Savage Seduction

So I tore up your letters

Took your picture off my wall

I deleted your number, it was too hard not to call

Felt a little better, told myself I'd be fine

So she told her. And tears were shed, and Ginny turned various shades of pale as she listened to her friend’s traumatic experiences.

“Hermione, I'm sorry,” was all she could mutter afterwards. The brunette witch shook her head and gave a weak smile.

“Its fine, you don't have to be sorry.” Hermione looked up towards the window; the sun was setting pleasantly over the hills in the distance. With a renewed vigor she added, “What's done is done. I'll be happy to put it behind me. Feel no more sorry to talk about it. Now what shall we tell the ministry?”

Of course, it wasn't how she really felt. It was all disguises and facades at the minute, how could she ever put that behind her? Especially after leaving the werewolf was so hard to do. She could only show her friend that she was really getting over it; that would have to do.

“Well I thought you may not like to tell them what really happened after you arrived here the day before yesterday. So I thought up an idea. I'll tell them you bought an old ornate vanishing cabinet from some thrift shop, you know that is like you,” Ginny laughed. “And then I'll say you accidentally vanished into it; you know people do do that more often than you think. I'll tell them you were only back today; nobody needs to know about the real story.”

“Ginny, no offense, but I'm not so stupid as to climb into a vanishing cabinet,” Hermione gave a cheeky grin.

“Oh!” Ginny scowled, “You know what I mean! Tell them you didn't know it was a vanishing cabinet then!”

“I'll tell them I was looking for Narnia,” Hermione stated.

“What?” Ginny said confusingly, on the verge of a laugh – as she knew it was something funny.

“Nothing,” Hermione replied and they both dissolved into a fit of giggling, until Hermione proclaimed it was time for her to get some rest.

The rest of the night however Hermione spent in pensiveness. Guilt riddled her, why didn’t she just tell Ginny the truth? Instead she had spun a tall tale of what had happened, missing out vital details of the story. Was she ashamed of consenting to the werewolf? Yes and no. In a way she felt ashamed that she felt ashamed. Why couldn’t someone share something with him? Was it so bad? She felt guilty on his part for feeling ashamed of telling Ginny. Her friends and family, they wouldn’t understand what she felt, or what she went through. If she even mentioned it, they would scorn her surely. But feeling this shame for what she had done was only making her feel guilty towards the werewolf.

She hadn’t always hated being with him.

Their last night together kept playing in her mind, she remembered how frightened she had felt in his presence, and as her mind played over the scene she could scarcely remember the words they had said to one another. Everything was blurry, and all she could remember was; not wanting to leave. Why? Why could she not leave!? What was it that was making her stay? Although it confused her she knew of a reason why she couldn't leave, although it was not the only one. That night one thought had made itself clear; What if she never saw him again? That had made her head panic, and her heart ache. Did she really have these feelings for him? Should she? After all the things he had done...

Hermione tossed and turned in the bed. She had shut the curtains after Ginny had left her, but she could not even bare to sleep with the thoughts that ran through her head. She didn't want to think about the werewolf; the minute she ran out that door her heart had told her she’d never see him again. Yet she could not think of anyone else. She pushed him from her mind, for now. There was another matter at hand.

Ron.

The witch stared up at the ceiling above her, caramel eyes shining in the darkness. One hand lay behind her head now, and the other resting on her stomach. What was she to do? Ron had cheated on her; how could she take him back? Did it cross her mind that she had done the same thing? Not at all.

Ron was the culprit; and she the victim. Wiping fresh tears away, Hermione rolled over. She didn’t know if she loved him anymore, it was the same as it always was. Everything had began to crumble after school, it just wouldn’t work; she knew it then. But it was so hard to just leave what she had known for years behind. So hard to just pick up her bags and go some place new. The witch sighed; she didn’t really want to see him. She just couldn't bring herself to take him back. She was still so indifferent about him, what was the point? Did he even regret what he did? He probably didn’t even realize.

Gritting her teeth the witch sat up, throwing the covers aside. Yes that was right; Ron probably didn't even know what he did – he never did; he was so clueless. She pulled at the curtain covering the small window beside her bed. The moonlight poured into the tiny room, drenching it in an eerie glow. The windowsill was cold, but she propped up her elbows and looked out into the inky darkness of the night. The moon rose high above her, full and bright. The light cascaded down onto the hill in the distance; illuminating the trees and grassy knolls.

Hermione had been staring right at it; marvelling at its beauty when she realised something. It was full moon. She paused for a second, visibly thinking something over before pulling the curtains shut and lying down again. She would not get back with Ron – She had to get over him.

“Hermione, are you ok?” said Ginny quietly, her hands cupping a warm mug of tea. They were in the quaint little kitchen; pots were boiling merrily on the stove, and a teapot leaked steam on the table at which they sat. The brunette witch sat opposite the host stirring her tea absent-mindedly; a vacant expression was cast on her wan face.

“Hermione?” the redhead said again, “You need some fresh air.”

“Mmm,” said Hermione quietly, “Mmmph,” she said again waking from her reverie. “I know, I'm sorry I really should go. I shouldn't stay here any longer. I've burdened you too long.”

“Of course you haven't. I just think you need to start afresh, and forget about what happened. It will only haunt you otherwise. You’ve been here two weeks now, they expect you back to work soon. You need to think about things. Will you move back in with Ron?” The redhead placed her hand on her friends. They hadn’t talked about Ron since the other day.

“Of course not!” Hermione answered resolutely. Ginny gave a weak smile, the stubborn witch had eluded all of her attempts to get Ron over, and her resistance was wearing down Ginny’s perseverance.

“Hermione, please just hear him out. I know you have thought about this, and I know you said you wanted to just erase him from your life but...What happened to you was terrible, and Ron was really feeling the strain -”

“Oh so having an affair would make it all better would it?” Hermione snapped. Ginny lowered her gaze guiltily.

“It's not his fault-”

“Oh stop defending him just because he's your brother!” Hermione retorted viciously.

“Will you let me finish!” Ginny raised her voice over Hermione's and the latter curtly nodded after recollecting herself. “You and I know what Lavender is like! She tempted Ron. He was inconsolable after you left, he didn't know what to do with himself. She came over once she heard the news, merlin knows how she heard, but she did. And well, you know what she's like! He probably just wanted comforting and it got out of control because she's a horrible conniving witch. It's exactly what she wanted to happen.”

Hermione grimaced. She didn't “leave” she was kidnapped, but she wasn't about to remind Ginny after she had put her through so much. The witch looked at the dregs in her teacup. Lately she had just been sitting around, life slowly passing her by. Perhaps talking it over with him would at least cheer Ginny up – or something. She still couldn’t see them getting back together, but for the sake of her friend maybe they could talk things over.

“Ok fine, I don't know what will happen with me and Ron but I will talk to him and arrange what happens to the house.”

Ginny nodded, the results didn't sound very beneficial – but it was a start. Two weeks had passed already with Hermione still in tatters about everything. Yes she understood it would be very hard being through the whole ordeal and trying to make up with Ron. But the fact was Ron had been waiting since the night she had come back to apologise to her; and she would not hear of it. But now at least there was some movement on the subject. An enormous sigh from the other witch broke Ginny from her thoughts.

“What's the matter?” she asked the witch, reaching for the teapot to top up their mugs.

“Nothing,” stated the other witch, her knuckle firmly under her chin. But suddenly she burst out crying, and Ginny moved to the seat beside her to pat her arm reassuringly. “Well...I just don't think I can live with him again.”

“But why?”

“Well I just don't think I can touch him. Or something. I...I...just don't think I could touch him. Or be around him.” Ginny rubbed her shoulder, she had been told this might happen.

“Look, I think this is all because of what You-know-who did-”

“You-know-who? I wasn't raped by the bloody dark lord you know!” Snapped Hermione. Ginny bit back a retort, she was used to her friend's stubbornness by now.

“You know who I mean,” she said sternly and the brunette witch eyed her scathingly. “Well you do. And I think it's just because of that; you’re afraid to go near Ron now probably, because being with a man is probably going to bring back some memories.”

Hermione shook her head, but Ginny had still a lot more to say on the subject. “Look, I know it was very hard for you. But if you can just forget for the moment, it will make moving in with Ron a lot easier. It was just a little incident; virginity is not a big deal anymore.”

The brunette witch stifled a sob, “Now come on Hermione. It was one little incident. Let's just try and get over it.”

“It wasn't,” sobbed the witch. Ginny gripped her arm tighter.

“What?” She replied, and the witch looked up at her with tear-stained eyes. She said nothing. “He raped you again?”

Hermione shook her head. “Then what?” But the witch went silent again. “Hermione tell me. Tell me what happened. You said-”

“I lied.”

“Why? Hermione if only I knew he had abused you more than that I...” Ginny drifted off not knowing how to finish what she wanted to say.

“It wasn't.”

“It wasn't what?” Ginny was now desperately trying to make eye-contact with the witch but she was avoiding her gaze.

“It wasn't rape,” cried Hermione before dissolving in a fit of hysterical sobs. Ginny was silent, and it took her several seconds to start rubbing Hermione's arm again and trying to calm her down. She kept repeating “It's ok,” to the witch, but Hermione was desperate not to come round. She broke from Ginny's grasp and tore off to her bedroom, her face fresh with tears.

A/N: Short chapter. No one wants to see Hermione blubber all day :P Next chapter is Fenrir-devoted. Woot! :D Edit: Well um, it’s got Fenrir in it to some extent but I would not say it is entirely Fenrir-devoted.

Also Title + Song are meant to refer to Ron. Otherwise this story would be too soppy. She can't fall in love with the bad guy duh!!! (But secretly for any of you smart peoples it can also refer to Fenrir subliminally >.> Honest)
