Three months after the day of wonders, as Harry privately referred to it, the two boys found themselves standing before a mirror.
"I remember this mirror," Harry whispered, keeping out of the reflected surface. "How did you find it?"
"I wasn't looking for it," Draco said honestly. "I was looking for a way to hide from Daphne. She wants my help with her dress, the lazy sod."
Harry chuckled, then took Draco's hand. "It's the Mirror of Erised. It shows what you most desire. The happiest man in the world could look into it and use it as a normal mirror. The last time I saw it was my first year. I saw my parents."
"What do you see now?" Draco asked.
"Look into it with me?" Draco nodded, and together, they stepped before it, and gasped simultaneously.
"What do you see?" Harry asked, and Draco shook his head.
"You first."
Harry blushed. "I see.. us. We're old, your hair really is white. It's long, and you're bigger, but not as thin. My hair is grey, and I'm still shorter than you. We're..." The reflection clasped eachothers hands, and Harry saw the matching silver bands on the ring fingers. "We're married."
"Old and grey, hm?" Draco asked. "I see it too. You've got a snake etched onto that silver ring, and I've got a sodding lion. We look ... happy. Still."
The two boys clung to eachother and smiled into their reflections who clasped one another tightly. "Come on, lover. Time for food, I think, and then we can talk about whether or not this dream will come true."
"Harry, it's already true."
