***OKay, I\'m telling you now, yes, this is the end of this particular story...but wait, I will start on a sequal pretty soon...I just have to figure out everything out, so give me time, and you\'ll have more fluffness...anyway, here\'s the last chapter...
As soon as I could I talked to Headmaster MacGonagal. I couldn’t take being away from Draco everyday. He was in the city at our flat, and I was at Hogwarts. Though we owled back and forth, and saw each other at an almost regular rate, it wasn’t enough. I could see why none of the teachers at Hogwarts were married. The strain on the relationship would be too much. So I asked if she had an opening for a teacher, or if he could move into my school apartment.
Until she had an opening for something suitable for him he could stay with me.
One afternoon when most of the school was at Hogsmeade, I brought up something to Draco I had been thinking about since he woke up at St. Mungo’s.
We were lying in bed, the covers draped around our naked bodies so we didn’t get chilled. I propped myself up on my elbow, “Draco?”
His eyes were closed, “Hmm?”
“Would you,” I paused and took a deep breath, “would you perhaps want to marry me? I mean, if I’m going to fast for you, or if you don’t ever want to get married that’s totally understandable. It was just an ide-”
“Slow down Harry.” He was smiling now, his silver eyes staring into mine. “Are you asking me to marry you?”
I nodded, then reached over into the drawer in our nightstand. Carefully I pulled out a small box and opened it for him to see. Inside lay a white gold band with a carved symbol of a snake. “I saw this in a muggle shop the other day, and thought of you,” I said smiling.
“Well this isn’t the exact proposal I was expecting,” he smirked.
Quickly I climbed out of bed and he sat up completely, letting his feet dangle over the side of the mattress. I got down onto one knee, took his hands and kissed it. “Would you, Draco Malfoy, please make me the happiest man alive?”
He was smirking, but I saw tears pool in his eyes. “Why Harry Potter, I never knew you could fall for a Slytherin like me.”
“I did. So? Will you,” I asked, starting to get worried. Maybe he would say no.
Maybe he didn’t love me as much as I loved him. Maybe-
“I can see everything you’re thinking in your eyes Potter. You should learn not to get so emotional,” he said, standing and helping me up. He kissed me softly, “yes, Harry. I will marry you. I was just surprised because I had planned on asking when you went back to school. I had it all worked out. In front of everyone at the Great Hall.” He was pouting slightly, sad I ruined his surprise.
“You were going to ask me?”
“Yes. You don’t think I planned on letting you slip through my fingers ever, did you?”
“Draco, are you sure? I mean, if we’re going too fast-”
“Sometimes you’re just too thick. Yes, Harry, I want to marry you. I love you, and whether we understand it or not, we’re meant to be together. Somehow I think we’ve both always known that.”
Staring into his eyes I nodded. At Hogwarts it always seemed like Draco was there. Constantly. Perhaps being the biggest low life ever, but always there.
Even then I couldn’t imagine him not in my life. Now, after all we had been through in our rather short relationship, marriage seemed like the most logical next step. I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him fiercely.
I thought of my father and mother, wondering if they were happy for me too.
Though, I knew the answer was yes. After years of fighting and the loneliness I was sure would envelope me one day, Draco had shown up and made everything okay. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. A tear slid down my cheek onto his bare shoulder, and I smiled, “I love you Draco.”
“I love you too.”
THE END…and I mean that…well maybe…I guess we’ll see
***Anyway, here you go *tear* I can\'t believe it\'s finished...oh there has to be another one, even I can\'t let my boys go like this...thanks again all of you who have reviewed. I really appreciate all the support. Now...dont\' forget, keep a look out for my next story!
