Chapter 14: Interesting Developments

Hi everyone! This is Shiny-chan! I’ve had some mad writers block and it really irritated me. I spent two days trying to figure

out and end for this chapter; I really hope that it isn’t horrible. I’ve applied to be a lifeguard for this summer, but omg the

swim test was a complete bitch. I had to swim eight laps of their pool continuously, and then with little rest time like only

one minute, I had to dive 8 feet for a 10 lb brick. Afterwards I felt like throwing up and dying right then and there. I don’t

know how I managed to drive home but I did. It took at least two hours to recover from that. But anyways now for responses to

my reviewers.

Thrnbrooke: Yes it was a shock wasn’t it! Poor Harry thought Sirius was gone forever. However, I like Sirius too much to have

him really be dead so I brought him back. Nyah. So there JK

Tina109: I’m glad you thought this last chapter was good! I enjoy seeing your reviews.

Bats: Sirius came to the school with Touya so he wasn’t there that long. Also, I admit I was having a bad day when I wrote that

chapter so that tude was all me! Hahahahaha! I also agree that Light and Dark separation is pretty annoying because the world

isn’t black and white like that. I hadn’t even considered Lucius Malfoy actually. I don’t know if I’ll include him in this

story or not. I will build into a relationship because I hate it when people just make Harry and Draco jump into a

relationship when they aren’t even friends yet. But don’t worry my friend because it will come. Also, I sincerely hope I don’t

get writers block anymore, but part of me is tempted to so I can see the ridiculous things you’d say to get me writing again.

But I won’t I think. Your reviews make me laugh. Thank you

On to the fic.

Chapter 14: With Friday’s French fries on top. Yumm.

XD

Gentle shaking slowly brought Harry out of his slumber. He tried to bat the hands away but he was unsuccessful. This time, the

shaking was accompanied by a smooth, amused voice.

“Harry, you need to wake up now.” Harry burrowed his head deeper into the couch.

“Five more minitz Ron, g’way.” The shaking stopped and the intruder on his dreams retreated.

“Okay Harry, you can have five more minutes if you want to be late for potions.”

“Hmmm ‘k. Wait oh shit potions!” Harry shot up from the couch and dashed upstairs to retrieve his potions text. When he came

downstairs, he ran out of the common room with a chuckling Kurama hot on his heels.

“It isn’t that funny you know.” Harry said, glaring at him. Kurama dropped his hand and continued his laughter silently. They

arrived in the dungeons classroom with moments to spare, sitting in the only available seats. Right in front of the classroom.

Snape entered the classroom, black robes billowing behind him. He flicked his wand and the instructions for the Blood

Replenishing Potion appeared on the board. Snape was in a worse mood than usual, glaring at Harry with more malice than he ever

had before.

“Begin, I want you dunderheads to have this finished by the end of class.” He sat at his desk and began to mutilate the first

years’ essays with red ink. Harry, although slightly distracted, began his potion. Draco was the one that occupied his

thoughts today. Harry found it strange that Draco hadn’t objected to training with him. He had been sure that a derisive remark

would have been the first thing out of his mouth. Oh well, Harry wouldn’t question it, he would just hope that Draco didn’t

hate him anymore. Harry sighed and dumped another ingredient in the potion.

“Mr. Potter. What color is the potion supposed to be?” Harry looked at the board and then at his cauldron. His potion was sky

blue and it was supposed to be pastel blue.

“Thirty points from Gryffindor Potter. You added too much shredded spinach.” Harry sulked. Sheez. The stupid potion was only a

shade off. Better than he usually did anyway. The bell rang and Harry cleaned up and left, heading for the Room of

Requirement. Draco watched Harry leave as he packed up his supplies slowly, waiting for everyone else to leave. He walked to

Professor Snape’s desk and interrupted the furious scribbling Snape was inflicting on the hapless essays. Snape looked up and

glowered at him.

“What do you want Draco? I’m busy if you hadn’t noticed.” Draco crossed his arms and looked at him petulantly.

“What crawled up your arse and died Sev? You know perfectly well that Harry’s potion was fine, even if it wasn’t the exact

right shade.”

“Sirius Black is alive.”

“Yes, I know that. He’s Professor Touya’s assistant remember?”

“Clearly.” Draco sighed.

“It isn’t Harry’s fault that Black is alive. You should refund those points.”

“Will you go away and leave me the bloody hell alone if I do?” Draco nodded and smirked at the irate professor.

“Fine. Thirty points to Gryffindor. I wish you would get over your asinine infatuation with Potter so I can stop being fair to

him.” Draco shook his head in amazement. Really, his godfather was completely hopeless with his hatred of Harry. Draco left

him and went to the great hall for dinner. He entered the great hall and immediately noticed that no one was sitting in the

seats next to Hiei. Taking the seat to Hiei’s right, he began to fill his plate with steak and kidney pie. Hiei looked at him

curiously, playing with the food on his plate.

“Interesting. You seem to have an infatuation with Potter, don’t you?” Draco blushed and choked on the bite of mashed potatoes

he had just eaten. He coughed until his airway cleared.

“How the bloody hell do you know that?”

“Your body language. It’s quite obvious if you’d just pay attention.”

“How many people have you said this to?” Hiei snorted and rolled his eyes.

“Only to every idiot I know. Can’t hide feelings of that sort to save their lives. Look at the Gryffindor table.” Draco shifted

his eyes to the mentioned table, and lit on Harry talking animatedly to Suichi about something, and Suichi was laughing at

whatever he said. Across the table, Yusuke was glaring heatedly at Harry before looking at Suichi with a slightly softened

gaze. Draco turned back to Hiei.

“Yusuke and Suichi are in love with each other aren’t they?” Hiei smirked.

“And completely clueless about their feelings.” Draco laughed lightly and continued to eat. Shaking his head at the clueless

antics of Hiei’s friends made him feel better about how clueless he has been. After Hiei had finished his twelfth scoop of ice

cream, he and Draco retreated to the dungeons and the Slytherin common room. Draco looked at Hiei curiously as he jumped on

the mantle above the roaring fire.

“I keep meaning to ask you why you do that. I mean, last night you slept on the windowsill and now you’re on the mantle.”

“I like high places.”

“Really!? I never would have known.” Hiei ignored him and stared out the window into space, completely immersing himself in his

thoughts.

______________Just an Hour or so Earlier___________

Kurama walked out of the potions classroom, bag slung over his shoulder. He turned the corner and walked past a dark alcove,

pausing right at its edge.

“I know you’re there Black-san. You might as well come out.” Sirius walked out of the shadows, arms crossed and a stern look on

his usually jovial face.

“I take it you need to talk to me Mr. Black?”

“Follow me, Kurama. I know a place we can talk privately.”

“Lead the way.”
