The Change

Yet again, I am to being without a beta. I am going to finish this story without one because I am frankly tired of having people offer and then not doing the story. My readers enjoyed the story without one before so now, I will continue it without one.

If the chapters are short, forgive me but I am going to try. I think my father would have wanted me to continue writing.

So without further ado,


Chapter 15

Hermione was sitting in a chair, next to the window of the meeting room. She was now starting to show the symptoms of being pregnant, her first bout of morning sickness came as she got out of bed.

Even now her stomach was churning, though it was empty. Her thoughts were jumbled as she continued to stare out the window.


Someone sitting beside her, had Hermione slowly turning her head to see Narcissa with a platter. "Hey, I brought you some tea to sip and crackers to snack on. That should help with your stomach."

"Thanks. I can't believe I am pregnant. I mean, I can but it seems so unreal. Severus has given me a great gift and I understand his reasons for me not being in the battle, now."


Narcissa nodded. "So, you have talked?"

"Yes, I know he is scared something will happen to me or even to our child. I won't fight, I promise that but I hate not being there. I want to be by his side, where I should be now."


Narcissa patted her hand as she sat down the tea cup she was sipping from. "I want to be by Lucius' side also but we also need to protect you and Ginny. It wouldn't have been too big of an issue but now with you being pregnant, it has raised the protection issue more. Severus is just trying to watch out for you both."

Hermione nodded and shifted her gaze, meeting Severus' across the room. "I know. Just like I know he loves me deeply.", she whispered while smiling at the dark haired man. Severus returned her smile and then turned back to the table where Voldemort and Lucius were talking.

Once everyone was in attendance and settled in, Voldemort stood. "Right now, as you can see, we are here for the final meeting. The Order is well aware that we are going to move soon, but there are going to be some changes.

For those who are not aware, Hermione is pregnant. She will not be able to fight in the battle, due to that circumstance as requested by Severus.

Instead of leaving her alone, Ginny, Narcissa and Bella will be keeping her protected at Snape Manor. The Order thinks that Severus is staying at Malfoy Manor and still hasn't pinpointed that Hermione is with him.

The only way that Ginny, Bellatrix or even Narcissa will be allowed to fight is that the battle turns in favor of the Order. That is the only way I will allow any of them to be there. Hermione will not participate in any way, shape, form, or fashion. Snape Manor will be placed on a lock down whenever we shift to attack."

He turned to the three sitting with Hermione. "You will not leave her side, no matter what the reason. Only if myself, Lucius, or Severus contacts you, will you be allowed to leave the manor. While I do not doubt that young Ginny can protect Hermione, there is safety in numbers as the muggle saying goes. Do not disappoint me you three."


Voldemort turned back to the others. "I have decided, instead of Hogwarts, we will attack the Weasley home. That is where they are holding their meetings now. Also, I know that when we are fighting, we will go into fight mode but I am ordering now that neither Remus Lupin, his wife Tonks, Kingsley Shacklebolt or Charlie Weasley will be harmed. I do not care about the rest but those four have helped us out.

The Weasley property is not a large area as the school is. There is not many places to hide. We will surround the home during one of their meetings and attack at once. We will meet again in four days for the final fight. Concentrate on yourselves, destroy those and what is required. Be aware of traps and other nasty things they might use against us. Now, if you all will remain, there is something special going to happen today. I am just waiting for the person to arrive to do it. Feel free to mingle while we wait."

Hermione gave a small jump as Nagini rested her head on the young girl's lap. Once she saw who it was, her hand gently stroked the huge head as she stared out the window. The snake rubbed it's head gently over her legs and then slid back down to the floor.

It was then that the door opened and an unknown man walked in. "Forgive me for being late. There was an emergency that had to be taken care of. If you are ready, we will proceed."


Voldemort nodded and spoke. "Hermione, dear, could you please come up here and stand?"

Hermione walked up and stood in front of Voldemort and the man. It was then that Lucius stepped up to Severus' right side and Voldemort gently took her hand, placing it on her elbow. He gave a soft wink to her and turned to face the man, causing her to do the same.


"Are we ready?", the man questioned.

Severus nodded and the man smiled.

"For those gathered here today, do so with great happiness. On this day, at this time, we are bearing witness to the joining of two persons into one. Let us wish them happiness and luck as they go through their lives together. Who gives this woman to this man?"

Voldemort smiled. "I do. I give this woman to this man."


"Severus Snape, do you take this woman, Hermione Granger to be your wife as spoken here in this room and these witnesses?"

"I do."

"Do you promise on your oath to be truthful to only her and never take another as your lover?"

"I do."

"Do you promise to support her through all her days and treat her with kindness and care to the best of your abilities?"

"I do."


The man then turned to Hermione.

"Hermione Granger.do you take this man, Severus Snape to be your husband as spoken here in this room and these witnesses?"

"I do."

"Do you promise on your oath to be truthful to only him and never take another as your lover?"

"I do."

"Do you promise to support him through all his days and treat him with kindness and care to the best of your abilities?"

"I do."


The man then turned to Lucius. "The rings?"


Lucius handed him the two rings and stepped back. The man then took the smallest one and gently laid it in Severus' hand.

"Place the ring on her finger and repeat after me."

He waited till Severus slid the ring onto her finger and then stared into Hermione's eyes.

"I give this ring as a token of my never ending love for you. The ring is a continuous circle, never ending, never breaking. My love for you will never end and never break."


Severus cleared his throat and spoke the words.

The man then placed Severus' ring in Hermione's hand and watched as she repeated the action and the words.

"I give this ring as a token of my never ending love for you. The ring is a continuous circle, never ending, never breaking. My love for you will never end and never break."


The man smiled. "You may kiss your wife, Severus."


Severus smiled and pulled her closer, gently kissing her as the room looked on. As he stepped back, both him and Hermione had tears in their eyes as the man spoke.

"I now give you Severus and Hermione Snape."

The room broke into clapping and cat calls, causing Hermione to laugh. She threw her arms around Severus and hugged him tight, her husband repeating the actions. "I love you, Hermione. Don't think I married you because of our child. I would have done it regardless.", he whispered.

"I know, Severus. I don't doubt your reasoning or your love but I am glad we did it before the battle. I am now yours fully and completely. I love you also."

The two turned to accept the well wishes of the other death eaters. The man nodded to Severus. "I will not announce this until after the battle. I understand your reasoning for doing so. I will meet you all in four days. Have a good day."


Voldemort nodded. "Thank you for coming on such a short notice but as you can see, Hermione is not spelled in any way. These two truly love each other."


The man nodded again. "It is rare to find love as true as their's in this day and age. I wish them all the happiness in the world."


Voldemort looked at Severus and Hermione and smiled. "Yes, they are happy. The battle will work in their favor and Severus will live to see his first born. I will make sure of it." , he thought as Bellatrix walked over to him, bringing him a plate of food and a glass of wine.

Hermione: "Yeah, we are married."

Severus: "See. The authoress knows what she is doing. So wife, what now?"
ShadowandFlamePanther: "Honeymoon, though you sorta skipped that step. The child is already growing inside her."

Lucius: "Why does he get a kid?"

Severus and Hermione: "YOU ALREADY HAVE A SON!"

Draco stops in the middle of kissing Ginny. "Huh?"

Hermione: Nothing Draco. Go back to kissing Ginny."

Narcissa: "Remember to read and review."
