Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
I never expected this
I own not the Harry Potter universe and Absinthe can not be owned by anyone for she is a living soul I only helped to give birth to.

Chapter 13 I never expected this
\'This girl is more trouble than her mother.\' Snape had no idea where she had gone. She seemed to leave no trace and was amazingly quiet. He stopped, winded by all the running. He heard voices, her voice, shouting, he turned left and began running again. Soon he came to a clearing, across from him he could see Hagrid and Dumbledore. In the center of the clearing were two Unicorns. One dying on the ground and one at the others feet who seemed to be mourning it\'s passing. In front of them was Absinthe arms spread to protect them. In front of her was a demon, clothed in black, fangs dripping with silver unicorn blood. The deatheater mark was burning slightly. \'No it can\'t be him!\' Snape felt reality began to slip away. \'Hold yourself together man! You have to stay focused for the girl.\'
Both sideline parties began to advance only to be stopped by some invisible force. They weren\'t sure who was doing it, the creature or Absinthe, but someone wasn\'t letting anyone in or out.
Harry was in his new bedroom terrified. He had been dreaming of how great life was going to be not living with the Dursley\'s when a frantic feeling overtook him and his dream. Suddenly he was in the middle of a forest, unable to move. Someone needed him! He had no idea how to help, or what to do. He willed himself to move convinced that he needed to fight. That somehow if he fought this dream, he would be helping.
Absinthe was furious. She had never believed her mom when she would talk about this place. She figured her mom made it up to keep her quiet. But here she was in the middle of a full blown mythological battle. Unicorns behind her, a demon in front of her, wizards on either side, the big guy from the alley that looked like a giant, plus she could see other creatures in the forest watching the spectacle. The sight of the demon killing the most innocent and beautiful of creatures drove her over the edge. She attacked the creature with every emotion she had bottled up for the past three days. She wasn\'t quite sure how she attacked him however. She never physically touched him, something inside her told her that was a bad idea. None-the-less he had recoiled, actually he had been thrown back into the invisible wall Absinthe created.
He wanted to get at the Unicorns again, he needed the blood. There was no way she was going to let him have it. She refused to let something so pure be killed. She had no idea what she had done before but she was sure she d dod do it again. Then it happened, she felt someone with her, almost holding her hand, telling her to fight. She let all of her emotions rage then released it on the creature. It was thrown backwards again and pinned to the wall.
The wizards watched helplessly as the demon began weaving right and left trying to attack Absinthe and get at the Unicorns. They saw Absinthe\'s expression change. She seemed almost peaceful for a second then it happened. An invisible force came from her body out of her hands sending streamers through the air. The force continued to stream out of her and pinned the crea aga against the invisible wall. Hanging in mid-air and screaming in fury and pain the creature was helpless. Then as if breaking through a window it was thrown back further into the forest. The walls fell as if made of cloth and sent iridescent soft ripples through the air down to the ground.
Absinthe turned to the unicorns. Standing above her dying mate the female nuzzled Absinthe\'s neck. Absinthe sat down on the ground beside the male. She laid her head in his soft mane and began to cry. The tears ran into the wound still leaking silver blood and immediately began to heal. She had laid and cried for what seemed an eternity when she heard a soft whinny. She felt movement under her and moved to allow the animal to stand up. She looked up into his soulful eyes, he was so pure and she could feel his emotions. He bowed his head down and nuzzled against her aing ing Absinthe to wrap her arms around his neck. He pulled her up to standing and walked Absinthe over to Snape. He bowed knowing that to be approached by a Unicorn was of the highest honor. The Unicorn gave Absinthe to Snape with a look that said \'take care of her.\' Again Snape bowed his head. He bent over and picked up Absinthe cradling her in his arms. She looked up into his face,
\'he is always here to carry me\' \"my dark angel\", she said quietly and then fell asleep.
The three men sat in Hagrids hut. Absinthe was asleep on his bed. Snape and Dumbledore were trying their best to choke down the tea and rock cakes.
\"Do you think you could explain what\'s going on?\" Snape stared accusingly at Dumbledore.
\"I was going to ask you the same question?\" Dumbledore has a smirk on his face that suggested he had suspicions.
\"I have no idea what you are referring to. All I know is you ask me to go find this girl, only to end up chasing her through the forbidden forest in the middle of the night. This is not what I signed up for when I became a teacher.\"
\"Consider it a perk.\"
Snape growled to himself and glared at Albus.
\"Well, I want to know who the girl is.\" Hagrid looked from one to the other.
\"It\'s a long story that isn\'t very happy.\" Albus frowned and looked at the girl who was so small and seemingly helpless. She was obviously as special as the famous Harry Potter, but no one even knew she existed.
