Chapter 15: A new dawn begins.

Harry had just woken and found Draco curled around him. It suddenly hit him that today, they were getting married, and at this, a huge grin spread across his face. He looked at the clock on the mantle in their room and seen it was now six in the morning. He looked down at Draco, whose head was resting on his chest, and was softly snoring. He leaned forward and gave Draco's head a quick kiss, then gently run his fingers through Draco's soft blond locks. He knew he had to get Draco up so they could get ready, and knew Draco needed the most time of them both. He then placed his hand on Draco's shoulder and gave it a slight shake.

"Draco, get up love, it's morning". Harry said just above a whisper.

Draco rolled over onto his back, his eyes fluttered open. "What, Harry, what time is it"?

"It's going on seven Draco, you need to get up, we're supposed to be at Gringotts by nine". Harry explained.

At this, Draco shot up and out of the bed. "Damn Harry, why didn't you wake me sooner, you know it takes me a while to get ready! I'll never look my best now, I'll never have the time"!

Draco ran to one of the two the large wardrobes in the room and threw open the doors. He started grabbing one robe after the other, inspecting each with a critical eye. He finally pulled one out in a dark, emerald green, with silver piping, and embroidery. The material looked to be made of the best satin. The lapels and cuffs were jet black along with the inside. He then started to rummage through the bottom drawers, roughly yanking each out as he went, looking for some suitable trousers.

"You know Draco, by the time your finished, that wardrobe wont be able to fight another battle as you'll have thoroughly trounced it". Harry commented with a chrotle.

Draco stopped what he was doing, quickly turned, and eyed Harry at his comment. "Harry, this is NOT a wardrobe, it's an Armoire! You can be so plebian sometimes"! He then quickly went back to searching for the trousers.

Harry gave an amused snort at this, shook his head, and calmly left the room to find some tea and breakfast. He figured leaving Draco to his own devices would be best at the moment. Actually, he thought he would be best out of the way before he was steam-rolled over by Draco on his way to the bath. As Harry made it downstairs and into the kitchen, he found Remus already up. He forgot that Remus usually awoke around five in the morning.

"Hey Remus, up already as always I see". Harry said as he poured himself some tea and took a seat across from his close friend.

"Yes Harry, up as always. Uh Harry, you said you were getting married yesterday, is this true"? Remus asked with a worried look on his face.

"Yup, I will be married around nine this morning if all goes well. Oh, by the way, your my best man! As soon as you’re up to it, get ready, we have to be at Gringotts and in Griphook’s office at least by nine". Harry said happily.

"Harry, are you sure about this, isn't this a bit too soon"? Remus hesitantly asked, his mouth slightly agape at Harry's happy, though casual, demeanor.

"There's more to it than just us both being in love Remus. Though we both are, don't get me wrong, and we would have wed later on with a big wedding. We will have another formal one when the time is right. Now, it is also due to political reasons, and we will both be legally considered adults by the ministry afterwards. My full inheritance will come to me today after the wedding, both Potter and Black, along with the ones of Gryffindor and Slytherin. I will officially own one half of Hogwarts, control three Wizengamot seats, and two founders seats on the Hogwarts board. Draco will control half his inheritance as long as Lucius stays convicted, along with controlling the seats he had. We will have the power to literally shut down a lot of what Voldermort is doing using the laws at hand. Last, there is going to be some changes made as to how Hogwarts is run". Harry explained as he looked evenly at Remus.

"What do yo mean by 'changes' Harry"? Remus enquired, almost scared as to what was to come.

"Well, this nonsense about not having proper teachers for the students is going to stop. For one, I will be getting your job back as the defense teacher. Snape, well he'll probably be looking for another job really quick if he steps one toe out of line. I can override anything Dumbledore does after today; even have him fired if I really want to. It's according to how both act in September". Harry stated as if that was the final word in the matter. "Come on, get ready, we'll be back in no time".

"All right, I will see you in an hour". Remus said as he left the kitchen to get ready.

Harry then finished his tea and left for his room. Once inside, he heard Draco still fussing inside the bath. Harry retrieved his best dress robe and headed for the main bath down the hall. He knew it wouldn't take him that long to get ready, thirty minutes tops. After he was bathed and dressed, he went back to his room and shouted for Dobby.

"Master Harry called for Dobby? What can Dobby do for the great Harry Potter sir"? Dobby asked with a gush.

"Dobby, please fix a quick breakfast for Draco, Remus, and myself, and have it ready before eight if that's possible". Harry asked the surprised house elf.

"Dobby will see to it sir, anything for the great Harry Potter"! With that, Dobby popped out of sight with a snap of his fingers.

"Hurry up Draco, we're going to be late! Breakfast will be done shortly and we wont have much time to eat"! Harry shouted to Draco through the bathroom door.

"I'm coming, I'm coming, and I’m almost done"! Draco shouted back right before the door opened and Draco came back into the room with a towel wrapped around his waist. He quickly started putting on his trousers, shoes, and robe. "What in the hell is the big hurry Harry"?

"Well, it's going on eight, and we have to be there at nine. We still have to eat before we go". Harry explained to his flustered soon-to-be husband.

"OK, I'm ready, let's head downstairs. Who cooked, Remus"? Draco asked as he quickly made his way out the door.

"Um no, I had Dobby get breakfast ready". Harry said, nervous about what Dobby would set out.

As the boys made it to the top of the stairs they met Remus on his way. He was dressed in the new robes Harry had bought him the last Christmas they had with Sirius. He made a striking figure when properly dressed, but now could afford the niceties of life for himself. Remus Lupin didn't know it yet, but he would never have to work another day in his life if he didn't want to. He hadn't seen his Gringott's account yet, but he had enough to raise a family and live rather well off.

"My Remus, you make a rather dashing fellow"! Draco exclaimed.

"Thanks Draco, this robe was a present from Harry. It actually startled me to see myself in the mirror after I changed into it". Remus said with a small chrotle. "Let's go downstairs for you two to eat".

All three then proceeded downstairs and into the kitchen where Dobby had laid out doughnuts, éclairs, scones, toast, marmalade, clotted cream, and butter. He had also set out some tea, coffee, milk, and pumpkin juice. All together it was a quick breakfast just as he was asked to produce. At their entrance, Dobby turned and bowed to the three wizards.

"Dobby is so sorry he could not cook for Master Harry, but I has not enough time. I feel as I will have to punish myself, as all I could do was a continental breakfast". Dobby finished while ringing his hands.

"No Dobby, this is perfect. I couldn't handle any greasy food this morning. I think all of our stomachs are a little off with nerves right now. You did wonderful, don't punish yourself". Harry explained to the little elf.

Dobby looked up and beamed at Harry with a huge smile. "If Master Harry doesn't need Dobby now, I will be going back to Hogwarts. Is there anything else Master Harry"? At Harry's shake of his head, Dobby snapped his fingers and disapparated with a loud pop.

Harry picked up a scone, spread out some clotted cream on it, and then took a huge bite. "Damn, this is good. This will make a quick meal and we can get underway".

Remus and Draco both nodded in assent and began to eat what they wanted. After they finished, Draco checked each other over for any food that may have made its way onto their robes. When he found all was right, they departed from the lodge, applied their glamour’s, checked the wards, and disapparated to Diagon Alley. The apparated behind the Leaky Cauldron, then proceeded through the brick gateway heading directly to Gringotts. As they made it to the doors of the bank, Severus Snape stepped out. He came to a stop in front of the three wizards and automatically noticed Remus.

"Lupin, what are you doing here at Gringotts? I didn't think they allowed anyone with your... affliction to have an account now"? Snape asked silkily. "Who are these two young wizards with you"?

Harry's blood began to boil at Snapes remark. All he wanted to do was hex him where he stood and let St. Mungo's sort him out. His hand had started to inch towards his wand when Draco caught it.

"It's order business Severus. These two boys are Yanks, and their parents have just came over to help. I can't talk about this here, Dumbledore’s orders". Remus quickly lied. "I'm here to help them with their Gringotts accounts for school". Remus grabbed both boys by the shoulder and guided them inside the bank.

Snape stood looking at the three's backs as they made their way quickly past him. He shook his head and started walking down Diagon Alley. 'I never heard Dumbledore say anything about any Yanks coming over to fight with the order. Surely he would have said something'. Snape thought to himself. He was almost to the gateway that led to the Leaky Cauldron when it hit him. "God Damnit, that was Draco and Potter"! He then turned quickly and ran at full speed back up the alley towards the bank, pushing others out of his way, as he got nearer. He burst into the main lobby of the bank, but never saw the three anywhere. He then quickly ran up to the desk where Gornuk, Griphook’s assistant worked.

"Did you see Remus Lupin and two younger wizards come in here"? Snape demanded.

Gornuk looked up at Snape over his glasses, his beady black eyes glinting, his face looking as if he was staring at something very unpleasant. "Ah yes, he had a meeting this morning with Mr. Griphook, private business I may add".

"Well then, I demand to see him you insolent little whelp"! Snape growled out.

At this, Gornuk stood up behind his desk on his chair, and pointed his finger directly at the potions professor. "YOU DEMAND! You demand nothing of me sir! I own you in this building, don't EVER forget that! I am Mr. Gornuk to you! You, who by the way, has a very trivial sum in this bank. I do NOT take orders from a greasy little insignificant human"!

Snape cowed back, highly embarrassed at the loud remark Gornuk yelled out. He looked around to see all the customers staring at him. Some were even snickering under their hands. His blood began to boil at this, but what could he do. The goblins were known to be dirty fighters and tricky little devils. If he did anything more, he knew that every goblin would be all over him before he could as much as sneeze.

"I apologize Mr. Gornuk, I should learn to control my temper better. I think one of the boys with Mr. Lupin was my Godson, Draco Malfoy. I must speak to him at once, it is of the utmost importance". Snape replied silkily as a snake ready to strike.

"Really, you say? I did not see Mr. Malfoy with him, and I know all the Malfoys rather well". Gornuk replied and looked back down at his ledger as if he was going back to work.

"That's fine, but I would like to wait on them to be finished. If I could ask, may I be able to wait outside Mr. Griphook’s office"? Snape asked while offering the goblin five galleons as a bribe.

Gornuk looked back up at Snape and saw the galleons lying before him. He reached out with his bony fingers and took the gold, then pocketed it. "Yes, yes, all right, you may follow me". Gornuk finished with a grin showing all his sharp teeth. He knew what would happen when Harry Potter found him there snooping around. He led Severus Snape to a single hard-backed chair beside the office door and left him there.

Snape watched the smaller goblin leave, and quickly reached into his pocket, pulling out what looked to be a ball of string. He placed one end in his ear, the other slithered its way under the door. 'The Weasley twins at least come up with a few useful things. These extendable ears have come in handy'. Snape thought to himself as he listened in on the conversation.

"... I now pronounce you husband and husband, bonded wizards and mates, from now until your deaths".

Snape pulled the string from his ear and threw it harshly down onto the floor. He quickly pulled his wand and cast an unlocking charm, then ran inside. He stopped cold in his tracks as he watched Harry bloody Potter kissing his only Godson, Draco Malfoy. The golden glow about the two newlyweds had just started to dissipate. He could have sworn that a small puff of black smoke lifted from Potter during the glow. There was also Lupin standing at Potter's side, with a huge grin on his face, and mouthing the word 'congratulations'. He couldn't take it, he started to shake with anger. He aimed his wand at Harry and started to form a curse with his mouth. It didn't take long for the next thing to happen, Snape couldn't breathe. Both of his hands went to his throat as if he were trying to pry invisible hands from choking the life from him. He went down on his knees and looked up as Harry turned around, looking like he could murder him from where he stood. He saw Draco telling Harry to let him go before he killed him, and Lupin doing his best to calm Harry. The vengeance he seen in Harry Potter's eyes scared him as he tried his best to get one breath. Finally, with a twitch of Harry's wand, he was able to breathe. Breathe he did, taking in great gulps of air, his chest heaving with it. After he had gotten his breath, he stood up shakily to face Harry. He then noticed the two thick golden chains hanging around Potters neck. They both had large pendants hanging from them, and each had Hogwarts crests on them, one Slytherin and one Gryffindor. He stood there looking like a king adorned with all that gold. The chain links were rectangular bars of embossed gold having ancient runes engraved on them. Each link had smaller gold pendants hanging from them of magical creatures. Both together made Harry look as if he had a huge golden mane like a lion about his neck and chest. He quickly glanced at Potter's left hand and saw the wedding and engagement bands. He seen the same on his Godson, but had to quickly look back at Potter's hands as he noticed other rings adorning his fingers. There, wrapping his fingers were the signet rings of the Potter, Black, Gryffindor, and Slytherin lines. There, before him, was no longer a scrawny child, but a man of aristocracy and nobility, who looked like an angry God about to set his wrath loose upon him. He had to think of his words wisely to get to speak to Draco now, and he knew it. Draco's mother and father would disown him, and that he was for sure.

"Draco, I need to speak with you most urgently, your mother is looking for you". Snape said while trying his best to hold back his temper.

"Severus, you come crashing into my wedding to tell me this? Why didn't my mother come if it was that urgent? Anything you have to say to me can now be said before my husband as we have no secrets from each other now". Draco replied with all the haughtiness of his aristocratic upbringing. Draco was now a lord and would conduct himself as such.

"Draco, your mother has been worried about you since you left home. She is concerned about you well being, and as your Godfather, I should have been here with you to... witness this proceeding". Snape said as he sneered out the last part.

"Is that so Severus? The same mother who was willing to let Voldermort grope me with his eyes! The same mother who was willing to turn me over to Voldermort to make me his plaything and follower! The same one who let my aunt Bella use the cruciatus curse on me for close to ten minutes until I pissed myself! I will not follow that thing that you and my father do, and I will never degrade myself by bowing down as his toady, and licking his feet like all of you do! I am now the head of the Malfoy household and control half of the estate. I am the acting lord of the manor as long as my so-called father stays convicted. Between Harry and myself, we are the single wealthiest wizards in Britain, and own the only wizarding school on this island. Now, can you tell me why I would give that up, along with the love of my life, and go back to what you are speaking of"? Draco questioned loudly, now shaking with rage.

"Snape, I suggest you go back to Draco's mother and inform her of what has happened. Tell her, is she decides to defect to my side, not the orders, to contact Draco or me by owl. Tell her to not place any tracking spells on the owl, or it will die as soon as it hits the wards. I will then send back a message telling her where to meet us". Harry stated evenly as he looked at Snape with disdain.

"Severus, it's best to do as Harry says. Let this go, and go straight back to Narcissa with the message. I am staying with the boys, and will be until they return to school, that is if they have time". Remus said as he got between the boys and Snape, his wand drawn, but still at his side.

Snape sneered at the lot, the man from the ministry, the goblin Griphook, the two boys, and at Remus. He seen it was a losing battle today, so he turned sharply on his heel and stormed out in high dudgeon.

Harry then turned to Draco, wrapping his arms around his waist. "Well my beautiful dragon, shall we now go on our honeymoon, or would you rather tour the vaults that we can now access"?

"I wouldn't mind a peak inside the Hogwarts vault, then back for some playtime at the lodge". Draco said with a smirk, and then leaned in to Harry for another chaste kiss.

"Mr. Griphook, is there time to do this now, I mean go to the Hogwarts vault"? Harry asked.

"Yes Mr. Potter, we have all the time in the world. Let me show Mr. Jenkins out, as he needs to get your wedding recorded as soon as possible at the ministry. I will be back shortly". Griphook said as he began to show the ministry employee out the door.

Harry stepped over to a plush chair and took a seat. He reached up to rub his scar as it had burned during the bonding. He hoped that Voldermort was nowhere near, or that he had sensed the marriage between he and Draco. If he had, he worried what might happen to Narcissa as no matter what, he didn't want anything to hurt Draco now.

Albus Dumbledore had hit it lucky the day before. As he was leaving the ministry, he was making his way through the Wizengamot offices, and overheard a conversation from an old friend of his, Bob Ogden.

"Yes, yes, did you see those memories that were shown in Diagon Alley, I was there for the whole lot? It made me remember when I was an auror all those years ago. I had an encounter with the Gaunt’s at the time. I was the one they sent when that Morphin Gaunt had cursed that young Riddle man in the town pub with hives. Come to find out, that is you-know-who's uncle and father! The whole lot of them Gaunt’s was nutters, they were. Not a sane one of them, and I had to leave to get some back up to arrest Morphin. What a time it was then I'll tell you"! Bob explained to another member.

Dumbledore had caught Bob as he had left the office and asked him all about the situation. He then asked Bob if he could provide a memory of that time so he could later view it in his pensieve. As soon as Dumbledore was back in his office, he emptied the glass phial of the memory into the pensieve setting on his desk, and immediately went in to view everything that had taken place. After he was finished, he had to set down quickly as he was shaken by what he had seen.

Today though, Dumbledore was planning his next move. He knew that Voldermort had most likely created several horcruxes because of another memory he had recently obtained, though distorted as it was, from an ex-potions professor from his school, Horace Slughorn. He knew the memory had been altered, but never the less, he knew he would eventually worm the truth out of the man. First and foremost, he needed to make a trip to Little Hangleton, or to the old Gaunt home to have a snoop around. Dumbledore figured that Voldermort may have hidden one of his horcruxes there, and it was not an opportunity to pass up. He knew of one that was destroyed by Harry, the diary that Lucius had given to Ginny Weasley. He also thought, and was pretty sure that, Harry himself carried one in his scar. That though, he couldn't reveal as of yet, if his plan was to work accordingly. Dumbledore knew that Harry would have to die in the end, and he would finish Voldermort himself. He would then worm his way into the Potter fortune and retire more than well off. He also knew that the snake Nagini was probably another, by the way Harry had seen through its eyes the night it attacked Arthur Weasley. Now that he had viewed Bob's memory, he also knew what he thought two others could be, Slytherins locket, and the Peverell ring, or the Resurrection Stone. Oh yes, Dumbledore was excited about this. That last Hallow, he knew where all three now were. He already had one, the wand. The other lay with Harry Potter himself in his invisibility cloak. The ring contained the stone, which someone in the Peverell family down the line had mounted. With those three together, he would finally be the master of death and be able to control everything within his reach. He would finally accept the position of the minister and bring the entire wizarding world around to his views. He would then be shed of Voldermort, the death eaters, and Harry would no longer be in his way. He would use Harry as his pawn, until the time came. Voldermort would most likely end him; he doubted the boy could survive it. There were ways to tell by viewing the aura of a being or an object to tell if it was a horcrux. The part of the soul that was attached left a black shadow close to the surface of the object inside its aura. He had already seen it around Harry when he first came back to school after defeating Voldermort trying to steal the Sorcerers or Philosophers Stone. While Harry was still unconscious in the hospital ward, he had cast the aura-revealing spell on him. There, he saw the black mist within the aura undulating close to Harry's young body. He knew then for sure that Voldermort had survived the rebounded killing curse. Dumbledore also knew that Voldermort had made several horcruxes due to how distorted his human figure had become after ripping out several parts of the soul that made it up. He was not a human anymore but a thing, an abomination. With this thought, he stood up, retrieved the sword of Gryffindor from behind his desk, and left Hogwarts for Little Hangleton.

Severus Snape was in a hurry, and a big hurry at that. He rushed through the halls of Hogwarts, his black cloak billowing behind him. He was now storming along the seventh floor and came to a halt outside the gargoyle at Dumbledore’s office. He sneered at the thing protecting the entrance and gave the password. "Crystallized Pineapple". Snape wondered where the old fool had come up with this one, as he had never seen him eat that particular confection. The only one he knew that enjoyed it was an old potions professor who had retired from there years ago. As the gargoyle swung out of his way, he made his way up the spiraling staircase to the door of the headmaster’s office. He banged the large brass knocker loudly several times with no response.

"Is the conniving old fool ever in any more"! Snape exclaimed, and left back down the staircase. He then headed to the dungeons for his office to floo Narcissa with his news.

Snape blew through the dungeon in a fast walk, almost a run, and almost skidding to a halt outside his office door. He quickly entered and proceeded to ward the room with several anti-eavesdropping wards. He then proceeded directly to his fireplace, threw in some floo powder, and spoke the words, "Malfoy Manor". As soon as he stuck his head in the green flames, he saw Narcissa coming into view in the main parlor. "Narcissa, I need to speak to you at once, it's about Draco".

"Severus, what have you now found out about my son"? Narcissa haughtily asked as she looked down her nose at the green flames.

"I have no time for your antics Narcissa! I found your son today at Gringotts getting married! He was getting married to the Potter brat no less! Is it all right to come through"? Snape angrily asked.

"Yes, yes, come on through and tell me what you saw". Narcissa said as she turned to ask an elf to bring a tea service.

Snape stepped out of the flames and set down in a large wingback chair opposite Narcissa before the fireplace. The elf arrived with the tray and poured each a cup of tea before popping out of site.

"Narcissa, I ran into that werewolf escorting two young men into Gringotts earlier today. He claimed they were Yanks whose parents had come over to help the order. They went on inside, and I started to leave until it hit me who the two boys were. They were Draco and Potter using glamour’s. I hurried back to the bank, but was held up by the goblins. When I finally made it to the office they were in, the final wedding vows had just been said, and the two boys were kissing. I couldn't stop it as I hadn't enough time. Potter was dressed up in some rig wearing these huge golden chains about his neck. They had the Gryffindor and Slytherin crests on the main pendants. I also noticed he was wearing four signet rings, including a wedding band with an engagement band. The signet rings were for the Potter, Black, Gryffindor, and Slytherin families. I do not have any idea what that was about. I did my best to speak to Draco, but he would have none of it. That Potter brat had choked me with a strangulation curse as soon as I came into the room, and where he learned that is beyond me. I couldn't do anything, there were too many witnesses". Snape finally spit out trying to catch his breath.

"Really? What did these necklaces look like Severus"? Narcissa enquired.

"Your son just married Potter and your worried about some trinkets or jewelry"? Snape spat.

"Severus, do not take that tone with me! Now, answer the question I asked, and I will then know how to proceed". Narcissa replied, her temper starting to show through.

"The necklaces links were made up of golden bars having runes on each. Hanging from each bar was a magical creature cast in gold. The main pendant in the middle was much larger, and had the Slytherin and Gryffindor crests in their center. They looked similar to the gaudy Egyptian necklaces on the pharaohs. The signet rings had the crests also. That's the best I can describe them". Snape finished and looked over at Narcissa whose mouth was hanging agape.

Narcissa couldn't speak; she didn't know what to think. Those two necklaces belonged to the founders and were to show their nobility. Only an heir could wear them, this she well knew. The same went with the rings, and of course Snape was too dense to know this. Harry Potter was the heir of both founders, and her son had married into the wizarding world’s royalty. At this thought, a shiver ran down her spine.

"Oh my, oh my, my, my. My son, a royal, I would have never thought it. No wonder the boy is so powerful, and he now has married my son. What did Draco say Severus"?

"He is not too pleased with any of us at the moment Narcissa. He thinks you sold him out to the Dark Lord just as Lucius did. He even mocked me for bowing before him. He said you let Bellatrix cast the cruciatus curse on him for ten minutes before she left, and that the Dark Lord was looking lecherously at him while he was here". Snape replied with a smirk. He figured that would get Narcissa's head out of the clouds thinking about jewelry.

"Did Mr. Potter have anything to say"? Narcissa pressed.

"Yes he did, and gave me a message for you. He said that if you wish to defect", Snape snorted at this, "that you were to send him an owl. He said not to place a tracking charm on it, or the owl would meet its death at the wards. He said he would then send back an owl with a place to meet". Snape said smugly waiting for her tantrum to commence.

Narcissa stood and walked to a window overlooking the gardens. She thought for a moment before answering very calmly. "I see, thank you Severus, you may go".

Snape’s jaw dropped at Narcissa's behavior. He quickly stood and exclaimed, "After all I've told you that is it! It doesn't matter to you that Draco, my Godson, has been infected by that Potter whelp! I will not stand for this to happen Narcissa. I will kill Potter with my bare hands if I get the chance. He will NOT ruin Draco while I'm alive"!

Narcissa whirled around with her wand drawn so fast that Snape never seen it coming. She had it aimed directly at his heart. Her words flowed with the anger of a mother who would protect her son at any cost. "Severus, I will say this one time, and one time only! If you dare to lay a hand on my son-in-law, I will flay you alive, and drop your writhing body in a vat of brine! You will do nothing towards my family, nor my son, and I don't give a damn if Lucius made you Draco's Godfather! If you as much as lay one finger on either of those boys, Dumbledore will find you turning up dead, do I make myself perfectly clear Severus"!

Severus looked like a pole-axed steer. His mouth was moving, he well knew this, but not a word would utter forth. His anger was building to apoplectic levels and all he could do was turn around, throw some floo powder in the fire, and disappear back to the rock he crawled out from under at Hogwarts.

As soon as Snape had left Malfoy Manor, Narcissa set down and began to pen a long letter to her son.

A Gringotts tram pulled up in front of an old vault in the deepest bowels of the caverns below the bank. Two large Dragons guarded it, and two goblins had gone on ahead with their clinkers to hold them at bay. As soon as it was safe, Harry and Draco exited the cart along with Griphook who showed them to vault number seven, the vault of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry again performed the blood giving to the door, the tumblers made a creaky groan, and the huge door opened on its rusty hinges. As the three stepped inside, the two newlyweds were in awe at the mere size of the place. The cavern was several stories high, and as large as a muggle football field. It was full of shelves containing scrolls and books dating back to the founding of the school. There was piles and piles of gold that was used to run the school and pay the salaries of the teachers. In the rear was four other smaller caverns, one for each founder. Each contained the works of Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. The two young men knew they had struck it rich as they now had access to ancient magic that Voldermort knew not. They new they would be back, and do a thorough search of the archives. They noticed that there were glowing lines of magic in front of each of the founder’s rooms. Harry turned to Griphook to question him about this, as they resembled the age line that Dumbledore drew around the Goblet of Fire.

"Mr. Griphook, what are those lines of magic for"? Harry politely asked as he pointed them out.

"Please Mr. Potter, call me Griphook. I think we're all among friends now, wouldn't you say? The lines are heirship lines and will only allow the true heir to pass. You Harry Potter, have access to two of them. If you can locate the other two heirs, and can trust them, they would have access to the other two. Voldermort can not get in here as he is now not considered human. His body has changed, if you have noticed, as he has only part of his soul left". Griphook explained.

"Er, Griphook, I think I know the heir to the Hufflepuff room, he is a Smith. Voldermort killed his great aunt, and a couple of the founder’s artifacts were stolen from her. I will have a talk with him, without revealing anything, to see if I can trust him. I will also try to locate Ravenclaw’s heir when I return to school, if not before. Last, what do you mean by Voldermort not now being human, and only having part of his soul"? Harry asked, not liking what he heard about souls and being inhuman at all.

"Harry Potter.., Harry, it is the darkest of magic of which he has done to stay alive. It is magic that we goblins will not speak of. It was hoped that all references to it were destroyed, except for what was still in this vault, and protected most savagely, and securely. It is the dark magic used with taking a life, or a murder Harry. I will not speak its name, but there is a scroll protected here that will, and can, explain what he has done. I ask you to only read it here, and never take it from the confines of this vault. It can not be let out, and that the Dark Lord knows about it is the most terrible thing that could have happened". Griphook stated as he showed Harry a scroll that was floating in mid air, surrounded by a globe of pure golden magic. "I ask that you only touch it Harry, as the orb will kill anyone else who tries it. Only an heir can touch it, and Godric Gryffindor himself protected it. It will cause you no harm, just reach inside the orb and retrieve it".

Harry stepped over to the railing that encircled the glowing golden orb. There was an inscription on the railing, all about the top surface. He bent over and peered at it through his glasses. The inscription chilled him to the bone when he read it. 'All ye bare witness that any who are not of our blood, will surely be halt at hells door, at the blink of an eye'. Harry raised up, squared his shoulders, dug deep for his Gryffindor courage, and reached up into the orb. As soon as his hand made contact with the snapping magic, he noticed he felt nothing but a very slight tingle. The magic had accepted him of being of blood, and he wrapped his hand around the scroll. Harry brought the scroll over to a lit torch on the wall where he could read it, and unrolled the old vellum parchment. He took great care that he would not damage it, and begin to read.

The secret of immortality by the Horcrux

By Damian Dominique Denius II, 213 B.C.

Translated by Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor in the year of 980 A.D.

A Horcrux is an instrument used to house a part of ones immortal soul, thus binding it to the earth, and not allowing it to go into the ether at the time of death. The body will die, but the rest of the soul, as a spiritual form, will remain earth bound where it can be brought back to life in various ways. This can be had through possession, necromancy, or a regenerated body by certain dark rituals.

A Horcrux is made of the darkest magick known, and can only be formed by the ripping apart of ones own soul. The only thing that can rip apart the soul into pieces is the act of murder, or taking the life of another human being. Once the deadly deed has been done, the incantation "EGO imperium meus animus prodigium in vos (1)" is said while aiming ones wand at the object to become the Horcrux.

The soul can then be removed only by destroying the Horcrux by a means to where the object cannot be repaired magickally. The soul can be poisoned, or magickally burned before it can escape, and rejoin the living ghost of the one who created it, if found by an enemy. However, the only way the creator can accept the portion back is with true remorse for what they have done, and only then will the parts rejoin. Since the Horcrux was created with pure hatred, only pure love can conquer it, and thus send it back into the ether.

Both animate and inanimate objects can be used to create a Horcrux, but it is warned against using an animate, or living being. The killing curse, a sword, or an axe would easily destroy these Horcruxes.

It is not known how many Horcruxes can be formed from one soul, nor how many times one can be split. There was a case in 1002 B.C, where an Egyptian wizard created three, and his human form began to degrade. His facial features became plainly withdrawn, and his skin became an opalescent color. He was to have led an attack on the city of King David, but the kings high priest found out what the man had done, and destroyed the three Horcruxes, using the fire in the alter of the temple. Later on, the Egyptian wizard came into the town to spy, and the Kings guards slew him easily. He was buried outside the city gates, with his body placed face down towards Hell.

The only way the creator can be killed is to have all their Horcruxes destroyed beforehand. If this is done, he is a mere mortal again, and can be slew by any hand.

After Harry read the scroll, he shakily rolled it up and placed it back inside the crackling magic of the orb to float there indefinitely. He turned on his heel, looked quickly at Draco, fell to his knees, and vomited up what was left of his breakfast. Draco quickly rushed to him and held him up, while rubbing his back trying to calm him.

"Oh God Harry, are you all right, what happened"? Draco asked, totally scared of the look he had seen on Harry's face.

"It's terrible what he has done Draco. It's awful and I can't talk about it right now. I almost wish I didn't know now what he has done. It is the most sickening thing anyone could do, the most immoral, and the un-godliest. Voldermort is an abomination walking on this earth, that's all I can say. He is truly not human as we are, and he is nothing but a beast, or a devil". Harry explained shakily as his trembling hand wiped the vomit from his mouth. "Come on Draco, we have to leave here and go home. There is a portion of that memory I have to get rid of before something happens to me. It has to be destroyed. We can use the pensieve for that I think, or really just permanently withdraw that portion. I will explain everything after it's done".

With that, Draco helped Harry to his feet, and they left the vault along with Griphook. The goblin merely shook his head at what the young Potter now knew, and he pitied him for it. It was a great burden to know, but he needed to in order to defeat the thing that now called itself Voldermort. They all three got back onto the tram and made their way back to the bank building several thousand feet above them. Once there, Harry and Draco departed out the back of the bank with Remus in tow, and disapparated back to the lodge.
