Chapter 14- Winding Down

Love…War…What’s the Difference?

Winding Down

It had been over two months since Hermione and Severus had left Hogwarts. Hermione was fully healed. Lucius had returned to Hogwarts the first week of March. Hermione was currently sitting on the sofa reading a letter from Ron.

Dear Hermione and Professor Snape,

The plan is working perfectly. I’ve even buddied up with Malfoy. Pansy has gotten close to Malfoy’s mum. Voldemort still doesn’t suspect you guys are alive or that Pansy and I are spies.

Harry says the Order is ready. As of yet, Voldemort is still planning to attack the last week of May. Pansy is doing fine and says hi. Tell the Professor hi and to keep taking care of you. Soon, this will all be over and you and he cane actually live your lives,

See ya soon,
Ron

“That from Mr. Weasley?” Severus asked as he entered the room.

“Yeah. He and Pansy are doing fine and say hi,” she answered as she handed him the letter.

Severus read it as he wiped off his face with the towel draped around his neck. He had just come in from his afternoon run. Not a moment too soon as a rumble of thunder echoed through the house and rain began to fall.

“His letter confirms what Lucius said in his letter yesterday,” he replied.

“Why don’t you grab a shower and I’ll fix us some tea and muffins,” she said.

“Sounds good. I’ll be back down in a bit,” he smiled.

Severus kissed her cheek and headed upstairs. Hermione stood up and entered the beautiful kitchen. She put the tea kettle on to boil and set about fixing the cups and plate of muffins. She had just poured the water into the cups when Severus entered the kitchen.

“Hermione, you all right?” he asked as they sat at the table.

“I’ve just been feeling tired lately. I don’t know why. I’ve been getting plenty of sleep. Maybe I’m coming down with something,” she answered.

“Do you want me to send for Poppy?” he questioned worriedly.

“No. I’m sure I’ll be fine in a few days,” she said.

“All right, but if you continue to feel like this after a few days, I’m sending for Poppy,” he insisted.

“Deal,” she smiled.

Lucius sat in his study reading over plans the Order had come up with. He let out a sigh. Despite all angles being covered, he was still extremely worried about the upcoming battle.

“Lucius,” Sirius said as he stuck his head in the room.

“Oh, hello Sirius. Please come in and have a seat,” Lucius greeted.

“Look, normally, I would be talking to Remus about this, but he’s still resting after the full moon last night,” Sirius replied as he sat in an arm chair.

“What’s on your mind?” Lucius asked.

“I’m worried. I can’t shake the feeling that something is going to happen,” Sirius sighed.

“How so?” Lucius questioned.

“I can’t explain it. It’s centered around Hermione and Snape. I think one of them might die,” Sirius answered worriedly.

Lucius let out a worried breath. He too had been feeling the same thing. He got to his feet and went to pour himself and Sirius a drink. Sirius gratefully took the glass of Scotch and took a large swig.

“You’re not the only one who’s had these feelings. So have I. I haven’t told Severus because I don’t want to add to his worries,” Lucius said.

“I agree. What should we do?” Sirius asked.

“Just keep our eyes and ears open. And wait. That’s always the hardest thing to do. Waiting,” Lucius sighed.

Sirius nodded. The two wizards sat in silence and finished their drinks. Both hoping their gut feelings were wrong and that Hermione and Severus would come through the final battle alive and together.

March passed into April. Hermione and Severus were waiting patiently for word that they could return to Hogwarts. The couple sat in the back yard enjoying the warm sunny day together.

“So, what are we going to do once this war is over?” Hermione asked.

“First of all, I’m going to resign from teaching. I’ve been there for so long. I was planning on returning to Snape Manor,” Severus answered.

“That sounds wonderful. Then you can help me find someone to train under to become a Potions Mistress,” she smiled.

“I think that can be arranged. Then maybe you and I could do a bit of traveling before you and I open an Apothecary,” he said as he pulled her onto his lap.

“Then…maybe we could have a baby,” she replied hopefully.

“A baby huh?” he repeated.

Hermione looked up at his face nervously. Having children was something they hadn’t discussed yet. She hoped he wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.

“Yes,” she stated.

“I like the sound of that,” he smiled.

Severus leaned down and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. Hermione slid her arms around his neck and returned the kiss. Slowly, Severus lowered her to the grass. The house was miles away from anyone, so they were guaranteed their privacy.

“Shall we begin practicing?” he asked with a smirk.

“By all means,” she nodded.

Hermione snapped her fingers and their clothes melted away. Albus said light magic was all right, but they rarely used any magic at all.

“Anxious are we?” he chuckled.

“Yes,” she breathed.

Her fingers tangled in his hair and pulled his head down toward hers. Their lips met once more as Hermione wrapped her arms and legs around Severus. He sighed as she began grinding against his cock.

“Oh my dearest wife. You’re already wet and ready from me aren’t you?” he sighed.

“Yes. Now Severus. Please,” she moaned.

He slanted his mouth over her as he slowly slid his cock into her. Both gasped as he filled her completely. Once fully in her, they paused and just held each other, kissing tenderly.

“How do you want it? Slow and long or fast and rough?” he asked breathlessly.

“Slow and long,” she groaned.

Slow and long was what she got. Severus began moving within her. He moved so slow that Hermione felt every inch of his cock sliding in and out of her. She arched her body into his as she softly grazed his back with her nails.

“Oh god. Severus. You feel so good,” she whispered as she nipped his ear with her teeth.

“So do you Hermione. So wet and soft,” he groaned as he drug his tongue along the column of her throat.

For hours it seemed, they laid on the grass, tenderly making love. Finally, they couldn’t stand it. Severus pulled out and rolled her onto her stomach and thrust into her once more.

“Yes! Ohhh!” she cried.

“That’s it Hermione. Feel me going deep inside your pussy,” he growled.

Hermione clutched the grass as she moved against him. Taking him deeper and deeper. Severus molded his chest to her back as their movements became harder and faster. Their cries carrying into the spring air.

“Yes! I’m gonna come!” she gasped.

“Me too. Ohhh. Hermione,” he sighed.

A few moments later, they reached their climax together.

“Aaahhh! Severus!”

“Hermione! Uuuhhh! Fuck!”

Trembling and gasping for air, they laid on their sides. Severus was still buried in her warm sheath, neither in any hurry for him to pull out, as he softly kissed her shoulders. Hermione was running her finger tips along his arm that was wrapped around her stomach.

“I love you Hermione,” he whispered.

“I love you too Severus. So very much,” she sighed.

They soon fell asleep. The warm April breeze lulling them to a dream filled sleep, holding one another tightly.
