Moons and Mistakes
Okay. I lost my muse for a LONG time. I didn't abandon this story. As a matter of fact, I had an entire chapter written before I chucked it, because it sucked monkey nipples. So...you now have a new chappie...it's a bit short...but it's packed full of action-y goodness!!
smurphy - I'm glad you liked the Hermione/Draco bit. And yes...Bella is a twisted bitch. She has a son...who we won't be able to meet for a while...because it's important I keep his identity a secret for now... ^_^
margaritama - That pic was hard enough! Hmm...I'll try to answer your questions the best I can...1) We have NOT met Bella's son yet. 2)Draco is indeed a widower. He said a few chapters earlier that his wife passed away. 3) Draco and Hermione will be pretty big later on. Right now it's the Unseen. I hope no one gets put off by that. When Draco and Hermione come out...they'll COME OUT. 4) Hmm...is the Dark Lord gone? I can't answer that. Too much would be given away. 5) Fenrir will definitely get what's coming to him. I always have the good guys win out. I'm a marshmallow like that...0_o 6) The Unseen have no idea what to expect right now. All James knows is that Bella was behind Aden's attack. He has no idea what she knows, and when she'll strike. He's scratching in the dark here... And I do not have a LiveJournal. Sorries.
Starrynite45 - Is the kid Fenrir's? Can you be sure of that? I wouldn't be so sure....Draco and Hermione did take a big step, and they'll have to do little ones from here on out, but their little steps will add up. Cross my heart. I'm glad you like James.
LolaDiBlack - Wow! Way too much to respond too all at once. I'm glad you liked both chapters, and enjoyed Dragon-man theme. Prejudice is a HUGE part of my story. It's crucial, and it's going to be everywhere! But we'll see what we can do to fix it at the end. ~_0 Glad you liked Sevvies' back-story. ANd I'm SO glad you like James as much as you do. I imagined him as hot as his grandfather, without the sass, and more confident in his looks than his father. Besides...fangs are hawt. *fans face* Q_Q....we didn't have mistletoe...I guess that's a good thing, though, since the only people who came to my house were FAMILY!!! HEE!
Lady_Winterhart_Z.C. - That's a hilarious question. But...I can't answer it anyway...it's plotty goodness. We'll find out later, though. Promise. Now...I hope you like this chappie!!

The first full moon at Hogwarts was something that all of the students were nervous about. There were two known werewolves in the building and on the grounds. Phelan and Romulus both had tried their hand at calming the students, but both could still sense the nervous fear.
That evening the Hall was relatively quiet as they ate dinner. Most of the students kept stealing glances at the two staff members that would be making a dangerous transformation that evening. They looked as if everything were normal in the world. But to them, it was. They were used to the transformations. They had never known life without them. And they accepted their curse. Remus’ transformations had been hard because he tried to reject the wolf. But if he would only accept the beast he would have been much better off.
As dinner was coming to a close, Phelan and Romulus stood from the table, attracting the attention of every student in the hall. Phelan raised a grey eyebrow at them.
“They act as if we’re off to murder the innocents…” Romulus said.
Phelan only grunted as they exited the Hall. They had decided to take their transformation down in the Forest, as it was the last place the students would visit during a full moon.
The sun was already starting to dip behind the horizon as the two men strolled to the forest. They sat at the edge, waiting for the moon to appear.
“Phelan? What are we going to do tonight?” Romulus asked.
“Why…the same thing we do every full moon, Rome. We’re going to try and take over the world.” Phelan joked. Romulus gave a short bark of a laugh, before his head tilted upward to watch the sky. When the moon came into sight after several clouds gave way, the two tensed up slightly.
Their transformation was quick and relatively painless, and soon there were two wolves sitting in the place that the men once were.
Phelan immediately nipped at Romulus’ tail, and the two were off, frolicking through the forest like puppies. They ran between the trees, racing playfully. As they approached a clearing in the woods, Phelan looked up. His yellow eyes caught sight of the full moon and he paused. Romulus came up beside him, his own head tilting up as well.
Phelan then howled. It was a lonely, terrible sound, but it made Phelan feel alive. Romulus joined him, and the sound of two wolves howling reached up to even the school.
Unbeknownst to them, a curious student had followed them down to the forest.
Rhea Silvia, a fifth year Gryffindor, had been fascinated with the wolfish staff members since their first day. She had watched as they traded their silver cutlery in for steel, and stared as they ordered their meats uncooked. She had followed them downwind to the forest to watch the transformation, wanting to see it firsthand. It was a truly magnificent thing to watch.
When they took off through the woods, she followed them. She knew it was dangerous…but how many other werewolves would go so close to two fully grown males? She had no idea that her human scent would attract the attention of a very large, very hungry Fenrir, who had been watching his cub from a distance.
Fenrir followed Rhea, his large paws barely making a sound over the leaves. She jogged after the two playing wolves, pausing when they stopped at the clearing. She couldn’t suppress the shiver she felt when they howled. It was such a terrifying sound…
She paused when she heard a small snap behind her. Her eyes widening, she slowly turned around, all color draining from her face when she saw Fenrir. His form was huge. He could easily put his front paws on her shoulders and be twice her height. She stared into his contracted, yellow eyes, to afraid to make a sound.
All that was on Fenrir’s mind was the taste of human flesh, and the thrill of the kill. He liked the young ones….they were so sweet.
One large paw lifted, and he took a step towards her. Rhea found her voice, and screamed loudly.
Fenrir lunged.
~~
Phelan’s wolfish head snapped towards the sound of a female scream. There wasn’t supposed to be anyone out here tonight! What part of there are fucking werewolves in the forest did those damned kids not understand?!
Phelan and Romulus took off towards the sound, their paws tearing up leaves as they ran.
They came upon a terrifying sight. There was a very large male werewolf dragging a student by her arm, obviously off to find a place to devour his still-kicking meal.
Phelan recognized Fenrir immediately, and bared his fangs, snarling fiercely. Romulus was no alpha, but with two fully grown wolves together, they might be able to fend off the great brute. And so Romulus snarled as well.
Fenrir let go of his prize, and Rhea scuttled up against a tree, holding her shredded arm close to her. He turned to the two smaller wolves, and bared his teeth. His teeth were yellow and stained with blood, sharpened in his human form, razor in his wolf-form.
Fenrir lunged at Romulus, taking the smaller wolf to the ground, his teeth immediately going for the jugular. Phelan attacked, grabbing the back of his father’s neck with his own sharpened teeth, and jerking the large wolf from his friend.
Rhea watched as the three wolves fought tooth and claw. Blood, spittle, and fur flew everywhere. Phelan and Romulus were finally victorious, and a yelping Fenrir limped off into the forest to tend to his wounds and find a private place to rest before he changed back. Romulus fell to the ground, exhausted and bleeding. Phelan looked over at the white-faced Rhea, and whimpered when he saw her arm.
He limped over to her, and she recoiled in terror. He nuzzled her leg gingerly, and sensed her fear abate somewhat. She reached out tentatively with her good hand, and rand her palm over his transformed face. He leaned into the caress like a petted dog, and she gave a weak smile.
“I’m sorry.” She said softly. “I just wanted to see you change. I d-didn’t realize there w-would be others…” she said. She pulled her hand away, and her eyes started to unfocus. Phelan whined softly. “I don’t f-feel so w-well.” She said, and then slumped forward. Romulus came over to the now unconscious student, and prodded her with a paw. She was out cold, and losing blood fast. Phelan laid down on his stomach, and barked at Romulus.
Romulus grabbed the collar of Rhea’s school robes with his teeth, and dragged her as gentle as he could over Phelan’s back. Phelan then started the slow, and very agonizing journey back up to the school with a student on his shredded back.
Oh gods…the press was going to have a fucking field day…!
~~
When Rhea awoke, it was to the feeling of Draca washing her face with a cool cloth.
“Oh my….she’s awake.” Draca said softly.
“Terrific.”
Rhea opened her eyes a bit, and saw the Headmaster staring at her, his arms crossed over his chest. His black eyes were emotionless, but his mouth was drawn downward. Uh oh….he was pissed.
“You snuck off of school grounds at night to go down into the Forbidden Forest….which is dangerous on a good night! Not only did you break those two rules, but you went on a full moon! You followed two staff members who are known and registered werewolves, which, if you haven’t been paying attention in class, transform on a full moon. You attracted the attention of a fugitive werewolf, who bit you, and then almost got my two staff members killed when they had to fight him off to keep him from eating you! Do you realize what you’ve DONE!” His voice began soft, and gradually got louder and stronger, until he finally bellowed at her.
Rhea, not having realized the seriousness of the situation last night, looked down at her bandaged arm. She looked over to see Phelan and Romulus in separate beds, both looking like something from a horror movie with bandages covering their arms, and Phelan’s face bandaged as well. She looked up at the furious headmaster, and did the only thing a fifteen-year-old knew what to do in these kinds of situations. She burst into tears.
“Tears won’t solve anything, girl!” Snape snapped. Draca put her hand on his arm, and his head snapped towards her.
“Maybe right now isn’t the time for yelling.” She said softly. If anyone else had said that to the Headmaster, he would have put them on their arse. But the look in Draca’s eyes was enough to calm him somewhat, and he nodded sharply.
“I have to contact her parents.” He said flatly. Rhea’s sobs increased at the realization that she would have to tell her parents about this. How stupid could she have been! “And I have to call the Lycanthrope Office of Registration. You’ll have to be registered as a werewolf.” He said, and stalked off, his robes billowing behind him.
Good gods…the press was going to have a fucking field day…!

Whoa-ho-ho! A little wolf action going on there. Silly girl...never follow werewolves down to the Forest. Are you stupid? Apparently so.
Phelan and Rome(*Giggle*) kicked some Fenrir butt....but he's not dead....he's down, but DEFINITELY not out...
So....you've read, now rate/review.
BTW, I will be gone for a couple of days to a Christian Youth Conference(There's a college and career section, so don't flip your tops...) , so I may or may not be updating quickly. Depends on if they have Wi-Fi at the hotel....and if it's free, of course!!
smurphy - I'm glad you liked the Hermione/Draco bit. And yes...Bella is a twisted bitch. She has a son...who we won't be able to meet for a while...because it's important I keep his identity a secret for now... ^_^
