Letting a Know-It-All Know it All (Updated for Continuity)
Chapter 15 ~ Letting a Know-It-All Know it All
Snape waited for Hermione to put on her traveling cloak, still a bit out of sorts about the erotic dream he had about the witch.
“It had to have been some residual Veela influence hanging about. I wouldn’t touch that witch with a fifty foot broomstick. She’s just as pushy and insufferable as ever,” he said to himself as Hermione appeared, tying her cloak around her neck.
“Are you ready, professor?” Hermione asked him, her brown eyes shifting slightly in the manner they normally did when she was trying to hide something.
Snape arched an eyebrow at her.
”Yes, I am . . . but first a question, Miss Granger,” he said to her, a naughty glint in his eye.
“What is it?” she asked him.
”I was wondering, you and Mr. Weasley are still close, are you not?” he asked her.
”Well, yes. Just because he's gay doesn't mean we can't be friends.” Hermione said. “I care about him and he cares about me.”
”I see,” Snape said. “Well, don’t you find it a bit . . . disturbing that he hasn’t come to inquire about you?”
Hermione frowned. She hadn’t really thought about Ron she was so busy thinking about Snape.
“Hm. Well, maybe he doesn’t know I’m here,” Hermione said. “You and Fleur just rescued me last night after all.”
Snape snorted.
”You are talking about Fleur Weasley, aren’t you?” he asked her pointedly.
Hermione thought about this. In the Weasley household, Fleur was known as “Fleur the Flapper” because she couldn’t ever keep a secret. Since Hermione staying with Snape wasn’t meant to be a secret, there was no doubt the entire family had to know.
“Hm. You’re right professor. I wonder where Ron is?” she said to the wizard who smirked.
“Considering what happened last night, he is probably at Malfoy Manor,” the dark wizard said obliquely.
”What? Draco’s house? What in the world would he be doing there? He hates Draco and the feeling’s mutual,” Hermione replied, although she hesitated just a bit making this statement, enough to let Snape know she wasn't being entirely truthful.
”You have at least one portion of that statement correct, Miss Granger,” Snape said to the witch, his belly tight with anticipation. “There are indeed mutual feelings between Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy . . .”
”What are you talking about?” Hermione demanded, angry at his piecemeal questions and responses. “If you know something . . . out with it!”
”Very well. Yesterday, before I rescued you, Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy had a bit of an altercation. Something about Draco taking advantage of Mr. Weasley’s sister.”
Hermione snorted. Knowing Ginny, it was more than likely Draco was the one getting taken advantage of.
”Go on,” she said, “did anyone get hurt?”
”Oh, there was a bit of blood involved.”
“How much blood?”
Snape smirked.
”Just enough for a Blood Bond to form between them,” he replied, bracing himself for the eruption.
“WHAT?” Hermione shrieked. “You’re lying! Blood Bonds can only form between men and women in love! You’re sick, professor, especially if this is your idea of a joke!”
”I don’t do ‘jokes’ Miss Granger, and I only lie if it is of some benefit to me. In this case, the truth is much more . . . entertaining. I’ve been researching the Bond lately and I assure you sex and love have nothing to do with it. All that is needed is the proper amount of Lust to tie the knot, so to speak,” Snape informed her.
Hermione stared at him.
”But . . . but if Ron and Draco bonded . . . then that would have to mean . . .” she began
“That most likely there is a bit of bareback riding going on,” Snape finished for her.
“Oh my gods!” Hermione said, her eyes wide. "I mean, I suspected Ron had a crush on Draco, but he would never admit it. Still, you would think he'd check in on me at least."
Hermione frowned up.
"Unless . . . unless he can't come see me. He doesn't know anything about Draco, and if he's anything like his sadistic father, poor Ron could be chained up in a dungeon someplace getting his nobblies pulled off with a pair of rusty pliers!" Hermione said, worriedly.
Snape didn't help a bit
"I have it on good authority that Draco is indeed a chip off the old broomstick when it comes to 'intimacy,'" Snape offered, egging Hermione's paranoia on.
"I'm not going to let that ferret-boy do anything to Ron! The hell with going to Diagon Alley, professor. I want to go to Malfoy Manor right now!" she exclaimed
Snape gave her a small bow, absolutely delighted her Gryffindorish "savior" gene had come to the fore, though he doubted Ron needed saving. Still . . .
"As you wish. I am interested in observing their interactions firsthand," the wizard replied.
"There better not be any unsuitable 'interactions' going on," Hermione seethed, "or someone's going to lose an 'interactee.'"
Hermione stormed out the door, Snape fighting back a chuckle as he billowed behind her.
The Potions master hoped Weasley was at the manor and indeed in some compromising position with Draco. If he was, this was going to be the most interesting morning Snape had in years.

A/N: Draco and Ron JUST got tied into the story. Heh heh. Thanks all. ***
A/N/N: I had to adapt this passage to reflect that Hermione knows Ron is gay. ***
