“Yes!” crowed Harry. “I win again!”
“You cheated, Potter,” groaned Draco as he laid his cards facedown.
“How’d you get a royal flush?” said Ron, annoyed.
“I don’t know,” said Harry, shrugging. “Just lucky, I guess.” Grinning, Harry gathered up his winnings. “Whose turn to deal?”
“Mine,” said Hermione. She began to shuffle.
“I think I’m willing to team up with your friends, just to get even with you, Potter.”
“Go ahead and try,” smirked Harry.
Hermione dealt the cards, her eyes trained on Harry as if she also thought he was cheating.
“Cut the cards,” she said.
Harry did, and Hermione flipped over the top card from where Harry cut them.
“Sevens are wild. Again.”
“I don’t understand it,” said Ron as he eyed his own cards. “How is it that Harry keeps getting the good hands? I mean every time I think I got something good…”
“Just my night, I guess,” smiled Harry.
“I need three,” said Draco.
“I need a whole new hand,” moaned Ron.
“Harry?” said Hermione, expecting him to need cards.
Harry smiled. “I don’t need any.” He tossed a galleon into the ante.
“I fold,” sighed Draco.
