Chapter 17
--One year later--
He hadn\'t the slightest idea of how he had gotten there. All he knew was that a stranger brought him into the hospital for trauma and several deep cuts. Before a nurse could ask him his name, the man was gone. Vanished into thin air.
An angel brought you in. That\'s all she said.
Well, stranger things had happened. Like all the time he spent at his vacation ranch during the past year. Normally the blonde maybe spent 20 weekends there a year, and most of those were hosting charity work. In fact, most of last year seemed choppy a best, and he knew he was missing some thing. Some thing very important.
Ah well. He had to concentrate on some other important tasks at the moment anyway. Like renovating the ranch. Little tasks like this kept his mind from searching for things he couldn\'t grasp.
---
I stood out side of the ranch, remembering how much I hated the heat. But now it didn\'t matter so much. Being able to use magic and with a good cooling charm I could wear my best dress robes. I needed to look my best for this.
Shawn\'s ranch was a sight I thought I\'d never see again. I touched the patch over my eye and sighed. Well, with two eyes anyway. My eye was too damaged to ever be normal again. I barely made it through last year, just the memory of Shawn kept me going.
I was valuable to the order when I returned. Another reason why I am still here. They could have executed me, but they did not. They heard my story- The muggle hater Lucius Malfoy in love with one. It seemed so outrageous, but my pain proved I couldn\'t be lying.
After a year of pain and torture, it was over. Draco and Severus are safe and unharmed for the most part. Now, now... I can finally get back to what\'s so important. My lover-- and rebuilding my family. If the one side effect to the charm didn\'t kick in, that is.
I moved toward the ranch, walking up the stairs to the door. Perhaps Shawn was better off with out me in his life. He might not want me there anymore. I sighed quietly and pondered going back.
I remembered something he said just then- \"You\'d better damn well come back, Lucius Malfoy.\"
Damn straight I will, Shawn. I knocked on the door and waited.
\"Hang on a moment! I\'m coming!\"
Just his voice made my heart lighten. I am a soldier returning home-- I want what I left behind. The door opened and there he was, just as handsome as ever. He had on a pair of ripped up painted covered jeans and a shirt, with a few flecks tan colored paint on his cheeks. A look of confusion crossed his face, which quickly gave way to a flood gate of emotions changing with every second. He placed a hand to his temple while the other dropped his paint brush.
I dare not speak. Just watch and wait.
His pale eyes opened again, looking at me with only one emotion now. \"Lucius...\"
Oh god, he does remember. I don\'t know what to do, but he does it for me. His arms are around me in his loving embrace, and I finally break down. I clutched to him desperately, and I\'m never going to let him go again.
Fin.
Well, this was fun. I might keep doing stuff with them, because they were fun XD Interesting pairing though, huh? ))
