Chapter 16

Just before they got there Phoebus saw Hydra and ran over to him.

"Hey how was your classes?" Hydra gave a wry grin.

"I don't know. I slept through most of the first one. Did you know the History Professor is a ghost?" Phoebus blinks and shakes his head before shrugging.

"What about the the second one?" Hydra grinned.

"Care of Magical Creatures was great. Professor Hawthorne was so cool! We get to meet some Kappas tomorrow." Phoebus smiles.

"Miss Glenn the DADA teacher is having us meet Kappas too." Hydra blinked, then smiled brightly.

"Maybe we're doing it together!" Phoebus smiled just as brightly and hugs him close.

He enjoyed the feeling of Hydra's body to his own he just wished Hydra could see him as a woman not as a man pretending to be a woman. Hydra automatically hugged back. He realized that hugging a girl like this in front of the school would probably tell all the girls he was taken, but he didn't care. Phoebus was his best friend and someone who understood him better than anyone else. Phoebus smiles and stepped back.

"Come on im starving." Hydra nodded.

They made their way to the Great Hall, reluctantly separating at the door to go to their respective tables. Phoebus sits down with Rosemary as Fidelia looks at the girls with a sneer. Once they were on top of the school completely those two would be the first ones they take down. Kaleb sneers at Fidelia stopping by the Ravenclaw table to inform Hydra of the scene earlier before going to his own place with the Slytherins. Hydra raised a brow to match his friends and vowed to gain as much social influence he could and ruin those girls when he had the chance. No one hurt his friends. After Lunch Rosemary and Phoebus walked over to Hydra.

"Lets go! Charms!" Phoebus was happy.

He loved charms. Hydra took Phoebus' arm in his like a Lord leading his Lady and walked with the two of them toward the Charms classroom. Kaleb bid them good day and went up the stairs of the north corridor to Ancient Runes. Phoebus smiles and holds his arm close as Rosemary walks on her own. Hydra was irritating but she did have to admit he was a gentlemen. Hydra led them to the classroom, opening the door for the both of them as a matter of course. His chivalry did not go unnoticed, however, as a group of giggling first year girls entered just after them and he held the door for them too.

Phoebus waist for Hydra by the door while Rosemary got them some seats. Hydra took a seat next to them since the students were fairly integrated in this class. Phoebus sits next to him and holds her wand. Phyllida Marksmith was venerated as the best charms professor ever to grace Hogwarts. By the faculty, anyway. She was a multi-published author of books both on the value and practicality of charms and their uses in defence. She was also, by all student's accounts, a hardass. Fron her iron-gray hair and harsh black eyes, her prim high-collared robes and buttoned gloves, down to her neatly buckled boots, she practically screamed zero tolerance. She looked around the class sternly.

"Take your seats." She said, the whipcrack of her voice drawing instant attention from the few students still milling about.

Phoebus bit her lip suddenly thinking she didnt like charms anymore.

"I am Professor Marksmith. You will refer to me thus for the duration of your time in my classroom." She waved her wand at the door and it latched shut. "I will tolerate no tardiness. If you are not here on time, you will be locked out and will have to gain your notes elsewhere. You will not speak out of turn, nor will you rise from your seats unless given permission. You will turn in your work in a timely manner with no complaints. I shall tolerat no horseplay, lollygagging, or games during this time. You are here to learn, and learn is what you shall do. If you obey these rules, you will find that I am not a difficult person to get along with." Hydra hid a small smile.

She reminded him of the portrait of his great grandmother on his father's side. A stern old witch, to be sure, but not cruel or hateful. Phoebus and Rosemary both sink into the chairs wondering if they could get out of this class.

"You will find, I'm afraid, that I teach no frivolous spells. Everything you learn here will be of use to you in everyday life. You will be taught a range from simple household charms to defensive charms. I am not cruel and do not assign homework for no reason. If I give you an assignment, it will be on a test. You will not find yourselves overworked or bored, that I promise you. Now," she paused and took a deep breath.

"Take out your books and turn to page seventy-nine. We shall start by finding out what you know." Quickly everyone flipped to seventy-nine in their books including Phoebus and Rosemary.

After testing several students and assigning a short essay on the difference between charms and hexes, Professor Marksmith glanced at the clock. There were still fifteen minutes until the end of class, but she didn't care.

"Your work for the day is done. I see no reason to hold you prisoner any longer." She gave a tiny quirk of the lips and waved her wand at the locked door, which swung open.

"You may go." Phoebus and Rosemary quickly left dragging Hydra with them.

"Wow... that woman is kinda scary." Hydra shrugs.

"I like her. No nonsense, surely, but she doesn't seem evil or anything." Phoebus gently held Hydra's arm.

"Well we have broom practice now." Rosemary gulps.

"Im so not going to do well in this class." Hydra smiled to her.

"I'll help you. You'll be fine." Rosemary looks at him.

"Can you cure me of my fear of hieghts?" Hydra thinks for a moment.

"I'm sure the teacher has some anti-vertigo potions, but that will only keep the ground from spinning." Rosemary stomps on his foot.

"I dont have vertigo! I just hate hieghts!" she glares at him.

Hydra howled, skipping away from Rosemary with a wounded look.

"I was just trying to help!" he said, angry and hurt that she would attack him when he was trying to find a solution for her.

Phoebus stands by him.

"Rosie you dont have to hurt him! He was only trying to help." Rosemary glares at both of them.

"Niether of you seem to understand how terrifying the through of flying is to me!" she quickly walks outside and towards the pitch.

She knew she couldnt get out of going to the class but she had to atleast talk to the professor. Hydra put his foot down, wincing at the pain.

"Well I like that. See if I try to do anything for her again." he growled.

Phoebus sighs.

"Im sorry Hydra. Come on lets go." Hydra nods and limps with his friend out onto the pitch.

Phoebus sees Rosemary looking like she was about to cry. Uncle Ron was the teacher and he knew about her problem with hieghts but he still wouldnt let her sit out. Some best friend he turned out to be. Hydra arrives on the pitch without even looking at Rosemary. He takes his place by a random broom and stands with his arms crossed over his chest. Rosemary stands up and stands by a broom. Phoebus stands by a broom as well. Hydra huffs angrily and babies his tender toes. Rosemary looks at him and sighs.

"Alright im sorry ok." Hydra glances sideways at her.

"Really?"

"Ya its just a touche subject." Rosemary looks down at the broom.

Hydra stares hard at her for a moment, but remembers his promise to his mother never to used Slytherin tactics on his friends.

"Fine. It's okay. Just...yell or something next time. I don't take pain well." Rosemary nods as Ron steps over.

"Hello students i am Professor Weasley. And i will be teaching you not only the skills to fly a broom but also the game of Quidditich." One of the Ravenclaw first years squeaks, but bravely comes up to Ron.

She has strawberry blonde hair and deep blue eyes, wide and almost fearful at the moment.

"Mi-Mister Weasely?" she asks, her voice shaking.

Ron looks at her.

"Yes what is it?"

"My name is A-A-A-Ashley Clearwater and....and..." she burst into tears and wraps her arms around Ron's waist. "Yuh-you saved my Aunt Penny a long time ago an-and I always wanted to meet you and say....say thank you!" She wipes her eyes, clearly embarrassed, but determined to say her peace.

"We still toast you at dinner every night for your work ag-gainst Dumbledore!" Ron looks down at her with a blank look.

"Um..." Then he remembers Penelope Clearwater his brother had dated. "Your welcome Ashley." Ashley nods, wiping away tears and making her way back to one of the brooms.

Several students snicker at her, but Hydra nods and offers a small smile. Ron sighs.

"Alright i want all of you to hold a hand over the brooms by you and say up." Phoebus blinks then holds her hand over it.

"Up!" It flies up into his hand. "I did it!"

Hydra leans forward, calling "Up!" just as a twinge in his toe rockets up his leg.

The result is a resounding CRACK! as the broom handle hits him squarely in the face. Phoebus gasps and Rosemary fights the laugh that was threating to come up. For the second time today, Hydra howls in pain. A lump the size of a golf ball swells on his forehead and he clenches his fists as the class laughs at him. He grinds his teeth and tiny tears of mortification gather in the corners of his eyes, but he holds them back. A Malfoy never shows weakness and he knows he'll be the one laughing when he's soaring skillfully through the air and they're all stuck bobbing around on barely controlled brooms. He was taught by the two best seekers Hogwarts has ever seen and he *knows* how to fly. Rosemary looks down at the broom.

"Up." she whispered as the broom lifted slowly up into her hand.

Hydra tries again, concentrating, and the broom rises steadily into his fist. He doesn't mount it immediately, waiting for the instruction from Ron. Ron nods.

"Alright since this has happened before. No one will mount their broom till i tell them. We dont want another Neville Longbottom flying around. Now the first person we will see fly is... Rosemary Potter." He turned as Rosemary blinked brightly.

She wasnt ready to ever fly let alone be the first one to do it in the class.

"Sir..."

"No buts Rosie mount your broom." He stepped to the side.

Hydra bit his lip. He still wasn't terribly happy with Rosie, but even he found Ron's teaching tactics rather cruel. Rosemary bit her lip before getting onto the broom her hands shacking violently.

"Rosie..." She looked up to Ron as he smiled.

"Just relax and let yourself be relaxed otherwise you will never do it." Rosemary bit her lip as she closes her eyes as she feels herself feel weightless as a collective gasp comes.

Hydra watched, worried about when his friend would open her eyes, but silently cheering her for having the courage to get on the broom in the first place. Rosemary bit her lip as she clutched onto the broom tightly.

"Phoebe..." Phoebus bits his lip.

"Yes Rosie..."

"Am i... am i..." Rosemary studders.

"Yes you are Rosie." Phoebus quickly moved over with his broom and stood under his sister in case she paniced.

Rosemary slowly opened her eyes and instantly looked down. Her eyes widen as she started to breath hard and her palms got slick. The ground seemed to get closer and closer to her only did she realize that the ground wasnt getting closer she was getting closer to the ground. She had slipped off her broom.

"Rosie!" Phoebus caught her and hit the ground hard with his sister on top of him.

Hydra was instantly by their side, his own broom forgotten.

"Is she okay?" he asked Phoebus.

Phoebus looks at her as her eyes were wide and dialated.

"Just scared as hell." Rosemary doesnt move as she just clutches onto Phoebus.

Hydra pets her hair soothingly the way his mother did to him when he was frightened.

"Well, you did great." He said with a grin.

Rosemary slowly lifted her head looking at him.

"I... i did..." Hydra nods, his grin widening.

"You did. It took me for*ever* to get into the air when I first got on a broom." Rosemary sighs softly as she doesnt let go of Phoebus.

Hydra pats her one more time before standing and turning to Ron. He's annoyed that the teacher isn't over here comforting his student. Ron looks at them then gently helps Phoebus.

"You did wonderfuly Rosie. Once you calm down i promise you will feel more confident the next time. Phoebe please take Rosie over to the bleachers." Hydra watches this with raised eyebrows.

Perhaps the Weasley man wasn't so callous after all... Phoebus gently led Rosemary over to the seats near them. Rosemary was silently thinking to herself.

'I did it... i was in the air... but i fell...' Hydra offers her an encouraging grin from his place with the rest of the students.

Rosemary holds Phoebus as Phoebus gently petted her hair.

"You... can go back..." Rosemary whispered as Phoebus looked at her.

"Are you sure?" Rosemary nodded as Phoebus kissed her head and walked back over to her broom.

Hydra stood beside Phoebus.

"She okay?"

"Ya just shaken." Phoebus smiles and holds her broom. Hydra nods. "And you?"

"Im fine." Phoebus gets onto the broom as Ron helps a bunch of the students lift off including Phoebus.

"Now Hydra i dont want you showing off." Hydra smirks.

"Right. Wouldn't want the kiddies trying anything *dangerous* now would we?" Ron rolls his eyes.

"Just hover then come back down. You can do the much right? Your father didnt buy your talent did he?" Ron still didnt like Draco marrying Hermione but he could admit that he treated Hermione well.

Hydra scowled.

"No, sir. What I didn't come by naturally was trained into me by my father and Harry Potter." a few of the students made awed sounds.

Hydra didn't acknowledge them. He may be arrogant, but he'd been told by several people how good he was. Phoebus rolled his eyes.

"Just remember whose dad he is." Hydra grins.

"I know." He didn't let slip his own father's hope to join their families.

With the Potters and Malfoys united, they'd be unstoppable, or so Draco had told him. Hydra didn't rule it out, but he wasn't about to let his father dictate who he married if he didn't want to. Phoebus smiles and watches him.

"Alright then show us what you got." Hydra raised a brow.

"I'm not getting in trouble just to entertain you, Potter." Phoebus smirks.

"Come on Malfoy lets see if you can fly like my daddy." Hydra smirked. He knew Phoebus was trying to get to his pride, and it was working.

He glanced over to Ron and, finding him talking another first year through the broom handling, leapt on his own broom and took to the air. He flew in a spiral upward, then took a lap aorund the pitch at brakneck speed, finally diving toward the ground like Harry had taught him. Phoebus grinned then looked at him.

"Bet you cant catch me!" Phoebus stuck his tongue at him and flew away from him at the same breakneck speed.

Hydra didn't even blink, taking off after Phoebus with all his skill and speed.

"Oh, yes I will!" he shouted with a freeing laugh.

Phoebus flew around the pillars as Ron watched them.

"Phoebe! Hydra get down here!" His voice fell on deaf ears as Phoebus weaved in and out of the pillars.

Hydra chased his friend, surprised at how good Phoebus was. He shook his head. He shouldn't be surprised, considering who must have taught him. He wondered briefly if they'd be consigned to the same roles as their fathers. With him always one step behind the Potter child. Phoebus noticed his skirt was fluttering making him nervous people could see the bulging panties. He goes to adjust himself as he swings under the broom at the speed. Hydra catches up instantly, worry lending him speed. He grabs Phoebus' arm and hauls him onto the broom across his lap.

"Hey, be careful!" he says, obviously more worried than mad.

Phoebus looks at him then nods and slowly comes back dow to the ground.

"You two 20 points from Ravenclaw and Gryfindoor." Hydra nods, expecting nothing less.

He's careful as he lets Phoebus back down to the ground, making sure his skirt stays in place. Phoebus lowers his head as everyone is released from class. Rosemary slowly walked over.

"You two were pretty good why did you try to climb off Phoebe?" Phoebus bites his lip before whispering into her ear then whispers the same into Hydra's.

Hydra nods.

"Well, if you wind up on the quidditch team next year, the uniforms are all pants, so you should be fine." he says with a smile, trying to make them feel a bit better.

Phoebus smiles and hugs him gently.

"Thanks." Hydra nods, wrapping Phoebus up with one arm.

"It'll be you and me everyone's cheering for Phoebe. There'll be house wars over our cause." he grinned, his eyes sparking.

"Half the school screaming that Phoebe is the best, the other half yelling for Malfoy." Phoebus giggles.

"Malfoy is our King!" Rosemary laughs hard as they starts to sing Malfoy is our King much to Ron's amusement.

Now that stupid song wasnt his.
