TRYING TO REMEMBER

In a basement of a dilapidated house there were two people locked in chains, David Wilkinson and the Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour.

At the ministry Sirius, Kingsley, Charlie, Ron & Harry were meeting with the Minister regarding the escaped Death Eaters. Kingsley provided the address from an anonymous reliable source, David Wilkinson. The five then apparated to the address.


At Grimmauld Place Remus making some tea.

“Would you like some tea, Nymphadora?”

“Tonks, please.”

“A husband can’t call his wife by her real name.”

“You know I don’t like it.”

Remus looked at her with darts in his eyes. “Seems I forgot.”

“I’m sorry I’m just having a hard time to adjusting to you not having a memory.”

“And it’s real easy for me.”

“Remus please.”

“Remus please what? You show up and announce that we’re married. You never even visited me at St. Francis Hospital.”

“I’m sorry about that. I didn’t want to overload you.”

“So you decide to wait until after I’ve had one of the worse transformations of my life to spring it on me.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Why. It was like you had to have one over Sirius. He’s been nothing but loving, kind and there for me. Why would you want to hurt him?”

“He took you away from me.”

“You never had me. That night Sirius falling through the veil wasn’t the only memory I had. I remembered how you left me leaving me only a note. I also remembered how I felt when Lily lost my baby. I was never going to let that happen to any one else. I went to the ministry and became sterile. It’s in my file. So the baby can’t be mine. It’s a secret as far as I can remember that I never told Sirius. The marriage can and should be annulled based on what people have told me. Sirius wasn’t a real threat to you until the war was over, that was seven months ago, you left me three months ago. I was in the hospital for three months that left a month. I probably needed a week to recover. This leaves three weeks. Two weeks wait on the marriage license. That left one week in which we got married and I’m thinking since no one knew you either obliterated my memory or got me extremely drunk. If that was the case I probably couldn’t get it up. We never consummated the marriage. Did we? We had sex before the marriage and that’s why you thought you could be pregnant with my child. Even if we did consummate it, I was coerced. Let’s get the annulment so you and Charlie can get married and have your beautiful baby. And Sirius and I can live happily ever after.”

“There really is no chance for us?”

“No. I don’t remember being in love with Sirius, but I know I love him now.”

Tonks got up to give Remus a hug when she knocked over her pocketbook spilling the contents. He noticed a picture of Harry and Sirius waving to the camera.

“What are these?”

“Molly gave me those to look at from Sirius welcome back party. I haven’t even seen them yet.”

Remus was going through the pictures and then stopped and stared at three pictures. Instantly Tonks knew what the subject of the pictures were.

“Remus? It didn’t mean anything he was hurt and confused. You’re the only one he loves.”

Something took Remus out his trance.

“Someone’s at the door.”

“Remus go upstairs to Harry’s room there’s a silver cloak in his trunk. Cover yourself with it and hide.”


Meanwhile the five arrived at the house.

“Something’s not right,” said Sirius. He turned into Padfoot and smelled around the house. Then turned back.

“There’s an anti apparition ward set up, along with an accelerant. It’s a trap.”

“Well let’s get out of here.”

“We can’t, I heard voices in the basement.”

“Can it get any worse?”

“Well at least Remus didn’t set up the wards so we should be able to take them down pretty easily. Get the people in the basement and apparate before it explodes.”

“Sounds simple.”


At Grimmauld Place Remus found the cloak put it on and hid in Harry’s closet. Meanwhile Tonks was downstairs waiting for whomever to show their faces. She hid in a place that she hoped that she could easily ambush them as they walked by. It was Lucius Malfoy that walked by and she screamed “Stupefy.”

She turned around and there were three other deatheaters. Bellatrix and Rudolphus LeStrange and the third made her turn white as a ghost.

“Crucio”, yelled Bellatrix. “Sorry dear niece, well not really.”

The third death eater drank something and turned into Sirius.

“Where is he?” asked Rudolphus.

“I don’t know.”

“Crucio.”

“Kill her,” said the third one.

“Avada” and all of the sudden her wand was out of Bellatrix’s hand.

This gave Tonks time to apparate into another room. Though they could see no one they heard footsteps on the stairs they ran up but it had stopped. Remus climbed back in his hiding place and noticed that the wall was false. He got behind the wall and saw that it was hooked up to a network of secret passageways. He found a corner and hid under the cloak.

Tonks was in the library when she and Rudolphus came behind her and shouted, “Petrificus Totalus”.

Tonks stiffened and went down.

“Remus,” called Bellatrix in a sing song voice.

The Sirius look alike turned to Bellatrix and whispered.

“Pretend that I caught you.”

“Sirius, “No.”

“Stupefy”

There was not much force behind the spell Bellatrix went down but definitely not out. When Rudolphus walked in he saw his wife down and Sirius went put his finger to his lips, “Expelliarmus.”

From his hiding place Remus saw the whole thing, unfortunately for the deatheater including where he put his finger to his lips and the whisper to Bellatrix. Which meant one of three things, it wasn’t really Sirius, he was being forced or he was with them. He hated any option. Bellatrix slowly got up and showed Rudolphus and Sirius a false wall and they were in the walls with Remus.


Back at the house Sirius got all the layers of wards down. Actually it was too simple, which only meant trouble. Charlie stood guard as Sirius, Harry, Kingsley and Ron quietly went into the house. They found the door to the basement. Sirius was shocked to see the Minister and his former lover chained to the wall.

“David?”

“You know me? Kingsley is that you? I haven’t seen you since school.”

Sirius and Shacklebolt at that point made the realization that this was a diversion.

As soon as they got the chains off the prisoners the house exploded.


“Remus luv where are you? It’s safe now. Lupin I’m sick of playing these games. Come out and die like a man. No? You may have Potter’s invisibility cloak but I can read your mind, and you’re scared. You like my disguise? He was really a great fuck. Not as good as you but I never really got to fuck you. You only got to fuck me before Black ruined it all. Sending me to that place only to reveal your true monstrous secret. Oh that’s right you can’t remember. I can see your mind swirling trying to remember the incident. I would say ask Black but he’s dead now and this time you won’t be around to bring him back. Before I kill you let’s have a fuck for old time’s sake. I’ll even stay as Sirius if that will make you feel better.”

Remus felt the cloak come off.

“Found you.”

“Bella, Rudy tell Lucius I found the werewolf. I want some alone time if you know what I mean.”

Remus was shaking. It had been an hour and the polyjuice potion was wearing off. It was Severus Snape. Severus waved his wand and there was a loud bang and Remus was tied up.

“Has Sirius ever done this to you? Tied you up?”

Snape dragged Remus to the bedroom he was going to share with Sirius and threw him on the bed.


At the house the explosion threw Charlie at least fifteen feet.

“Ron!!”

Down the lane four people apparated Kingsley with Rufus and Sirius and David.

“Where’s Harry and Ron?”

The two came circling around the burning house. Charlie ran up to his brother and gave him a hug, while Harry ran up to Sirius and was shocked at the sight.

“What’s he doing here?”

“Good question. David?”

“What month is it?”

“January.”

“I was taken from my apartment in September.”

“Who?”

“A guy from your year. Long greasy hair, big crooked nose.”

“It was Severus Snape,” interjected the minister.

“But he’s dead.”

“I thought so too.”

“He’s after the werewolf going to take what’s his and then kill him.”

“The werewolf has a name. Kingsley can you and Ron take care of these two.”

“Charlie, Harry I think Remus and Tonks might be in trouble.”


Severus dispelled Remus of all clothing. “You’ve developed nicely since our youth.” Severus tried to kiss him on the lips but Remus shook his head furiously. Then Snape pressed down on the scars on his chest in which he screamed from the pain.

“Fenrir did nice work I’m surprised the stupid oaf remembered the spell. Leave Black and come be with me and I’ll give you the counter spell.”

“Never.”

“If I don’t kill you today you’ll never make it past the year. I know I created the spell.”

“At least I’ll die happy with Sirius.”

“Sirius has done nothing but hurt you. In school he mocked you when you said ‘I love you’, told you to stop being a girl. Then he tried to kill us when he found you fucking me, well you thought it was Sirius but he didn’t care. When you two swore that Lily and James were off limits after that debacle of a pregnancy he started fucking James again when he thought you were the spy. And lastly you bring him back again and he starts and affair with me as David Wilkinson. I can understand why you all think he’s a good fuck because he is. But Remus no where near as good as you. I’ll never hurt you like that. Maybe like this.”

Snape shoved his dick inside of Remus’ opening unlubricated and forceful and Remus screamed from the pain. Snape started moving in and out of him and Remus was in obvious pain. Snape came after about twenty very painful thrusts. Snape got dressed, but left Remus there with blood coming out of his ass.

“Sectumsempra.”

A gash was appeared on Remus face.

“I’ll give you five more seconds. You were nice and tight no wonder Black likes you.” Snape punched Remus in the chest and he screamed.

Downstairs Harry, Charlie and Sirius just got in. Charlie saw Tonks on the floor and ran to her. There was a blood curdling scream and Sirius took off upstairs. Severus was about to apply the killing curse when he heard footstep running up the stairs. He took Harry’s invisibility cloak and ran right past Harry and Sirius.

Sirius ran into his room and found his lover tied up to the bed as Severus left him. He noticed the gash on his face and blood on the sheets coming from his chest and his butt.
Sirius untied his lover and held him in his arms.

“Harry, get Pomfrey over here.”

Charlie came upstairs. “How is he?”

“We’ll see. How’s Tonks?”

“I’m making her some tea. She’s a bit shaken but I think she’s okay. I want Poppy to make sure that the baby’s okay. Bella performed the cruciatus curse on her.

“I hope everything’s okay.” Sirius turned to Remus who was still shaking from the ordeal. “Can you tell me what happened?”

“Tonks and I were talking when we heard someone at the door she told me to get Harry’s invisibility cloak and hide. I started to then I hard things going on so I went downstairs and the woman was about to say a spell all she got out was ‘Avada, ‘ and I hit her with a silent ‘Expelliamus’ Tonks got away. I hid in a network of secret rooms. He tried to lure me out looking like you and pretending to hurt the woman and the other man. But I picked up on the hints. He finally found me He tied me up took me down here and stripped me. He told me he invented the curse that Greyback gave me and if I left you and went with him he’d give me the counter curse.”

“There’s a cure?”

“You knew that I could die and you didn’t tell me?”

“I found out before I left. I was going to tell you when we got back.”

“He told me other things too, like you told me to stop acting like a girl when I told you that I loved you for the first time. You tried to kill us when you found out we had sex even though I thought it was you. After Lily’s miscarriage we promised not to get in James and Lily’s life anymore, and when you suspected me of being a spy you started sleeping with him again. And days after I brought you back you took another lover. Tell me these things aren’t true.”

“I wish I could. The only one that isn’t true is that I started to sleep with James when I thought you were a spy. The rest is true.”

“Please leave me.”

“Remus please I was young and stupid and you forgave me.”

“Even for David?”

“No. I actually hadn’t apologized yet. It’s complicated and when I finally got my head straightened out you were in your accident. Please forgive me, babe.”

“Just go and leave me alone.”

“We’re not done with this yet.”

Poppy was climbing the stairs as Sirius was coming down. “Third door on the right.”

Sirius went in the kitchen where Harry was sitting. ”Can you go up in a few minutes and see how he’s doing?”

“Why can’t you?”

“It seems Snivellus told Remus the worse things of our relationship, including David. The strange thing most of it was just between me and Remus. No one else knew.”

In a guarded room hundreds of miles away sat a stone bowl on a pedestal filled with memories.
