Chapter Sixteen
(Divide and Conquer)
Thursday for some was the greatest disaster not worth treading through.
Six performances of monologue and three people broke down in tears when they were criticized about their performance.
Lucky for Hermione, she went last.
It gave her enough time practice and listen to what the professor was looking for and what not.
When her name was called, Hermione threw her script in the trash.
The stage waits for no one as she walked towards her maker.
Under the spotlight, Hermione stood center stage, ready to impress the professor.
Her hazel eyes glisten with determination.
She will not lose.
“Whenever you’re ready, Ms. Granger, don’t rush.” Came the calm voice of the professor.
She nodded.
She’s been ready for a week.
She inhaled deeply, closed her eyes, and let the words of dear William Shakespeare flow from her lips. “Fie, Fie, unknit that threat’ning unkind brow and dart not scornful glances from those eyes to wound thy lord, thy king, thy governor.” She looked out into her audience, pretending that they were the ladies she was addressing. “I am ashamed that women are so simple to offer war where they should kneel for peace, or seek for rule, supremacy, and sway, why they are bound to serve, love, and obey.”
Ten minutes into her lines, she became one with her character. She moved about the stage in a grace no one ever saw her move. There was something airy about the way she spoke, or how she would look about the stage in a strange gentleness many know that the fiery Gryffindor rarely shows. By the end of her monologue, she received standing ovation from her fellow peers.
Hermione smiled widely and bowed. “Thank you.” She said to everyone.
“I see you have just mastered the art of acting, Ms. Granger.” The woman said after all the applause seized. "Congratulations."
Hermione cheered loudly on the stage.
The smartest witch is now the most talented witch.
All she had to do is conquer her fear of heights and then she can take on the world.

Heads up...the line Hermione did was from William Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew", Katherine's monologue at the end of Act 5.
My favorite comedy.
Ah...enjoy...
