*****************2 Weeks Later*******************

Draco and Severus walked down Diagon Alley trying to find Harry something for his birthday. Severus had planned on getting Harry some books. 

"So Draco any ideas yet?"

"Actually i do have an idea, can we head down to Eeylops so I can look around?"

"Of course." 

They headed down the alley and into Eeylops. Draco walked around the shop looking around. He walked back to the snakes to look at them. 

'I wish I could talk to them, and see which one is the best.'

"Uncle Sev can you speak parsletonge?"

"Very little Draco why?"

"Well I wanted to see which one was the right one for him."

"Lets see what I can do."

"Hello. I don't speak very well but my godson wants to know a few things. He wants to buy one of you for his boyfriend."

"Actually sir, you speak quite well." A little black, green, and silver snake told Severus.

"Okay Draco what did you want to know?" Severus asked.

"Well which ones are poisonous? When you find that out ask if they would protect their new master with everything they have? Oh yeah tell them about Harry being a speaker."

"Okay Draco, let me see."

"Did you get all of that or do I need to repeat it?"

"We understand the little blonde one. I am the only poisonous one here. I have been here for a long while. Yes I would protect my master whatever it takes. As for him being a speaker that is great. That means he and I will be able to talk. I would also like to tell you that I will not bite anyone unless I feel that it is absolutely necessary."

"Draco I think I have found the perfect one."

"Okay let me get the shopkeeper." Draco walked back upfront.

"Excuse me madam. I would liek to buy a snake from back there please."

"Sure thing hun." She and Draco walked back to where Severus was standing.

"Okay which one?" Severus pointed and said.

"That one right there." 

Pointing to the little black, green, and sliver snake.

"Are you sure sir. That snake is very poisonous. Perhaps your son would like something else."

"First of all he is my godson not my son. Secondly that is the one he wants to buy, that is the one he will have." Severus said sneering.

"Very well sir."

"I will also need a basket for it." Draco told the lady.

She got a basket out and levitated the snake into it and went up to the counter.

"How much?" Draco asked.

"25 galleons, 15 sickles, 25 knuts."

"Very well, here you are." Draco said handing her the proper amount.

"Okay uncle Sev I am ready to go." 

"Alright Draco I need to go to Florish and Blotts. Then we can head home."

"Okay."

They walked down the alley to Florish and Blotts and walked in.

"Why don't you look around for half and hour then meet me back here Draco."

"Okay uncle Sev."

Draco walked around looking at the books trying to decide what to buy. He walked into the section with magical animals to look around. He saw a couple of books on snakes and started looking at them.

'Maybe I should get one for Harry.'

Draco picked up a couple on magical snakes and how to care for them. He wasn't sure if they would help Harry or not but it was worth a try. By the time Draco got done looking at the books on animals, it was time to meet Severus. Draco walked back up front and saw Severus waiting for him.

"Okay uncle Sev, I found a couple of books that might help Harry with his new snake."

"Okay Draco lets get these bought and go home."

Severus and Draco walked up to the counter and bought their books. Then they headed to the Leaky Cauldron to use the floo. They stepped up to the fireplace, pulled out some floo powder and called together, 

"Black manor." They stepped out on the other side into the manor. 

"I am going to take Harry's presents up to my room, so he doesn't see them before tonight." Draco said.

"Alright Dragon. Dinner is at 5. You only have an hour before then."

"Okay uncle Sev." 

Severus and Draco went to their respective rooms. When Severus walked into his and Sirius' rooms, Sirius was sitting there reading. When he heard Severus open the door he looked up. 

"Hey Sev. Have a good day shopping with Draco?" 

"Yes I did. We got somethings for Harry's birthday. I got him some Defence books. And Draco got him a new pet and some books on it."

"Oh really. What kind of pet did Draco get him?" Sirius asked.

"Oh well he got him a snake. It is very poisionous, but will only bite when it is necessary. I already checked."

"As long as you are sure that it won't just bite anyone."

"Love I am absolutely sure it will not bite anyone unless it or Harry are threatened." Severus said leaning in to kiss Sirius.

************ In Draco's Room**************

'Now where can I put this snake so Harry doesn't find it' Draco saw his desk.

'Oh the perfect spot.'

He pulled out his chair and put the basket in the space, where the chair had been.

"Okay you need to stay there until I come back tonight to give you to Harry." 

Draco heard the snake hiss in reply. Draco went into his bathroom and started his shower. He stripped out of his clothes and stepped in. 

'Ahhhh. This feels good. I hope Harry likes his birthday presents I got him.' Draco thought as he washed his hair and body.

He got out waved his wand over his body and hair to dry himself. Draco wrapped a towel around his waist. He walked into his room and up to his wardrobe. He pulled out a pair of dark green slacks, a silver tee-shirt with a pair of snakes on it, his dragon-hide boots to finish it off. Just as he was finishing putting on his boots, a house elf popped in.

"Master Malfoy, you's being needed downstairs for dinner and Master Harry's birthday."

"Okay thank-you. Is there a place where the presents are being put for Harry?" 

"Oh yes sir. They's being put in the library until after dinner. Is you's needing something put in there?"

"If you would please. Just becareful with it, it is a snake. But it will not harm you."

"Ok sir." Draco went over got the basket out.

"Alright you have to stay in there just a little while longer. Then you can meet Harry." There was a hiss in reply.

"Okay here you go Tilly. You can take him down with the other presents."

"Okay Master Draco." 

Tilly popped away with the basket. Draco walked downstairs and into the dinning room. He walked over to Harry and kissed him on the cheek.

"Evening everyone." Draco said as he sat down.

"Hello Draco." Severus and Sirius said together.

"Hey Draco. How was your time with Sev?" Harry asked.

"It was good just to spend some time with uncle Sev. Got some books and he got some potions ingredients."

"Thats good. So you guys do know that I don't want a party or anything right?"

"Yes Harry we know." Severus answered. Harry nodded in reply.

"But that doesn't mean you aren't getting presents though." Draco told Harry. Harry looked at everyone.

"You didn't have to get me anything. Really just being here and away from the Dursley's is enough for me."

"Harry pup. Please just let us do this. I know you haven't ever had a real birthday with those people you lived with." Sirius said with a pouty look.

"Alright, Alright fine." Harry said with a smile. The finished up their dinner and walked into the library.
