Deceit

Deceit

A/N: This is the last eventful Chapter. The next chapter is the epilogue, and I will tell you now the epilogue is reeaaaalllly short. This chapter is nice and long though, the longest one so far. Special thanks to L’Vanna for helping me tweak it, and Please Review!

Severus’ heart pounded as he looked at the empty air where his wife had been just standing seconds ago.
Regaining his composure, Severus began the process of attempting to detect a signature on the apparation point. Zaraus was a Snape after all, so his signature would not be easy to detect.

As Severus scanned the apparition point, Adrienne sauntered over to him, a smug look on her face.

“Pity you are already married,” She said, aqua eyes sparkling viciously. “I think I should have liked to take a ride on that lean hard body of yours.”

“You deliberately provoked my wife, Miss DeLucia. You were attempting to drive a wedge between us, and that, I am afraid is grounds in itself for contractual rejection. You will not be a Snape. I do not stand for such blatant disrespect, and I will not have it in my family,” he said, black eyes burning fiercely.

Adrienne’s face hardened.

“Well that’s not really for you to decide now is it?”

Severus’ face bore an expression of confusion and anger.

“Just what the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?” he spat at the girl.

“You’re not really the head of the Snape family, now are you?”

“What do you plan to do, Miss DeLucia? Go to my father and beg to be contracted? Aside from the fact that he is hardly acting as family head these days, no one even knows where he is, and I assure you he is just as intolerant of disrespect as I am,” Severus replied coldly.

“For a Potions Master, you are rather daft, aren’t you?” Adrienne said callously.

Severus stopped his wand mid-scan.

“What are you on about?”

“Who the fuck do you think organized all this?”

Severus was taken aback by her careless use of such a profane word.

“If you do not explain to me what is going on right now, Miss DeLucia, I swear to all the gods I will Avada you where you stand,” Severus spat maliciously, wand pointing directly at Adrienne.

Adrienne paled. She knew Severus had killed before, and she knew he would not hesitate to kill again. She cleared her throat.

“All right, I’ll tell you if you lower your wand,” she said, fear etched on her face.

Severus hesitated and then took his wand off of her. He resumed scanning the spot for the signature.

“Sebastian came to Durmstrang, looking for Shanair. He wanted Shanair to help him exact revenge on you for using an unforgivable on him. Shanair turned him away coldly, claiming you were a far worse enemy than Sebastian.

“As Sebastian was leaving, he practically collided with me on the stairs. I had been looking for a decent pureblood family to contract to. I could have gone with the Malfoys, as the relation is quite distant, but I am not really one for having relations with a blood relative; no matter how distant.

“I recognized him as head of the Snape family, and I asked him what it would take to be considered for contract. I suppose he saw opportunity in me, because he told me that if I were to help him get revenge on you, I was guaranteed a contract.

“He told me to seduce Shanair, using lust potions if necessary, although it turned out I didn’t need them,” she smirked before continuing.

“I was supposed to come here and try and seduce you, or, at the very least, make your wife exceedingly jealous of me. The plan was to get her to run from the manor tonight so Zaraus could come and collect her for Sebastian,” she finished, looking at Severus as his face paled slightly.

“Is he planning to kill her?”

“Hardly. He wants you to suffer forever, not just grieve for a few years over another dead wife,” Adrienne said condescendingly. “I am not sure of his actual plans, but I do know he found a cure for his…..little hex,” she continued, a hint of disgust in her voice.

Severus’ wand locked on the signature, and he followed the path Zaraus had taken.

Zaraus arrived at the desolate house where Sebastian was waiting for him.

“If you do not stop punching and shouting, witch, I am going to stun you,” Zaraus growled angrily.

He was glad Hermione had been so careless as to leave her wand in the house before going to spy on Adrienne and Severus. He did not know how he would have managed to bring her here if she had not left it.

“How DARE you?? Take me back RIGHT NOW!!” Hermione shrieked, punching Zaraus’ back, fighting desperately to get away from him.

Zaraus had had enough. He stunned the witch, who fell limp, allowing him to carry her more easily into the house, where Sebastian waited.

Sebastian waited by a crackling fire, brandy snifter in hand. He heard the banging of the decrepit door being opened and looked up as Zaraus entered the room carrying a limp Hermione. He set the snifter down and rubbed his hands together as he approached them.

“Well done Zaraus! Well done indeed! Tonight, my son will rue the day he cast a crucio on me,” he said maniacally as Zaraus lowered the unconscious witch to the floor.

“Much to do, Zaraus, much to do. Bind her hands and feet, so that she does not escape while we prepare the room. If she has not revived by the time we are finished, we will unbind her before she takes he pepperup potion,” he said, walking toward a doorway to the right of the fireplace.

Severus landed in what appeared to be a desolate field. There was wild wheat growing all around, and not a visible domicile in existence. He knew this could not be the place Zaraus had taken his wife. He took out his wand, and cut through the air with it, trying to find the apparation particles Zaraus had to have left behind.

He located the particles, and began the work of detecting the Signature once again. This time would be faster, he hoped. He was sure his father had told Zaraus to put new wards on his Signature at each stop.

“Well this could certainly take some time,” he said aloud bitterly, allowing his work to consume him.

When Hermione awoke, two things struck her. The first being that she tasted peppermint in her mouth, and the second being that her head felt like it had split in two. After these things registered, she remembered where she was, and who had brought her. Her eyes focused on a pair of highly polished black shoes, and she slowly looked up, to meet the face of Sebastian Snape. Her eyes narrowed.

“You,” she said venomously. “What do you want with me?”

“My dear little witch, look around you. Are you not reminded of something?” Sebastian asked her, smiling wickedly.

That’s when Hermione realized she was not wearing the same robes she had been wearing when Zaraus had snatched her. She looked down to find a sheer, flowing white gown with angled long sleeves….her ceremonial contract gown, the one she had worn for her binding.

With a shudder, Hermione scanned the room. Horror coursed through her as she immediately recognized the room to be an exact replica of the room in which her binding had taken place.

“W-what’s going on?” She asked, voice wavering.

“I thought you were supposed to be clever,” Sebastian smirked.

Hermione scowled at him.

“Why are you doing this?”

“Dear girl, I am only going to take what is rightfully mine. My son sealed your fate when he had the audacity to use an unforgivable on me. I may not get your maidenhead, but I will get your first child,” he sneered, eyes sweeping over Hermione’s delicate frame.

When Severus arrived in the forest, he knew it was once again not the place he would find his wife. This time he was completely prepared. He detected the particles almost within an instant, and dutifully began to break the signature.

Hermione blinked back tears as Sebastian’s words registered to her.

“Well I am sorry to be the wrench in your cogs, Sebastian, but that is not possible,” she said evenly.

“Are you barren?? How DARE you allow the Snape family to contract a barren witch!!“ Sebastian growled, visibly irate.

Hermione’s expression hardened.

“No, you ignorant bag of thestral dung. I am already pregnant,” Hermione said. “I found out this afternoon.”

Sebastian’s eyes narrowed.

“There are ways to fix that, witch,” he sneered.

“What, are you to kill your own grandchild? Besides, even if you do kill my baby, Severus will rescue me long before you could get me pregnant again,” Hermione said plainly, though fear was an evident undertone in her voice.

“Are you certain of that, witch? Are you sure he is not ‘otherwise engaged?’” Sebastian asked her coldly

“He may have kissed her, but he would not make love to her,” Hermione said, although she remained somewhat doubtful.

“Perhaps we should see about that,” Sebastian said, taking what appeared to be an index card from his pocket. “This is a special monitor that will allow me to focus on any individual within my family. Severus, although acting as Head, is unaware of this device. Let’s see what our dear Sevvie is up to, shall we?” he said tapping the card with his wand.

“Focus on Severus” he commanded. An image appeared on the card. Severus’ lean body was covering Adrienne’s creamy one. The pair was moving in controlled rhythm, faces twisted in pleasure. “It seems coming to your aid is the last thing on Severus’ mind,” Sebastian said, grinning evilly.

Hermione’s eyes brimmed with tears.

“There’s still the matter of the fidelity charm,” Hermione said blankly. “No one but Severus can penetrate me.”

“You may think me a--what did you call it? Ah, yes, ignorant bag of thestral dung,” he said, articulating his words, “but I am no fool. I knew Severus would put such a charm on you. Fortunately, I have a way around that too,” he said, and tapped his wand on her inner thigh.

Hermione felt a tingling sensation in her core, and knew that the charm had been dissolved.

“And what of your ‘problem?’ How do you plan to work with a dysfunctional tool?”

“Also taken care of,” Sebastian growled through clenched teeth.

“Well I guess you’ve got it all figured out then,” Hermione said, tears on her cheeks.

“Indeed I have,” he replied, eyes burning into hers.

Severus looked around him when the ground stopped spinning. He was standing before a very shabby house, most certainly derelict. He knew instantly this was the place. There would certainly be wards, and he set about disabling them, hoping he was not too late for what he certainly hoped was not happening to his wife.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hermione bit her lip, trying to fight the sensations her body was feeling as Sebastian touched her tattoo. He had not killed her baby yet, and refused to do so until she begged him to take her. It was part of his sick game.

“Oh yes, you like that, don’t you witch?”

Hermione kept her mouth clenched shut.

“Beg me, witch. Beg me to take you,” he whispered into her ear, trying to tempt her.

Tears streamed down Hermione’s face as Sebastian moved his other hand to cup her soft breast. She did not want to give in to him. The idea of being fucked by Sebastian Snape was revolting, but because of her contract, her body responded to a Snape’s touch of the tattoo. She tensed up her body, praying silently he would stop.

“Your will cannot outlive my own,” Sebastian said coolly. “You will give in to me. I will kill that vile child of yours.”

Suddenly the door flew open and Severus swooped into the room, tackling his father.

“How dare you kidnap my wife?” He demanded.

Zaraus started to walk toward him, as if to challenge him. Severus flicked his wand at the animagus and Zaraus was instantly bound and gagged on the floor.

Severus then pointed his wand between his father’s eyes.

“What were you planning to do, Father?” he asked the older man icily.

Sebastian held his tongue.

“Very well,” Severus said calmly, and grabbed his father by the neck.

He dragged the man to the corner of the room, and shoved him in a wedged space between two bookshelves. With a flick of his wand, Sebastian became a toilet.

“You will remain in this form for at least twenty years old man, and with any luck you will have died before that day comes,” Severus spat at the toilet he knew could hear him.

Shaking with anger, he walked back over to his wife, who still lay on the floor in shock. He extended a hand to help her to her feet.

“Are you hurt?” He asked her, anger beginning to subside.

“I-I-uh, but th-the screen,“ she said, eyes welling up again. “You and Adrienne, in the screen.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Sebastian. He showed me a screen, a surveillance of you and Adrienne, in our bed,” she said tears spilling over her cheeks.

“Hermione whatever you saw, did not happen, he said, brushing a tear from her cheek. “ came after you the moment I saw you running away. I have been following Zaraus this whole time, breaking his signature apparating behind you.”

Suddenly, Zaraus moved in the corner. Severus, without even looking at him, waved his wand and Zaraus became a bit of parchment on the floor.

“Suffice it to say, Adrienne will not be joining our family, Severus said. “She was part of my father’s plan for revenge.”

Hermione smiled weakly at him.

“Did you know what my father was planning to do?” Severus asked her

Hermione nodded.

“And….did he?” Severus asked nervously.

“No. He couldn’t…..I am already pregnant,” she said, eyes meeting his.

“What? How long?”

“I found out this afternoon,” She said smiling at him. “And Severus?”

“Yes?”

“Please don’t make me pick a name for him that starts with an ‘S’” Hermione said, grinning.

“Another boy?”

“Another boy.”

Severus smiled as he lead her towards the door. Once they were outside, Severus gripped Hermione’s hand tightly and apparated her back to the manor.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Get out.” Hermione said evenly to a confused Adrienne who was brushing her hair.

“I’ll not be going anywhere. I was promised a rightful place in your family,” Adrienne said defiantly.

“Ah yes, about that,” Severus said, walking into the room. “My wife and I have decided to uphold my father’s end of the deal for you, as you were promised a rightful place among us,” Severus said, holding back a grin. “Come and receive your ceremonial tattoo.”

Adrienne stepped forward, and Severus pointed his wand at her hip, the tattoo burning into her flesh.

“I have already taken the liberty of deciding whom you shall wed,” Severus said, eyebrows raised.

Adrienne looked confused.

A young man of about twenty entered the room. His face was covered in horrible scars, and his teeth were rotted out of his head.

“This is Sechariah Snape, My fourth cousin,” Severus said. “He lives in Norway. I hope you get used to layered robes,” Severus said, smirking.

“This is not right! I am supposed to marry Shanair!”

“Yes, well, after careful consideration, Shanair decided he did not want to marry someone so willing to betray his father and stepmother,” Hermione said icily.

“It just so happens that Sechariah has been looking for a beautiful wife to settle down with. He is a squib, and so was not accepted to a magical school, and, upon finding that muggle school was not for him, decided to discontinue his education. He has an emu farm, and you will be expected to help out,” Severus said.

Sechariah smiled at Adrienne, decayed teeth showing very prominently.

“I can’t wait until we are married. I would like to have a pretty bird like you to lose my virginity to,” he wheezed at her.

Adrienne’s face was contorted with horror as Sechariah grabbed her by the wrist and ported them away with the portkey Severus had activated for him.

Hermione never thought she would stop laughing.

“No one crosses a Snape and gets away with it,” Severus told her, kissing the top of her head. “I think a celebration is in order,” he said raising his eyebrows at her.

Hermione smiled as her husband picked her up and carried her to their bedroom to “celebrate” conception of their son.
