Chapter 15

-

Shawn was downstairs, busily cooking breakfast for them. He loved cooking and creating new dishes- it was almost as good as wrestling, which was very hard to top for Shawn Michaels. He was fixing his specialty- Texas omelets with toast and fruit.

Last night with Lucius was something... different. The way the blonde touched him was if he was touching some one for the very first time- and in essence, it was. Lucius claimed he had never made love to some one- well last night he had. And Shawn was damn proud of the teaching he had done.

Once everything was done, he left the kitchen to call up the stairs. \"Lucius! Breakfast!\"

He heard some grumbling coming from the bedroom, and smirked to himself. For all the time his guest had been here, Lucius never turned down the chance for food, no matter how exhausted he happened to be. He went back to the kitchen to get some orange juice ready.

-

I stumbled into the bathroom to see the damage that had been done last night. My hair was a foul heap of tangled hair, and the bags beneath my eyes were heavy and deep. No matter what Shawn attempted to show me, I never slept after sex- I suppose that won\'t ever change.

I also suppose being extremely headstrong and foolish will never change either. I know last night I did something incredibly stupid. I used magic to trounce that damn muggle. If Voldemort is looking for me, he could trace my minor magic use and I\'ll be done for. Hopefully no one was paying attention to such a small spell. I guess I\'d be dead by now if they had sensed me.

I washed my face with water before going downstairs. \"Ah- It smells very good, Shawn.\" Normally food is prepared magically, but when he does it... it takes better than anything I\'ve ever had. I grabbed a seat at the table, grabbing silverware to dig in.

\"I know- because I made it.\" He grinned. \"I have to go grocery shopping in town today. Did you want to come with me?\"

The last time he went shopping, he took that Hunter with him. Now it\'s my turn. \"Yes I would.\" I remind myself that I\'m only doing this absolutely mundane muggle ability to give Hunter no reason to gloat.

\"Great- we can pick out dinner while we\'re there.\"

\"Can we have steak with that sauce you made? I loved that the last time you made it.\"

He smiled and nodded, finishing up his eggs. \"Sure, I just need charcoal. Remind me to get that while we\'re out. Oh, and a pair of boots for you. You said you wanted a pair- remember?\"

\"I did say that, didn\'t I?\" I always preferred boots to anything else. I must say I like Shawn\'s cowboy ones but I don\'t think I\'ll be taking the American plunge anytime soon. I haven\'t been thinking about my lifestyle at home much- just Draco. I like riding horses at twilight with Shawn, cooking out on the grill, and watching him do his foolish sport on the telly. \"Shawn- I\'ve got to tell you something. I like you.\"

\"I... gathered that, Lucius. But thank you for telling me.\" He grabbed my hand and squeezed it, smiling beautifully at me.

I want to tell him more, but I don\'t have the words. I\'ve never experienced the kind of feeling that I have when I\'m with Shawn, and it\'s so good that I\'d die to have it, and fight to keep it. \"You\'re welcome.\"

\"You want to get dressed so we can head out?\"

Ah yes, Shawn\'s showered, dressed, and all set to go. Damn him and his morning person attitude. \"I suppose I should.\"

-

I never got the chance to ride in Shawn\'s open topped vehicle, but that didn\'t stop me from listening to his advice. He told me to braid my hair.

I\'m very glad I listened.

\"Look! That sign said 50 MPH! Are you going that?!\" I shouted clinging to the door.

He rolled his eyes at me and nodded. \"Yes Grandma, I\'m going 50. Haven\'t you ever been in car before?\"

\"Of course I have!\" I lied through my teeth.

\"So, I\'ve got to know- Why do you carry that cane with you? The only time you haven\'t taken it is when we ride.... and last night. I don\'t even remember that thing being in my closet like you said it was.\"

\"Yes, well... About that Shawn...\"

\"Oh hold on- Look at those clouds!\" He suddenly exclaimed pulling off to the side of the road to park. Black clouds covered one small section of the horizon far away in the distance.

\"What does it mean?\" I asked shielding my eyes from the blinding sun. I had never seen such amazing storms before coming to Texas- I had heard of tornados, but I\'ve still never seen one.

\"I don\'t know... But it looks pretty bad for where ever it\'s hitting. I don\'t think hit San Antonio, however that doesn\'t mean we shouldn\'t take caution. No lingering.\"

I nodded and he started driving off again. It wasn\'t long before we were in the city, outside of a large building. He parked, and we got out.

\"So this is where you buy food?\" I asked eyeing the gray exterior and large windows.

\"Yep! Pretty boring, huh?\"

\"I suppose.\" I had never done it, so I really can\'t say. He took my hand as we walked, the sun beating down on us from above. \"But I like it so far.\"

-

It wasn\'t as bad as I thought. I liked picking out things I was going to like eating- Then again, I\'d eat anything he\'d make for me. \"Oh- The charcoal. Can\'t forget about that.\"

\"Oh yeah! I woulda forgotten. That\'s at the front of the store in the alcove...\" He explained as we walked up to beginning. \"Look at those weird clouds- they\'ve come closer. And they\'re so green!\" He remarked leaving the cart with me. \"Just watch the cart and I\'ll go grab a bag.\"

\"Shawn, wait!\" I called. I know those clouds now that I can see them- \"They\'re not from a storm!\" I ran after him grabbing his arm before he could get any further.

A powerful explosion rocked the front of the store, breaking the glass and sending us flying back in a hail of broken shards.
