Letters & Events thru the Years
September 1989
Dear Grandpa
I've been here not only two days and already I want to come home. It's not like its terrible here. But I have found that this school is run like the Muggle Military. I'm scared. Talk to my parents, maybe just maybe they let me come home. I'm so alone.
Love, Lucas

Dear Grandson
I know you want more than anything to come home. I want you home. I've tried talking to your parents, but they are still saying this Academy is what's best for you. I disagree, you should be here with me. Stay strong my little one and know I'll always be with you.
Love, Grandpa Albus
The letters just kept coming Albus Dumbledore would receive one every week for the first year. When the Summer came in 1990, Lucas had declined coming home. The letter was a cause for concern. It was colder than normal.
June 1990
Grandfather,
I'm writing to regretfully inform you that I will not be leaving the Academy for the summer. There are several classes that I have enrolled in. Guess what I finally made a friend.
Lucas
The third year was the same. But this time Albus found out some of the classes his grandson had decided to study. But one class in perticular caused Albus some alarm.
September 1991
Grandfather,
I just wanted you to know that Summer was great. I got into this new class, it's called Blood Ruins. And the cool thing is that it uses real blood. Anyway my friend Kale is so cool. He showed me how he enlarges his fangs. He's a Royal Vampire. Did I tell you that? Anyway I gotta go, Kale getting ready to teach me what it means to be a donor.
Lucas

Grandson,
I'm glad you made a friend. Am alittle worried about the Blood Ruins classes. Just be careful Lucas, especially when your using your blood its very powerful. Keep in touch Love, Grandpa
The letters just kept coming weekly. Lucas would talk all about his friend Kale and the classes. But Blood Ruins was his favorite. Albus found out in December when Lucas sent his Christmas present that he had become a donor to Kale. And that when the boy had first tasted his blood he had gotten a mild addiction and had to reframe from large feedings off Lucas.
Albus was starting to really worry and had talked to Severus and he said that Lucas was fine and that Lilly was pregnant again. That made Albus back off. But he did ask if Lucas knew of the new addition. And when he was told that Lucas didn't . Albus began to wonder why. Summer came and went and Lucas remained at the Academy. Or so he told him and his parents. He still didn't know he was a big brother. His mother had given birth on August 12th. A girl by the name of Alexis Rose. There were no letters from Lucas in September.

Grandfather
How could they Grandfather! I had to find out through my Battle Professor I had a sibling. What just because they throw me away I have NO rights to know of this from them. If they would have told me I'd have came home this summer. Forget it! Love, Lucas
Grandson,
I'm sorry you had to find out that way. I didn't know if you already knew or not by the time summer came. Forgive my little Merlin. Come home this summer Lucas, Please. Love,Grandpa Albus
Lucas didn't write again until May. At that time Albus was all but ready to go get Lucas by any means necessary. Until the letter.
May 1993
Grandpa
I'm not coming home. Father and Mother are going to Paris with my baby sister for vacation. I guess that I've been forgotten. I hadn't heard from my parents in over six months. Until they send me a letter telling me not to come home. Because they wouldn't be there. I didn't even get a gift for Yule. Maybe we could meet somewhere. If you can find a place that I could floo too, sometime in August. I miss you Grandfather. Love, Lucas
And meet they did. Albus had floo'd into the Inn that was closest to the Academy and Lucas came the next morning. They had a great two weeks together. Albus could see the change in Lucas. He was colder, more withdrawn. His magic was a bit darker. All Albus could think was that some of the classes were of Dark nature that Lucas had come to enjoy. He just hoped that his grandson didn't let it consume him. This would be the last time they saw each other for the next two years.
Lucas had just turned 14 when Albus made a surprise visit to Atrum Vita. And he didn't like what he saw. Lucas's aura was a bright gold mixed with gray. Albus knew that his grandson had starting to get to deep in the Forbidden Arts. He tried to reason with him, but all he had gotten was silence. Albus knew he still had to wait two more years before he could try to undo what Lucas had done to himself. He just hoped it wouldn't be to late.
After his visit on Lucas's 14th birthday. He once again confronted Severus and Lilly and all but demanded they bring the boy back. Severus refused, saying that Atrum Vita was the best for Lucas. For the boy had became independant. And he had learned that your actions had consequences.
Hogwarts was hosting the Triwizard tournament that Fall. And it was a disaster. Jaime Potter was chosen as the fourth champion. And by the end of the final task. Jaime had almost lost his life. The Dark Lord had returned and Jaime Potter was in a medical induced coma for three months. When the boy came out of coma, he had screamed at what happened. He hadn't told the Headmaster that the Dark Lord had told him that he wasn't the one that destroyed his body. He just went on as nothing happened. Soaking up more fame for his family and himself.
Albus hadn't heard from Lucas that whole year. Little did he know was that Lucas was building his army for the battle that would take place in the years to come. And that Lucas and himself would come to terms with why he had went into the Forbidden Arts the way he did.
July 1996
Dearest Grandfather
One more year and I'm coming home. I'll have graduated from Atrum Vita and will be ready for your training. There are many surprises that I have for you Grandfather. I can't wait to show and tell you all about them. It's sad you know. I haven't heard from my parents in two years. Do they even think of me, now that they have another child. And one on the way? What did I do wrong Grandfather? Love,Lucas
My Little Merlin,
You did nothing wrong. It's they who have wronged you. I'm so glad that you will be with me soon. I've already prepared you a suite next to mine in the Headmaster's tower. Another child? I had no idea. As you know your Father has left Hogwarts to spend more time at home. Since the second rise of Voldemort. People here are running scared again. Voldemort has picked up with his raids and now I'm going to have to reopen the Order. Take care my little Merlin and when you graduate come home to me. Love, Grandfather Albus
Lucas's final year was long and stressful. But he had managed to graduate head of his class. It was June and he was spending his time with Kale until the beginning of August. Then he was going home to his Grandfather. In all the years he'd spent away he had done what was needed. He had become a leader and had an army at his call. Soon he would vanquish the evil and rebuild the Magical World the right way. Hopefully he'd have his Grandfather beside him. Because as far as he was concerned he was the only family Lucas had.
Through the years his relationship with his parent's waned. And now they were non exsistant. He had never meet his little sister, hell he couldn't even begin to remember her birthday. It seemed as though as soon as his parents had enrolled him in the Academy. He was forgotten by everyone but his Grandfather.
Over the next month and a half, Lucas took the time to be a teenager. Sure he had a diploma, but he needed this time to unwind. Before his grandfather put him through the ringer. He knew that he'd need to explain everything to the old man. But he was confident that after all was said and done. His Grandfather would stand by his side.
It was time. Lucas thought as he boarded the train home to England. It had been seven years since he had last been in Europe. The only thing he missed was his Grandfather and Hogwarts.
Home he thought as he watched the scenary pass him by. He was finally going home to Hogwarts. And he was ready to embrace his destiny.
