Ch. 18. Family Dinner, Then What?

Tom detangled his leg from Lily’s small hands and lifted her up.

“Come on princess. Let’s eat!” he chirped and bounced her on his arm

“This is Lillian and Michael, my parents, Keith, my husband, his parents Ian and Isobel. This is Tom Riddle.”

“Hello Mr. Riddle, please sit down, you can leave the little chit on the floor by her toys.” Isobel said pleasantly with a cold glare in her eyes as she looked at Lily. Automatically Tom slid into game mode.

“I think I’ll keep her. She’s quite the adorable little princess.” He said as he sat down between Lilith ‘s empty seat and Lillian efficiently distancing himself from the unpleasant woman while not breaking any manner codex about sitting between a married spouses.

“She’ll disturb you eating, will she not?” Lillian asked.

“Oh no. Tom is quite adapt to small children. He has a godson just a little older than Lily. His name is Lucius.”

“Yes, I think Lily might have an admirer.” Tom chuckled.

“He has a son too – “ Tom stiffened. “Just a few months older than Lily. Sirius is such a lovely boy, if not quite a troublemaker. Does he get that from you?” Lilith asked sweetly.

“Um…” Tom stammered. That would explain why she had been a little tense. “Yes.”

“Because of what I’ve gathered, Cass- “ Tom held his breath “ – andra is very nurturing, if not slightly dominant.” He breathed out. This was going to be a long evening.
