severus whispered.


“I love you too.” Hermione sighed tiredly.


“Let’s get some sleep then go down to dinner.” Severus said as he moved her over to his side. The two quickly succumbed to sleep.

“How is Hermione?” Lavender asked as her, Harry, Ginny, and Ron made their way back to the castle for dinner.


“She’s fine. She might be at dinner. When I went to see her today she looked fine. A bit weak but fine.” Harry answered as he draped his arms around Ginny.


“That’s good. I can’t wait to see her.” Lavender said as she leaned into Ron’s arms.


At dinner Hermione entered the Great Hall. As soon as she did the entire Gryffindor table erupted in cheers. She was finally able to sit with her friends after being welcomed back by her Gryffindors. Up at the staff table Severus smiled.


“I’m glad she’s awake and happy.” Sirius smiled.


“Me too. It felt so good to hold her again.” Severus said as he started eating.


“The Order and Ministry think they may have some leads as to where Malfoy is hiding. Albus is calling a meeting tonight after dinner. Will you be there Severus?” Remus asked.


“Yeah, I’ll have Harry and Ron take care of Hermione. When the meeting is over, could you two escort her back to our rooms?” Severus replied.


“Of course.” Remus nodded.


“No problem. Will you be in class on Monday?’ Sirius questioned.


“Yes. Hermione wants to get back to her normal life. Well as normal as it can be.” Severus sighed sadly.

Throughout dinner Hermione got caught up on what she had missed. Once dinner was over she met up with Remus and Severus. “Hermione, there is a meeting. We have a few leads about where to find Malfoy. I want you to go to Gryffindor tower with Harry and Ron. When the meeting is over Remus and Sirius will Come and get you. Alright?” Severus explained.


“Okay. I’ll go and catch up with them. They’re waiting for me anyway. I’ll see you later.” She said as she kissed Severus and headed off to meet her friends.


Severus, Remus and Sirius turned and headed for Albus’s office. Once they got there they found, Minerva, Kingsley, Moody and Arthur already there.


“How’s Hermione?” Arthur inquired.


“She’s fine. She is in Gryffindor tower with Harry, Ron, Miss Weasley and Miss Brown.” Severus answered as he took a seat.


“Let’s begin. Tonks has found some rather interesting news. She owled me and said that she came across some dark magic in the vicinity of the old Malfoy estate. She believes that’s where Draco and his friends are holding up.” Albus started things off.


“Tonks and few other members of the Order are currently staking out the old estate. So far they have not been able to get closer than a few yards of the estate.” Kingsley added.


“If that is the case, then how are we supposed to get close enough to destroy the wand?” Minerva asked.


“Harry can.” Severus said.


“How?” Sirius demanded.


“This morning, he came to me and Hermione. He had a dream. In the dream Godric Gryffindor told him about the Wand of Gryffindor. As the heir of Gryffindor only Harry can use the wand. He is currently looking for a hidden cabinet the Gryffindor told him about. Once the cabinet is found he will meet with me and Hermione.” Severus replied.


“Then that will be our game plan. The Wand of Gryffindor can destroy the evil within the Wand of Slytherin. Let us hope that Malfoy doesn’t find out about this. If he does, then no one will be safe.” Albus nodded.


“Albus, now that Malfoy has his three cronies with him, how can we better protect Hermione and Severus. I mean, she was attacked in a bathroom. What do we do? Have someone follow her everywhere she goes?” Moody questioned.


“I have no idea. Hermione needs to try and live her life as normal as possible. But she is still in great danger. I think we need to discuss this with Hermione. Perhaps she has some ideas.” Albus replied.


Everyone agreed.


“Can we hold off and talking to Hermione about this till tomorrow Headmaster?” Severus asked hopefully.


“Of course. Since there is nothing more to discuss this meeting is adjourned.” Albus nodded.


Severus headed for his rooms while Remus and Sirius went to get his wife and bring her home.

“Moony, do you think Harry will be able to beat the evil powers of Salazar Slytherin?” Sirius asked.


“Padfoot my friend, if anyone can defeat those powers it’s your godson Harry. He is the Heir of Gryffindor. We know this. He’s the son of James Potter. He will find a way to end this.” Remus said as they made their way to Gryffindor tower.

“Hermione, what is that?” Lavender asked as she pointed at Hermione’s wedding band.


“Ummm. Lavender, can you keep a secret?” Hermione asked.


“Of course.” Lavender answered.


“You see, in the beginning of the year when Malfoy first tried to rape me, it was Professor Snape that saved me, just like he did when I was in New York. When I was kidnapped by Malfoy and I was recovering, I was with Snape. We fell in love and we got married on New Year’s Eve.” Hermione said.


Lavender just stared at her for a moment then spoke. “Wow. Why didn’t you tell me? I wouldn’t have said anything. I gather the rest of you knew?” Lavender asked looking at the others.


“Well, Harry and Ron knew shortly after I was attacked. Ginny found out at the wedding. I would have told you but, Dumbledore made us promise to be discreet, and with Malfoy around, we couldn’t take any chances.” Hermione explained.


“Are you happy with him?” Lavender questioned.


“I am so happy with him. I love him so much.” Hermione responded.


“Then that’s what’s important. I will always be there for you and you can tell Snape the same thing.” Lavender beamed as she hugged Hermione tightly.


Just then there was a knock at the door and Remus and Sirius entered. “We are here to escort you to your rooms.” Remus said.


“Alright, night guys I’ll see you tomorrow.” Hermione waved as she followed Remus and Sirius out of the common room.


“How are you feeling Mione?” Sirius asked.


“Much better now that I’m with my husband and my friends. So, what happened at the meeting?” She answered.


As they walked down the corridors Remus and Sirius filled her in on what happened in the meeting. Once at the door to her and Severus’s chambers they each kissed her cheek, wished her good night, and left. Hermione entered the chambers and saw her husband lying on the couch with his eyes closed. Silently she made her way to his side, leaned down and placed a soft kiss on his cheek.


“Hey. Did you enjoy your evening with your friends?” Severus asked.


“Yes. Oh, we forgot to put the invisibility spell back on my ring. Lavender saw it.” Hermione said.


“Uh oh. What happened?” Severus groaned.


“Well, she said as long as I am happy then she’s happy for me. She said she would always be there for me and you too.” Hermione answered.


“Well, that’s one more ally we have. Now, Mrs. Snape, it’s time for bed.” Severus said with an evil smile.


“Then Mr. Snape, let’s go to bed.” Hermione smiled seductively as she headed for their bedroom.


Once they entered the room Severus slammed the door, placed a silencing charm, a do not disturb charm, and the wards. No one was going to interrupt the Snape’s till sometime the next day.
