Chapter Sixteen – Total Eclipse of the Heart
Snape saw Hermione out from the corner of his eye. Humiliation. He was used to it wasn’t he? Whether it was at his uncle’s hands, the nasty Hogwarts yo of of his childhood, Dumbledore, or the Dark Lord. He took for years. Here was the final irony: with the Queen of the Faerie he’d be taking it for centuries! Didn’t matter. Snape summoned all his energies for one huge burst of Legilimency. He showed Hermione a picture of her taking their son and running like Hell out of there.
Exhausted from the effort of splitting his focus between pleasuring the Queen and getting the message to the young Witch, Snape felt himselllinlling… falling…
Snape woke up.
He was in bed. It was a warm, soft bed—A Muggle bed. It took a moment to orientate himself, but he saw it was Hermione’s bedroom. There was the bassinette with his son in it, softly illuminated from the hallway light. He felt her behind him.
“Severus,” said Hermione in a sleepy voice, “awake already?”
He turned around. Hermione was there, looking so lovely. He dipped his head to kiss her. His body was quite aroused and he was glad to find her responsive to her advances. She gently pushed his head down to her breasts and he began to nibble on them while one of his hands caressed her nub. She moaned sweetly and stroked his hair.
There was something Snape was supposed to remember, but he couldn’t.
He laid kisses on her stomach and trailed them down to her thatch. Pulling her legs up and around his shoulders, he buried his nose in her folds, licking and sucking. When she started to buck he trapped her hips with one hand, forcing his tongue deep inside of her.
&&&
Hermione watched as Snape’s face went blank. His entire body shook for a moment and then he began kissing the Faerie Queen in earnest. His kisses led from her breasts down to…
She closed her eyes.
When she reopened them she was on the couch back home. Waldo was in his bassinette, blissfully sleeping and there was Remus sitting on the couch next to her. He held her hand and stroked her fingers in a loving manner.
“How did I get back here?”
“You don’t remember, Hermione?”
“That thing, it did something to Severus.” She stood up and started pacing in an agitated manner.
“The Faerie Queen. Yes, you were explaining how you escaped.”
“I didn’t escape.” She stopped and stared at her old professor.
“You’re still upset from your ordeal.” Remus licked his lips in a sultry manner.
Hermione felt something prickle between her legs. It was desire. The same way she’d always felt near him. Her body begged to relax and sit down. She fought it.
“You were telling me how you grabbed Waldo and ran away from the glade…” Remus opened his arms to her, “You’re shaking, come here, Hermione.”
When she didn’t move, he got up from the couch and put his arms around her. He smelt like Remus and his lips were soft and warm on hers. Hermione sighed and allowed her body to melt into his.
&&&
He could tell she was nearing her climax. He lifted his lips from her and came up over her body.
“Hermione,” he whispered into her ear.
He felt her take her hand and guide him into her. She was so very hot and ready for him.
&&&
Hermione looked up at Remus. Everything about him was so deliciously real. But her mind wouldn’t let it go. “So how did I escape?”
Remus studied her for a moment before bringing her down on the couch with him. “Severus told you to take the baby and run.”
“And no one noticed. No one caught me.”
Remus blushed. “You didn’t explain that part to me.”
“No. And it makes no sense.”
“Things don’t in the Faerie lands.”
“How would you know that? You aren’t the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.”
“Well, one doesn’t have to be a genius—“
Hermione swallowed and stared at the creature pretending to be Remus. It watched her before getting a surprised expression on its face. “Oh, you are the bright one.”
“Thank you. And you are?”
“No one.”
“You were trying to seduce me.”
“The Queen commanded that I keep you entertained.”
“For how long?”
“Whenever?” Remus shrugged. “Time doesn’t flow the same way here.”
There was something familiar in the all too clipped tones. “You are the one—“
“You thought of me as Smiley. I like that name. It quite suits me.”
Hermione had a sinking feeling. She’d been in its arms.
“Why Remus? Why not Severus?”
“My mistake. I found your feelings about Remus Lupin are less conflicted. You trust him in a way that you would never trust,” and suddenly it was Snape there on the couch beside her, “me. However, had I gone with Snape, you may have seen through it anyway.”
Teatungtung Hermione’s eyes. “Is that what happened to Severus? Did she turn into someone he fancied?”
“The Queen is stronger at illusion than yours truly. And, yes, he wants you. He doesn’t wish to question what he was experiencing.”
“Which was?”
“My, we do ask a lot of questions,” the thing that looked like Snape sneered.
“Severus is a master at Occlumency. Why couldn’t he break free?”
“He thinks he’s making love to you. It’s what he wants. He’s happy and will be very happy for many years to come.”
“No!”
It leaned forward. “Perhaps we need to start over. I didn’t wish you to be upset by all this.”
“Of course, I’m upset. You are about to… to…”
It looked at her with a gentleness that was alien to Snape’s face.
“Must you?”
“What?”
“You know nothing about either of them. You are just not very believable.”
The creature looked crushed. Tears came to its eyes. “Sorry. Here…” He transformed to Joseph Fiennes. “Is this better? You saw him in a stage play once. Really, I can be anyone you think of.”
“Oh dear. You are a sensitive um... um… soul.” Hermione felt embarrassed. She didn’t know what to think or to call it.
It looked up at her with glistening, soft eyes. “You really think so?”
“Think what?”
“That I have a soul? The Fey are supposed to be soulless, you know.”
“No. I really haven’t read that much about them. Can I get you a cup of tea?”
&&&
He cradled her in his arms. He felt relaxed after the physical discharge. Unfortunately, the illusion only lasted as long as his ardor did. He hadn’t been able to go that long during sex for years. And it was obvious to him that he was merely living out the illusion that his mistress wished him to.
If only he had something to bargain with. He had to get Hermione and his son to safety.
Hermione rolled to her side and stroked his face. He responded by placing a kiss in her palm.
“Your Highness.”
&&&
“So the thing is… you have to help us.”
The being had returned to looking like Remus, somehow believing that this was still the form that Hermione could best relate to. Hermione tried to understand how far this mind reading went. It wasn’t complete, but seemed to be much more effective than Legilimency.
It smiled and shook his head. “Why do you think I’d be willing to do that?”
“Because you are reasonable. Perhaps that is why you do feel an affinity with Remus—he’s a wonderful man. And, you know, I’d do anything. Anything.” Hermione touched him on his knee and gave a little squeeze.
“I’m honored that you are still interested in spite of you knowing what I am. Or is it merelyt yot you are willing to prostitute yourself to get your way?” A look of consternation flowed over its face.
Hermione sipped her tea and ate a biscuit. The illusion was just amazing. “There must be a way to get Severus and my son back to our world.”
It looked saddened. “And I cannot convince you to stay here? You insist on leaving?”
“Yes.”
“This goes against the will of our Queen.”
“To hell with the Queen.” Hermione’s temper flared. “Why did she steal my son in the first place? I’ve never done anything to her.”
It chuckled. “Are you quite sure?”
Hermione felt a cold chill run down her spine. “Have I done something to merit this?”
“No.” It leaned forward and brushed a strand of hair from her face. “But the Queen will say otherwise.”
“Tell me then.”
“Give me a kiss.”
Hermione knew what she was kissing. It was a mercy that it had taken the form of Remus. But she stopped herself just before her lips touched it. “I’ll do more. Grant safe passage for Severus and my son. I’ll stay here and I’ll be yours, in whatever form you wish to take. I’ll not complain. I’ll be whatever you want me to be, your slave, your lover. Just get my son and his father out and away from her and this place!”
There was a shimmering and she found herself sitting across from it in a grove of enormous vines that formed a tree house for them. The creature’s phalluses hung in a dejected manner as he said, “Admit it, you find me hideous,” he said.
She came forward and placed herself on its lap and put her arms around its neck ignoring the now semi-hard penises all around her. “Help me.” And she kissed him on his thin, purple lips. “And I will be yours forever.”
&&&
The Queen did not drop her disguise, but sat up in bed with a quizzical look on her face. “Yes, my love?”
“A boon from you. Please allow my son and his mother to return to their land.”
She laughed. It sounded odd coming from Hermione’s lips because it was shrill and somewhat like the sound of breaking glass. “You are all mine now. I owe you nothing.”
“Is there no way?”
“Each of you owes me something.”
“Not the child. He’s innocent.”
“Your little bastard will be happier here than he could ever be in your lands. You should be grateful.”
“Your highness,” Severus had spent years groveling, appeasing, flattering, cajoling, crawling, begging, but his heart sank for he had absolutely no idea what any of it would gain, “why keep them here? You have me as your loyal servant. They would be nothing but a burden to you. I can guarantee you that the female is a complete bore. An annoying little know-it-all troublemaker who…”
“Who tried to undo all our hard work in enslaving the Elves to your world?” The thing posing as Hermione gave a cold, regal glare. “It was the Faerie who hashed out the spells which keep your House Elves safely in thrall. And this little upstart chooses to attempt to undo all our magicks? She shall serve us as her punishment. And as for you! The sins of the father shall be paid.”
Severus tried to understand what she was talking about, but he knew so little about Saccius. Had his father crossed the Faerie Queen in some way? He leaned forward and caressed the Queen’s neck, gently stroking it and then kissing it. He needed information if he was to find a way to help Hermione.
Just then there was a commotion. He couldn’t see what it was but it seemed to be outside of the bedroom that he was sharing with the Queen/Hermione. He continued to kiss her body, heading down to her breasts in hopes of keeping her occupied and unaware of what was going on just in case it might help his son and Hermione.
&&&
Hermione was ready to face the Queen. She strode through the Technicolor forest armed with the information given to her by Smiley. The thing followed close behind her, nervously wringing it’s hands.
Hermione found the Queen still in the bower, still being made love to by her new paramour. Hermione exhaled and looked to Smiley for support.
“Your Highness.”
“What are you doing here?” Hermione was grateful that Severus took no notice of them.
“I’ve come to see my son and to return with him and his father to our own lands.” She put her hands on her hips and jutted out her chin.
The Queen gave a mock gasp of surprise. “Well, you are quite amusing after all. And why do you think I should simply free you?”
“Because you have no right to Waldo. He’s not yours.”
“Are you calling me a thief?”
“Yes.”
“Well.” The skies darkened and a cold wind blew out of nowhere. “I will have you know that you trespassed against the laws of Faerie in your vile campaign to remove the Elves from where we enslaved them.”
“But you knew nothing of that. Nothing at all until some nymph brought my son to you to be presented to the court. Then you stole him from her.”
“Sliewynk is very young. She thought I’d allow her to keep the child. Foolish girl, she is barely more than a child herself. Her magicks are not developed enough to keep a human child well or even alive.”
Hermione paled. “My son. Let me see him. As a mother, I demand it.”
“You begin to bore me. Go!”
“By the milk that is in my breasts, how dare you come between a mother and her child!” Hermione was trembling from the fear that indeed she would. “Who the Hell do you think you are? Are we not both women? How would you feel if someone took your child? You wouldn’t like it then!”
The Queen was off of her bower, leaving Severus with a confused look on his face.
“Eramus, my consort. You were instructed to keep her occupied. Is this how you obey me?”
“She is most unusual, my lady.” His members quaked. “Most determined. You might not wish her to serve you.”
“WHAT!” Hermione had carefully negotiated a deal that would allow her to stay and her son and Severus to leave.
“I believe that her presence here could raise a most unpleasant force which may destroy us all.”
The Queen looked stunned. “What sort of magicks could a mortal such as this young Witch produce?”
“Democracy.” Erasmus spoke in a low urgent tone. “Listen to me your highness. She is an instigator-- A rabble-rouser of the worst sort. She talks of extending human rights to all creatures, human or not—mortal or not! Give her what she wants and get rid of her before she can do serious damage to your reign.”
Hermione couldn’t believe her ears. “No! I’m not leaving without my son.”
The Queen sat down and absent-mindedly stroked Severus who seemed to be deaf, dumb and blind to the situation. “I trust you, Erasmus. Give her the child and have her escorted out.”
Hermione tried to reach Severus but found the strong arms of the Queen’s consort around her. A small creature with stick like arms appeared from the underbrush holding Waldo. Hermione’s heart leapt, she pulled away and she ran for her child. She scooped up the babe and tenderly held him. Tears were running down her face.
“Jerkypot. You shall conduct the mortal and her child from my realm.”
“What about Severus?” asked Hermione.
“He is none of your concern. Go now before I change my mind and keep the child.” The Queen turned her back on Hermione and began caressing Snape’s privates to hardness.
Hermione felt Jerkypot tug on her arm. “Listen to the Queen.” It hissed at her.
Still silently crying, Hermione followed the tiny creature away from the meadow. She stopped once to look at Erasmus, but he had turned away from her. She left.

She left.

Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Steinman
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you\'re never coming round
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit restless and I dream of something wild
Turnaround, Every now and I g I get a little bit helpless and I\'m lying like a child in your arms
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit angry and I know I\'ve got to get out and cry
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit terrified but then I see the look in your eyes
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you\'ll only hold me tight
We\'ll be holding on forever
And we\'ll only be making it right
Cause we\'ll never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time
I don\'t know what to do and I\'m always in the dark
We\'re living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight
Forever\'s gonna start tonight
Forever\'s gonna start tonight
Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now I\'m only falling apart
There\'s nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now there\'s only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart
INSTRUMENTAL
Turnaround bright eyes
Turnaround bright eyes
Turnaround, Every now and then I know you\'ll never be the boy you always wanted to be
Turnaround, But every now and then I know you\'ll always be the only boy who wanted me the way that I am
Turnaround, Every now and then I know there\'s no one in the universe as magical and wondrous as you
Turnaround, Every now and then I know there\'s nothing any better and there\'s nothing I just wouldn\'t do
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you\'ll only hold me tight
Well be holding on forever
And we\'ll only be making it right
Cause we\'ll never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time
I don\'t know what to do and I\'m always in the dark
We\'re living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight
Forever\'s gonna start tonight
Forever\'s gonna start tonight
Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now I\'m onlllinlling apart
Nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now there\'s only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart
