Lucas Arrives Back To England

Kings Cross Station: August 20th 1997

Lucas Snape stepped off the Express Train onto Kings Cross. It had been seven years and finally he was home. He stood 5'9 dressed in black leather trousers. And a long sleeve emerald silk shirt, that laid underneath his long leather jacket. His long braided black hair reached to his waist. He eyes were still emerald and gold that shined with power and michief. His aura was that of amazement. It pulsed with power, causing the other magical witches and wizards to stare in awe. While some of the Muggles that could feel it steer away.

"I'm finally home." Lucas whispered to himself as a smirk graced his lips. Before he walked toward the aspiration point. With a soft pop he disappeared from Kings Cross only to appear at the gates of Hogwarts.

Hogwarts

Albus Dumbledore felt someone walk through the wards as the Castle seemed to humm in anticipation of the person. Fawkes was sitting on his desk at that moment disappeared in a flash of fire.

Lucas had just stepped through the gates of Hogwarts when Fawkes appeared on his shoulder. He watched as the pheonix began to nuzzle him to collect his scent and magical aura.

*Hello My Light* Lucas spoke softly.

*Finally you've returned Child of Light & Shadows. (Fawkes hesitated) Why child did you venture into the Forbidden?* Fawkes licked as he nipped Lucas on the ear harshly.

Lucas winced at the bite. *The choose wasn't mine. My magic chose it's path.*

*Understood, it's time to bond with me Child of Light & Shadows* demanded Fawkes as he didn't wait to bond with Lucas. He just bit the boy again drawing blood and then himself. Mixing the blood together binding them forever. Making the child have an immortal life span. Fawkes wasn't about to let the child wander the world alone again.

*What did you do My Light?* Lucas hissed as he felt himself grow calmer. And his magic flare.

*Never you mind.* came the smug response of Fawkes. As he nuzzled even more into Lucas's hair.

Lucas's slightly shivered. He knew that Fawkes had done something irreversable. He'd just have to wait until the pheonix told him what. Turning back on his path he finally made it inside the castle. Only to be frozen in place by a silver light.

' Fear not Child of Light & Shadows. It is I, Hogwarts that has you frozen.'

'Why?' whispered Lucas as he felt Fawkes nuzzle him again in comfort.

'Because, I wanted to feel your magic. And I'm pleased with the outcome. Have the Headmaster take you to my core. When he does, I'll explain more.'

Lucas just nodded before the silver light vanished. Amazing Hogwarts is sentient. Lucas thought as he went toward his destination, his Grandfather's office. Once at the gargoyal, he was once again surprised when it bowed to him and opened the stairwell without a password.

He managed to make it to the door. When he was about to knock it opened on its own accord. When he entered he could see his Grandfather talking to someone in the floo and decided to sit and wait. Completely ignoring the conversation his Grandfather was having. For which he would regret soon.

"Lucas, my little Merlin. Your finally home." Albus exclaimed as he drew the young man into a loving embrace.

"Its good to be back, Grandfather." Lucas whispered as he returned the embrace only to have his magic flare to life. Causing both of them to jump apart in shock. "What happened Grandfather?"

Albus was in shock. Never did he anticipate that Lucas's magic would try and attack him. He didn't want to frighten his grandson. But there was no other choice. "Your magic just attacked me Lucas."

"Why?" Lucas asked in shock.

"I'm uncertain my little Merlin?" Albus stated as he hugged him again. This time when it flared it wasn't in attack. But it began trying to cling to Albus's magic in what felt and looked like apology.

Awe Albus thought. He understood why the magic attacked first. It was making sure that he wasn't a threat to Lucas. "Worry not my little Merlin. Your magic was testing to make sure I was no threat to you. And now that it knows I'm not. It has embraced mine."

"Ok, well that's good." chuckles Lucas as he moved to have a seat again. "So what's on our agenda today. I just arrived and you were the first person I've seen. Oh! before I forget did you know Hogwarts is sentient?"

"Explain what you mean by sentient? Because I only get feelings from the castle." Albus stated as he watched a wistful smile grace Lucas's face.

"No, not feelings. I mean talk to you." Lucas said looking like Albus had grown another head.

"No. What did the castle say to you Lucas?"

"That she was glad I'm back. And that she approves of my magic and something about you taking me to her core." Lucas started rambling until his Grandfather lifted his hand to silence him.

"The castle's core is where the staff add magic to keep the castle stable hidden. If Hogwarts wants you there. It a good possiblity the the castle itself wants you to add to the core with your magic. We'll go down before the students return. Is that acceptable?"

Lucas nodded his agreement. Before he made his way behind Albus's desk and sit himself in the man's lap with a cheeky grin. Albus just shook his head at Lucas. Inside he was greatful that Lucas could still be somewhat carefree. He still wanted to know what all Lucas studied. But for now he was going to enjoy having the boy back.

"Lucas, I almost forgot. Your parents and siblings are coming to Hogwarts for dinner tonight." Albus whispered into the boys hair.

Lucas stiffened. He didn't want to deal with all the feelings that revolved around his parents. Not yet anyway. All he wanted to do at that moment was run. And when he tried to get off of his Grandfathers lap he realised that he was stuck.

"Let me go Grandfather, please I don't want to see them. Not yet, please, please let me go." Lucas rambled off quickly as he started to hyperventilate.

"My little Merlin, calm down. I won't let them harm you. That's it breath slowly." Albus whispered as he rocked Lucas. Suddenly he noticed Lucas had went limp in his lap and arms. Looking down he could see his grandson was still awake. But his magic and body had surrendered to its grandfather. What has happened to you Lucas? That you wouldn't want to see your family. Albus thought as he continued to hold the boy that had become his life.

Snape Manor

Severus Snape was waiting by the fireplace for his wife and two children. Little Alexis Rose was five now. While his newborn son, Gabriel was only a year. He thought back to the fire-call he'd received from Albus about Lucas being back and at Hogwarts. He couldn't believe it had been seven years already. He didn't know what to expect when he met Lucas again.

Oh he remembered all the letters that his son had written. He had kept them all. But with Lilly having Alexis and then Gabriel. And the war, he couldn't remember the last time, he had written Lucas. Hopefully the boy was not the little demon he was when he left. Was his last thought as he heard his family arriving in the room.

Little Alexis was wearing a beautiful blue silk dress with rose petals around the collar and sleeves. As her robe was also blue to match her dress. Her long red hair was skillfully tied up in a french braid. As her onyx eyes sparkled with excitement.

Gabriel had entered one his mother's hip. Severus noticed that the young ones black hair had been combed back, his emerald eyes flashing in happiness. He was wearing a pair of nice black trousers with a plain silver silk shirt. His little robe was also black.

His beautiful wife, Lilly was in the new ermerald silk dress that he had purchased in Rome. With a green robe that was outlined in silver. Her hair was braided just like Alexis's. He could tell she was nervous about seeing Lucas after all this time.

"Are you ready to go, Lilly?" Severus asked as he grabbed the floo powder.

"Not really, I'm afraid of what Lucas had become Sev. We haven't seen him in seven years and I worry what he's been taught."

"He's been taught how to survive Lilly. Something that he wouldn't have learned staying with us." Stated Severus with a voice of strength. But inside he had the same worries as his wife. I hope I didn't make a mistake, sending him to that school. Thought Severus, the one thought that never left his mind all these years. As he and his family headed to Hogsmade and toward Hogwarts.

Hogwarts: Lucas's suite

Lucas had just stepped out of the shower. He tried himself before wrapping the towel around his waist exiting the bathroom to dress. When he re-entered his bedroom his grandfather was sitting in a chair.

Without a word he dropped the towel, moving around the room to collect his clothes. He didn't care his grandfather had seen him nude or the scars that littered his back. Pulling on a pair of green dragon hide trouser before he looked at his grandfather in question.

"Lucas, I'm sorry to spring your parents arrival on you like that." Albus softly said, glad that his grandson had the fore thought to atleast put on his trousers. It amazed Albus that Lucas would walk around nude with someone in the room. Where did he get those scars? he thought, hoping they weren't from someone abusing him.

Lucas beamed at his grandfather. With a smile that was only reserved for him. He didn't miss the question in his grandfather's eyes when he'd seen the scars. But he didn't want his grandfather to worry. "Its alright, I would have had to see them a some point. Might as well get the meeting over with. My scars are not what your thinking grandfather. They're from Battle and Weapons classes."

Albus sighed in relief. Before he smiled at Lucas in happiness. "I'm glad, they had me worried. I'll admit that I don't know much about Atrum Vita, Lucas. And these past seven years have scared me. Because I didn't know what was happening to you. And your letters didn't go into any details. I even asked your parent's numerous times about how you were treated there. But I received nothing to stop my worries."

"Well soon we can sit down and I'll answer all your questions." Lucas replied with a small smile. Before pulling on his dragon hide boots that reached just below his knees. And his silk black shirt. Then he spelled his hair dry before using another to spell his hair into a battle braid. He was debating whether he needed to put on a robe or just his jacket when his grandfathers voice decided for him.

Albus noticed Lucas's problem as well as his glamours. "You don't need to wear a robe Lucas. Unless you want to. And why are you wearing glamours?"

Lucas went to pull on his leather jacket that graced the floor. Before turning to his grandfather with a look of mischief. "All in good time grandfather. All in good time. I'm ready to go."

Albus just shook his head. Before leading the way toward the Great Hall. With Lucas meeting him stride for stride. He could feel the dread washing over his grandson each step closer to the Hall. When they arrived the doors opened for them.

Lucas walked into the Hall beside his grandfather. He searched the round table that was in the hall recognising many of the teachers. Only to stop as he saw what could have only been his family. He had to mask his emotions quickly as he saw his Father with a little girl no more than five sitting on his lap.Why did he never hold me like that? And his Mother with another child, a male child upon hers. And three of them were smiling at the smallest one. A family He thought,One that I'm not apart of. Not anymore. And that hurt him more than he would admit too.

Albus noticed the emotions that flickered across Lucas's face. They were so fast that he almost didn't catch the one of pain or the one of acceptance. He wasn't sure what Lucas was accepting at the moment. He just hoped it was a good thing. Placing his hand on Lucas's shoulder he noticed the faint flinch, but ignored it as he steered him to his seat. The seat to his left, the one that always remained empty. The one that was meant for Lucas all those years ago, the for his successor.

The Snape family didn't pay any attention to what was going on around them as the listened to Gabriel talk about all the things he'd seen while they had been in the castle. Until the teachers gasped. At that Severus looked toward them to see a young man. Seated beside Albus in the chair that was meant for the man's successor. Lucas was the only thought that went through his mind as he looked upon the boy. No not a boy a powerful young man. He had to hold back the wince, when he seen the closed off face of his son.

Lilly didn't know what to do or say. She too knew who was seated beside the Headmaster. It was her son, the one that she had agreed to send away. The one that was so full of michief and uncontrolled power seven years before. But now sat beside Albus as his successor. And she could feel the helix of power Lucas controlled. And she couldn't hold back the shiver that down her spine.

Both Alexis and Gabriel just looked at the boy that was beside the Headmaster. They didn't know who he was. But they could tell that their parent's did. Well he did look like them somewhat. Was the only thing they could come up with. They were young so that was expected.

Lucas on the other hand was trying to keep his mind shields in place as well as his emotion. While he looked at his parents. The same parents that he loved and the ones that sent him away. And started a family without him. Say something Mother. Anything, please. He thought as he moved his sight to his mother. Only to have his heart crushed when she turned away without a word. His Father didn't say anything either, thou he didn't expect anything. He also thought it was his Father that had made the decision to cast him aside. But now he realised it was both their decisions. If that's the way they feel so be it. At least I still have Grandfather. He thought as he turned away from his family to set his eyes upon the only one he could count on.

Albus couldn't believe Severus or Lilly. He was beginning to see the mistake of inviting them and informing them that Lucas was back. Noticing that Lucas had placed his gaze on to him. He smiled at his successor with a look that said I'll always stand beside you. When he'd seen the sutle nod from Lucas he decided that it was time to make an announcement.

"Everyone, this young man beside me as you are probably aware will be my successor when I pass to the next world. His name is Lucas Evan and he had just graduated from Atrum Vita Academy. And will be here at Hogwarts to train with me. As well as help out when the need arises."

"How old are you Lucas?" Minerva McGonnagil asked with small smile. He didn't look any older than a six or seventh year at Hogwarts.

"I'm sixteen Madam. But I assure you I've had all my shots." Lucas smirked before he winked at her.

"Have you now. Are you sure? Because if not I'm sure Madam Pomphery can get you up to date." Minerva exclaimed.

Lucas's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe it, he had someone to banter with. One that didn't get offended. "Oh, I assure you Madam that I am. But if you ever need confirmation. Don't hesitate to come to me." Lucas wiggled his eyebrows afterward. He was back in the game. And beginning to start to relax again.

As the other staff watched the two, they all figured it was a good thing the young man had a bit of humor. And began chuckling at the dry bantering of the two. All but the Snape family. The two childern were confused had what was happening. Severus on the other hand was becoming livid. He couldn't believe his son was acting that way. Lilly was in a state of shock as to how her son was acting. Not noticing the storm brewing inside her husband. Until said husband roared his displeasure.

"ENOUGH! roared Severus. Causing everyone to jump, except for Lucas and Albus. Lucas had went white as a sheet, frozen to his chair. As Albus had narrowed his eyes at Severus.

"Lucas, I demand you to apologise for your uncouth behavior. You weren't raised that way." Severus stated coldly. Only to realise to realise his mistake. When he heard his wife's gasp and the children yell 'What?'. Albus's look of anger and Lucas's cold eyes. As the staff look at him in confusion.

"Raised me?" Lucas laughed coldly. Sending shivers down everyone but Albus. "I was left with a Nanny by the time I was three. You and mother started going to parties and social event at left me with them. It was Grandfather and Uncle Luc that I'd seen more of. And I had to learn Pureblood edicate from Aunt Cissa. I didn't know you were my Father until I was almost two. And then I tried everything to get your approval. And when it became to much for you and Mother to handle. What did you do?" Lucas stopped to catch his breath. As he looked at everyone with a cold stare.

"You shipped me off the Atrum Vita at the age of nine. And forgot all about me in favor of your other children. All I ever wanted was some of your attention. That's why I acted up. That's why I ran off all those Nanny's. I just wanted you and Mother to notice me again." At that Lucas disappeared with a soft pop. Leaving the other's silent in the Great Hall.

Lilly was crying holding on to her youngest children. While Severus stared at the spot his son had been moments before. The staff minus Albus excused themselves and quietly left the room. Lost in their own thoughts.

"How could I've been so blind. I should have noticed by the way Lucas would cling to the Malfoy's and myself. When he was with us. But I didn't, I felt that he was just happy to see us." Albus spoke coldly as he then looked at the two people he felt for as a son and daughter. "Congradulations both of you. For you have through your actions pushed one of the most charming and loving young man away. And I'm not sure if you'll ever get him back." Before he too left the Hall in search of his grandson.

"Come on Lilly, lets get the children home." whispered Severus as he guided his family out of Hogwarts in silence.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lucas found himself inside a Chamber. He didn't know where he was until he asked Hogwarts and she had told him. That he was inside the Chamber of Secrets, that Salazar Slytherin had created. He remember that this chamber was supposed to house a creature. But he couldn't remember if it was still down here.

So he opened his senses and searched. His search came back negative. He wonder where the creature could be. He didn't know that the creature was killed by the Aurors in what would have normally been his second year, if he'd been in Hogwarts.

Finally he noticed a door with a snake on it. ~Open~ he hissed waiting to see if the door would open in parseltongue. He knew that Slytherin was a parselmouth since he was two. When it didn't open he tried something else.

~Open in the name of Salazar Slytherin.~ And again nothing. So Lucas thought for a moment. When an idea formed he laughed softly and spoke again.

~Open in the name of Slytherin. Greatest of the Hogwarts Four.~

When the door finally opened. Lucas was almost bouncing in place. Upon entering he noticed it was a form of office or study. So with a spring in his step he walked around the room. He noticed that all the books were written in parseltongue. And wondered why old Voldie didn't snitch them.

' Tom Riddle was unable to read parseltongue. So they were left here, Child of Light & Shadows' Hogwarts spoke with warmth.

'Well I can read them. So can I have them?'

'I see no harm in you taking the anything that you find within the Chamber of Secrets.' Hogwarts stated with clarity.

'Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Hogwarts my love.' Sang Lucas as he bounced around the room. He could wait to show his Grandfather his new finds. With that he froze, remembering the reason he was here. He changed into his animagus form of a Storm Pheonix
and flashed into his Grandfathers office with blue flames.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Albus Dumbledore had been searching for two hours, trying to find Lucas. He was unsuccessful. He was worried about his little Merlin. He was getting ready to call one of the Order Members to help him. When a flash of blue flame appeared and vanished leaving a young Storm Pheonix perched on top of his desk. He looked at the new arrival and then Fawkes. When Fawkes just tilted his head in a confusion. He looked back at the new pheonix.

"Well little one are you lost?" Albus asked as he sat down to study the pheonix.

Lucas wanted to laugh at them both. But he couldn't not in this form. So he decided to climb on his Granfathers lap and change back to his human form.

Albus watched in amusement as the new pheonix climbed on his lap. And then flashed blue leaving a very amused grandson in it's wake.

"Ah, surprise!" Lucas said a little shaken.

"Surprise indeed. I was worried when I couldn't find you. But now that you're back I'm thrilled that you have a magical form Lucas." Albus responded with a loving hug. Which Lucas returned.

"Grandfather, I need to show you something." Lucas exclaimed before jumping up and changing again into his pheonix.

Albus realised what he wanted and grabbed a hold of his grandson's tail. And with a flash of blue flames they disappeared. Not noticing Minerva had watched the whole scene with a sad smile.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Albus looked around and was shocked to find himself inside an old study. "Lucas where are we?"

"We're in the Chamber of Secrets and Salazar Sytherins office or study." Lucas rambled in excitement as he pulled his Grandfather over to all the books.

"I can't read those Lucas." sighed Albus. He had hoped that maybe they would hold the way to rid them of Tom.

"I know silly, but I can. Grandfather there written in parseltongue and Tom Riddle can't read parseltongue according to the lovely Hogwarts." Beamed Lucas as he swung his arms around the room at the books.

For the first time in his life, Albus Dumbledore was speechless. His grandson may very well single handely found the way to end Tom's destruction.

"Call the press, I've finally rendered Grandfather speechless!" announced a smug Lucas as he waved his hands infront of Albus.

"I feat no one has ever accomplished until now." smile Albus at his antics.

"So what next? Hogwarts said that I can have anything that I find down here." Lucas explained as he persued the shelves. As his Grandfather sat in the chair behind the desk looking for anything that maybe of use.

"I suggest that we take everything that we find and place it in my office. Under wards that only you and myself would be able to get through." Albus stated absently as he gathered all the parchment he found as he conjured a bag to place them in.

Lucas agreed and started shrinking the books and conjured boxes to place them inside. When everything was collected and the office was once again bare. Lucas changed back into his pheonix form and flashed them back to Albus's office.

Once they had everything behind wards. Albus had a house-elf bring them tea and some scones. When they were finished with everything but the tea. Albus decided it was time to confront his grandson about his outburst earlier.

"Lucas, please tell me what caused your outburst at dinner."

At that Lucas sit frozen. He tea cup slipped out of his hand and to the floor. As his eyes glazed over in rememberance.
