Sacrificium: part II

Wow...it's been a while. I had major writer's block with this story (like....six months worth) but here it is--the next chapter. I TOLD you I'd finish it, jeez--have a little faith, people.

Harry kicked open the heavy oak doors of Voldemort’s fortress and entered determinedly. Eara shrugged out of her riding coat and hung it on a nearby hat stand. Havoc rolled his eyes at her and pushed past Harry. They all paused and pricked up their ears as they heard the distinct tap of a small group of people coming down the grand stair case. They looked up to see Lord Voldemort, Bellatrix Lestrange, and Draco Malfoy coming toward them, hands held steadily on their wands.
Harry’s eyes widened and he ran forward, “Draco!” he was pulled back by Eara and Havoc as Bellatrix and Voldemort laughed. Draco looked blank and he placed his hand in Voldemort’s. “Draco, baby, what are you doing?” Harry demanded, “You don’t have to pretend anymore—we’re going to kill these bastards once and for—“Harry was thrown backwards by a powerful blast. He coughed and looked up to see Draco staring down at him, wand pointed at his chest, fury in his eyes. “Over my dead body, Potter.” He spat.
Harry’s head pounded as he felt himself being pulled up by Havoc.
“Three on three.” Voldemort said casually, as though this was a careless game of quidditch, “Sounds fair, wouldn’t you agree Harry?”
Harry said nothing. He continued to stare at Draco mournfully. “Well Potter,” he said sardonically as he twirled his wand casually in his articulate fingers, “Care for another duel? No snakes this time, promise. ”
Harry felt his eyes burning as he stepped forward, wand drawn.
“Harry, no! You can’t fight him fairly.” Eara snapped, “I’ll take him.”
Harry bowed his head and conceded.
“Well, prophecy is as prophecy does, Harry. I’ll take my dear aunt.” Havoc said aloofly. Harry nodded and focused his attentions on Voldemort. The fucker was going to pay.
Harry whipped his wand and shouted, “Impedimenta!”
“Crucio!” and thus the three duels began.
Voldemort apparated to the middle of the hall, behind Harry and hit him with a silent imperius curse. “Attack…attack the others…”
“I think we’ve established that does not work! Incendo!” Voldemort leapt to the side to avoid the onslaught of flame. “Terra!” Rocks erupted from below, cracking the marble dance floor. Harry was thrown to the ground and Voldemort aimed his wand. “Avada ked—“
BAM!
Voldemort was knocked backwards by a huge burst of power. Havoc nodded to Harry and helped him up before returning to his own duel. Bellatrix laughed maniacally as she cast curse upon deadly curse at her nephew.
“Dance, monkey, dance!” she cackled as she watched him dodge the hexes.
“Lupi!” he shouted, a pack of rabid wolves erupting from his wand, charging at the black-eyed woman. A particularly daring white wolf leapt at her throat, and she grabbed it by the scruff of the neck. “I HATE dogs!” she shrilled before setting each wolf on fire.
“Crucio!” he yelled at her. She fell backwards and screamed in pain. He walked over to her and put more power into the curse. “Surrender, Bellatrix.”
She laughed through her screams and said brokenly, your dear mother never told you then?” she whipped her wand at him, “Thermae!” sending a burst of boiling steam at his face. “Not only am I a sadist, I’m a masochist, too!” she screamed as she wound barbed wire around him with a flick of her wrist as he fumbled with his wand, his hands were burnt and swollen red. Blood trickled in rivulets down his shirt and arms.
“Avada ked—“Harry, seeing that Havoc was in trouble, sent a stunner Bellatrix’ way. She dodged it, but stumbled as she did so. Havoc concentrated and melted away the wire that bound him. He grabbed his wand and healed himself. “Copy cat.” He yelled over his shoulder to Harry, who had once again begun to dodge Voldemort’s curses, careful not to cast at the same time as he.

“Oh, come on, Eara!” Draco yelled in mock concern as he paced around her on top of the stairs, she eyeing him carefully. “We used to have so much fun together—why stop now? Crucio!” he yelled.
She dodged it and repelled the remnants with a well-placed scream. “You’re not yourself, Draco, I know what you did. You confunded yourself, didn’t you.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about you stupid bitch, now DIE ALREADY!” he shouted as he sent a silent incendo toward her head. Again, she dodged it and said, “No, you wouldn’t know what I’m talking about, would you, Draco?” he rolled his eyes and shot another curse at her. “Stand still, will you?” he yelled, throwing his arms up in frustration.

“Draco, darling!” Bellatrix yelled to the top of the stairs as she was steadily losing ground to havoc. “Care to switch?”
“Sure!” he yelled before apparating before Havoc, taking over the duel. Bellatrix squealed and began piercing into Eara’s mind with legillimency. She was tired—she hadn’t slept for days—she was weak. “Flesh of Lucius Malfoy’s heir, eh?”
“Get out of my mind, you whore!” Eara screamed, dust rippling at her feet.
“Oh, I’m not going anywhere—a certain prophecy says so…IMPERIO!” she shouted. Eara shuddered and tried to shake off the curse, but it was too much for her. She froze and turned to look to the bottom of the stairs to see Draco and Havoc dueling. Draco was easily losing. Eara, her eyes white, walked slowly down the stairs, raising her wand as she neared the bottom.
….kill him…kill the heir of Lucius Malfoy…avenge your parent’s through his flesh…
Havoc hadn’t even heard Eara coming behind him before he heard; “AVADA KEDAVRA!” a burst of green light filled the hall and hit the blonde man square in the chest. His eyes widened in shock and his mouth fell open as he fell, spread eagle to the floor with a sickening crunch.
….excellent….excellent…now die…
Eara, tears running down her white eyes picked up a shard of broken marble, and sliced her own throat, landing in a bloody heap on top of Havoc. Draco twitched slightly and murmured, “Havoc…Eara…no, they betrayed you!” he shrugged off the fleeting moment of self and ran to help his aunt, who was bleeding profusely. The power required to curse such a strong being had taken much of her life energy. Her heart had erupted with the effort, and she was sputtering blood.
He apparated beside her, and cradled her head.
“I die…I die for the Dark Lord…for the Dark…” her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she lapsed into darkness. Draco felt no emotion as he dropped his dead aunt’s head to the floor. He leaned over the balcony to watch his lover and savior fight the Potter boy, glancing quickly over the corpses of his brother and former friend.
“Draco, gorgeous!” Voldemort shouted cruelly as he advanced on a bleeding Harry who had just been hit with a shredding hex, “Come down and watch me torture Harry Potter before I kill him!”
Draco said nothing; he just walked indifferently down the stairs.
1st step….
“CRUCIO!” Voldemort used all the energy he could spare to cast the curse.
Harry writhed in a pool of his and other’s blood as he screamed his voice hoarse.
2nd step….
Voldemort jerked his wand, causing Harry to let out a particularly blood curdling scream. Why was Voldemort torturing this boy again?

………..Ever since we’ve met, we’ve always been drawn to each other. We were always going out of our ways to fight one another. We were always there for each other in the worst ways. We were like best friends…only best enemies…………………

3rd step….
Harry called out Draco’s name, hoping that maybe somewhere, he was still there.

……….It’s not the most functional of relationships…but it’s strong. You held a grudge against me for five years, Draco—now that takes dedication………..

4th step….

“Oh, god, Draco, PLEASE!” Harry cried, Voldemort laughing his cruel, cold laugh.

……………..“Someone once told me, that hate is very powerful—but love can move mountains. I believe that—I lived it………………………….

5th step….

“Oh, gods, someone help!” he screamed, convulsing, his wand feet away. Draco winced at hearing those words, but he ignored it and continued down the stairs. Voldemort wanted him. But did he want Voldemort to want him? He shook off the thought and continued.

………………Draco—I know that it is hard for you to control this evil that is within you—I know you feel him in your blood—I do too. But…I think together we can overcome this. I know you feel alone, but I understand you………………….

Last step….

……………Don’t bleed onto yourself—bleed into me; let me carry your sin; let me love you……………….

“Let me love you.” Draco whispered as piercing green eyes looked helplessly up at him.

“Ah, Draco—would you like a hand at torturing him?” Voldemort asked nonchalantly. Draco nodded and pulled out his wand. The curse had been pulled off of Harry; he was bleeding from the ears but made no noise.
“Accio wand!” Draco yelled, Harry’s and Voldemort’s wands flying to his outstretched hand. “CRUCIO!” he screamed at Voldemort. The dark man fell to the ground, writhing in pain. Harry twitched slightly and looked up at Draco hopefully.
“I love you.” Draco said as he maintained the curse. Harry shakily tried to stand but could not, nor could he cast a spell when his wand was handed to him. Draco held back tears as he summoned a sword. He dragged the nearly unconscious Voldemort over to him. The dark lord had spent nearly all of his energy torturing Harry. Draco placed the sword in Harry’s hand, and moved the tip over Voldemort’s heart. He clasped his bloody hands around Harry’s and helped him push the sword into his flesh.
Green light surrounded the area of the wound and ran up the sword, encompassing their entwined hands. Draco tried to let go but could not. The look Harry was giving him implied that he could not release the sword either. “I love you, Draco.” Harry managed to whisper. “I love you too, Harry, so much—I’m so sorry I had to do it—if I thought there was any chance of you escaping Voldemort I had to take it—I didn’t know my confounding myself would go this far!”
The green light erupted into a column that pierced the roof; above it floated a Green Dark Mark, veiled in black.
“Draco, I’m sorry—I shouldn’t have let you go—“
“Harry, I love you.” Draco said more desperately this time, tears mingling with the blood that stained his face. Harry smiled kissed him desperately on the mouth. Draco cried into the kiss and pulled Harry closer to him as their hands were released. The light dissipated, but the veiled dark mark remained.
Harry’s eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed into Draco’s arms.
