Chapter 18
They found Hermione sitting cross-legged on the sofa with her arms crossed over her pregnant belly. Jamie shimmied out of Charlie’s arms and went back to watching the telly with his cousins. “You two had better be here to grovel,” Hermione said in a severe tone to her boys.
To her surprise, they both dropped down on their knees. They smirked at each other and then smiled back at her.
“We’ll do you one better,” Draco smirked.
“Will you marry us, Hermione?” Charlie, a large grin unfolding on his lips.
-o-o-o-o-o-o-
“You want me to marry you?” Hermione asked, blinking her eyes and looking down at them.
“That usually is the reason that people ask that question,” Draco said sarcastically.
“But how?” Hermione asked.
Charlie gave Draco an ‘I told you she would ask questions and not just answer ours’ kind of look. “Romania.”
“But you two are already married,” she said. “You can’t expect them to condone three-way marriages.”
Charlie smiled. “They do. When Draco and I got married, the vicar told me that if we ever needed him to add someone else to our mix, then I was welcome to come back. Even though I’m not a citizen anymore, since I was married there with Draco, we can still bring you into our marriage.”
Hermione smiled. “Really?”
“Yes,” Draco said, sounding annoyed. “So, are you going to marry us or what?”
“Of course I will, you idiot,” she said.
They both smiled. They each pulled a box out of their pockets and presented them in tandem to Hermione. Charlie opened his and it was a beautiful ruby set in a thin gold band with small diamonds surrounding it. He slipped it onto the ring finger on her left hand. Draco then opened his and it was a gorgeous platinum band with a large square-cut diamond. He slipped his onto the ring finger on her right hand.
She stared at her fingers for the longest time and then opened her arms up to pull them both into a hug. “Oh, my boys. I’ve been waiting so long for you to make up. Why were you away for so long? Why did you leave me alone for so long?”
“Well,” Draco said with a smirk. “We have another surprise for you.”
“What?” she asked with a smile.
Draco and Charlie stood up and brought Hermione with them. “Harry, can you watch Jamie until we get back?” Charlie asked.
“Sure,” he said, sounding slightly confused.
“Okay,” Draco said. “We have to apparate.” He pulled a silk tie out of his pocket and turned Hermione around, tying it tightly around her eyes so that she couldn’t see.
“Where are we going?” she asked sceptically.
“You’ll see,” Draco said, grabbing her close to himself. She felt herself being pulled away by apparition with Draco and heard the pop of Charlie arriving a moment later. “Mind your step,” Draco said into her ear. She felt stone below her feet and knew that she was outside. She could feel the light rain sprinkling on them.
“Where are we?” she asked softly.
She felt the tie loosen and drop from her eyes. When she looked up, she saw the most beautiful thing that she had ever seen in her life. It was a gorgeous two-story stone cottage. There was a little front garden with a brown fence around it and on the front gate it said ‘Stonehill Cottage.’ “What is this?”
Charlie put his lips to her ear. “It’s home.”
Hermione felt tears prickle her eyes. “You bought a house?”
“You didn’t think it would really take us six days to make up, did you?” Draco asked. “We’ve been moving everything here. Do you want to go inside?”
“Of course,” she smiled. They opened the gate and walked up the stone path to the front door. Draco unlocked the door and they walked inside.
“There’s four bedrooms,” Charlie said. “But we can add more if we need to.”
“A kitchen, lounge, dining room, two loos, and a back garden.”
“And a study,” Charlie added. “With your books and bookshelves already put in.”
Hermione walked into the lounge and saw a big crackling fireplace and the sofa and overstuffed armchair from the flat. “Oh Godric,” she sighed. “So that’s why you couldn’t floo in? You don’t have it connected to the network yet,” she asked.
Draco nudged Charlie. “See, she’s smart. I knew there was a reason we were marrying her.”
Charlie chuckled.
“Oh sod off,” she murmured, and then she turned around and hugged and kissed them both. “It’s absolutely perfect,” she said with tears in her eyes. “I love it, absolutely love it. I love you, both of you, so much.”
Charlie wiped the tears from her cheeks and grinned. “Love you, too, gorgeous.”
“Love,” Draco smiled. “We could never live without you.” He kissed her soundly.
A/N: I know it's really short, but I've been making everyone wait almost a year for Hermione's answer (which was obviously a yes, haha), and I felt bad about it. I'll try to wrap up this story in the next couple of weeks since I have a few weeks off for the Hols, and I will attempt to finish 'Mrs Malfoy' as well.
Thank you for you all staying with me this long, if you're still reading. Or anyone that just started reading. It makes me happy to know that people enjoy my stories. :)
