Chapter eighteen: OotP meeting

Amelia sat in her seat at the table in 12 Grimmauld place for another OOTP meeting. Today’s meeting was to discus the fact that Amelia was having a child with Severus and what they were going to do about it.

“Now everyone thank you for coming. I have called this meeting on the basis of Amelia’s new lifestyle.” The order didn’t do anything. “Amelia and Severus will be having their first child.” The table broke out in to words.

“Congratulations.” Tonks turned to Amelia and Severus. Severus just nodded, not really wanting to comment.

“Thanks Tonks.” Amelia smiled happily.

“Us girls could have more of a chat after the meeting.” Tonks muttered excitedly. “How exciting a baby. And one from Severus Snape too. Highly exciting.” Amelia broke out in to laughter. The rest of the order gave them congratulations. Amelia sat there smiling excitedly as Severus sat there looking as normal as he always did. Amelia knew that he was excited inside.

“Thanks all of you.” Amelia said once everyone had said their congratulations.

“It is very exciting news. Amelia Severus and I have had a chat a couple of days ago about what to do. I think-”

“I think that we should not risk having Amelia go back to her father.” Remus interrupted. “You never know what will happen once her finds out. This child may be just what he needs.” The order murmured. Amelia didn’t know what he meant but her child being what her father needed couldn’t be too good.

“I agree.” Severus blurted. Amelia looked at him.

“Severus just be quiet. I want to go and see my father.” Amelia whispered.

“Remus you are highly right.” Madeye Moody interjected. “But I think Amelia should keep going to the meetings. He will never know.”

“Yes.” Amelia nodded. “But I want to do something first. I need to see my father once more, if that doesn’t work then I suppose I can do what Remus said or just try and hide everything, as Alastor said; he will not notice.”

“Amelia should be given a go. It is her life, she should do what she wants to do.” Bill piped up.

“I guess it is time for a vote. Those of you who think she should not go raise your hands.” Only 8 people raised their hands. “By one less vote Amelia has what she wants. She shall keep going to see her father.”

“Good.” Amelia sat back happily. Severus looked slightly upset. “Sorry Severus but I really want to do this.”

“I know you do, but I don’t.”

“I guessed that.” Amelia chuckled.

“But it would be better if you wouldn’t tell anyone anything about you being pregnant incase it leaked somehow.” Elphias Doge said.

“Yes, we had already talked about that.”

“Come Amelia, let the men talk, us girls will go in the kitchen.” Tonks pulled Amelia up from her chair. Tonks took Amelia in to the kitchen. All the women in the order sat around the kitchen table.

“Congratulations Amelia dear.” Molly stepped forward. “Children are wonderful things. Arthur and I had seven ourselves.”

“Yes.” Amelia laughed. She sat down at the table. “Were any of your children hard to cope with?”

“Oh dear no. Only Fred and George. Then were fine at birth but when they turned two oh Merlin were they little terrors.” Molly put down a cup of tea in front of Amelia.

“I can’t wait to see this little one.” Tonks sat on the edge of her seat.

“Neither can I. I wonder if it will look like his mother or his father.” Hestia Jones laughed. Amelia laughed with her.

“This will be the first time a child will be at Hogwarts in a very long time.” McGonagall said.

“Oh I suppose so.” Amelia nodded once.

“How much longer till the birth?” Emmaline Vance asked.

“Should be about six months now.” Amelia replied.

“Not that long.”

“Well to me it is.”

“That child will be out in no time.” Molly assured.

“Children bring lots of joy in to peoples lives.” Arabella Figg said. “Maybe Severus will change after it is born.”

“I don’t really want him to change. He probably will. It would be a good thing though. A baby can’t have a rough father.” Amelia softly patted her stomach.

“Oh can I have a feel?” Tonks asked.

“Yeah sure. There isn’t much to feel though.” Amelia placed Tonks’ hand on to her stomach.

“Well I’ll feel this in a few months from now an I bet that kid would be kicking its guts out.” Tonks took away her hand.

“I hope not.” Amelia chuckled. The kitchen door opened and Severus came in.

“Amelia.” Severus called. Amelia turned to him and stood up.

“What?”

“Come.” Severus took Amelia’s arm and walked her out of the kitchen and in to the lounge room. “Can we please go?”

“Why?”

“Because it is just odd. I had Arthur come up to me and give me a speech on how to raise kids. Please can we go.”

“Severus you can go yourself I’m having fun.” Amelia smiled.

“Fine.” Severus reached in to his pocket and pulled out his portkey.

“I’ll see you later.” Amelia kissed Severus’ cheek.

“Yes.” Severus began to disappear. Amelia walked back in to the kitchen.
“What did he want?” Tonks asked.

“To leave, he was feeling a little awkward I suppose.” Amelia sat down in her spot.
