Chapter 18
Chapter 18
Hermione walked down to her rooms in tears. She knew that it was possible for someone to go after her parents, but she didn’t think they would now that Voldemort told everyone about Ruthie.
“I’m sorry Hermione. I can’t say it enough.” Harry said quietly.
“It’s not your fault Harry.”
“If you weren’t my friend then this wouldn’t have happened to you.”
“Yes it would have. Maybe not right away, but it would’ve happened anyway.”
They continued to walk together silently.
…..Meanwhile……
“Sverus, mummy cry.” Ruthie said.
“Yes she was.”
“Why?”
“I’m not sure.” He told her. He didn’t want to lie to her, but he also didn’t want to be the one to tell her about her grandparents. “Let’s go see if your mummy is back yet.”
“Kay.”
They walked down to Hermione’s rooms. They knocked and Harry let them in.
“How is she?” Snape asked.
“She went to her room. I don’t know how to help her. I never knew my parents.”
“I’ll go see her.”
“Ruthie, let’s watch a movie.” Harry said as Snape went to Hermione’s room.
Hermione was lying on her bed crying. Snape walked over and sat on the bed. She looked up at him and he took her in his arms.
“I’m so sorry.” He said.
“I don’t understand why this would happen. I mean if he told everyone about us why would he attack my parents. Surely he knew that it would make it worse.”
“I don’t know.”
“I need to go and arrange things.”
“When?”
“Tomorrow.”
“How long will you be gone?”
“A couple of days.”
“I should go with you.”
“You don’t have to.”
“I want to.” He said pulling her closer. She laid her head on his chest and they sat there. After twenty minutes her breathing evened out, Snape looked down and saw that she was asleep. He laid her on the bed, covered her with a blanket and went into the sitting room.
Harry heard the professor shut the door and into the room.
“How is she?”
“She’s sleeping. Tomorrow we’ll go and make the final arrangements.”
“Thank you Professor.”
“I’ll floo the kitchens for dinner.” Snape said going over to the fireplace. He placed the order and an elf told him it would be there soon, so he went and sat with Ruthie and Harry.
“What is this?” Severus asked watching the bears on the screen.
“Care Bears.” Harry replied.
“What is it about?”
“Bears that love everyone and everything.” Harry laughed.
“And why are we watching this?”
“Ruthie wanted to.” Harry said and thought for a moment. “Professor if Voldemort ever got a hold of Ruthie do you think he’d ever sit down and watch this with her?”
Snape smirked, “I think he would try to AK it.”
Then a house elf popped in with dinner. He set it on the table and left.
“Time to eat Ruthie.” Harry said.
“Mummy?” She asked.
“Mummy’s sleeping. She’ll eat later.” He replied.
The three of them sat at the table and ate. After dinner both males knew it was time for Ruthie’s bath, but neither wanted to give her one. They both felt uncomfortable with the idea.
“I’ll floo Minerva and see if she’ll come and give the girl a bath.” Snape said standing up.
“Thanks again Professor.”
Snape Floo-ed Minerva and she came right away. She bathed Ruthie and got her ready for bed.
“Are one of you going to say?” Minerva asked
“Yes” replied Harry.
Minerva left and shortly after putting Ruthie to bed Severus left too. Harry lay down on the couch and went to sleep.
The next morning Hermione got up. She didn’t remember going to bed last night. She checked on Ruthie and went to start breakfast and found Harry sleeping on her couch. She laughed to herself, at seeing the long body scrunched on her couch. She cooked eggs and bacon and was finished up the toast when Ruthie and Harry came into the kitchen.
“Good morning sleepyheads.” Hermione said.
“Morning.” Harry replied.
“Mmm” Said Ruthie.
They sat at the table and had breakfast.
“I need to go and arrange everything today Harry.” Hermione said.
“I know. I want to go with you.”
“You don’t need to Harry; Severus said that he would go.”
“I know Hermione, but…”
“I think it would be safer for you to stay here, but we could talk to Albus about it.”
“Okay.”
They finished breakfast and Hermione packed a couple of things for herself and Ruthie. She went to get Severus and they all walked up to Albus’s office. Harry asked about going as well and was told no. They weren’t sure this was another way to get Harry out in the open. Hermione and Ruthie said goodbye to Harry and they left.
-Authors Note- Sorry it\'s taken so long to get a new chapter up. the next one should be up in a day or two. And yes i do know that the chapters are numbered wrong...lol I\'m working on fixing it.
