Snape Manor
Eight year old Lucas was bored. He wasn't allowed to do any magic for the next week. Grounded his Father had stated. All because he made his friend Draco fly around the room. So what if said friend wasn't on a broom. He wasn't even allowed at Hogwarts. That was the most tragic thing for him.
Lucas wanted to do something. Anything, but alas his parents weren't at the Manor. They had some party to go to. And since he was grounded they had refused letting him go as well. So this left him alone with the Nanny. Oh Nanny, where are you? Lucas thought as he wandered the first floor of the Manor.
Candice Strokes, the 25 year old Nanny was hiding in the Library. She wasn't about to be on the receiving end of Lucas. At first she was ecstatic to be watching the boy. I mean free room and bored as well as excellant pay. But Lucas was a little demon. Just yesterday he decided that her room needed a makeover and when she went to bed last night. The walls were dripping with red paint that looked like blood. And what was worse her bed had been used for a snakes den. There was aleast twenty of the nasty things there. Her furniture was hanging from the ceiling.
"Oh Nanny, where are you?" came Lucas's voice singing as he moved past the Library in his Levi chair.
Candice shivered at the singing voice of her charge. If I didn't need the money. I would leave this place. She thought as she opened the door with caution. Noticing that the little demon wasn't near her. She slipped out of the room toward the kitchen.

Lord and Lady Snape were dancing at the Ministry Banquet when Lord Snape seemed to freeze in mid step. "Sev. what's wrong?" Lilly asked as she looked at her husband. Following his gaze she too froze. There standing at the enterance was James and Katrina Potter.
It had been years since they had seen each other. And now they would have to be polite. Lilly wasn't sure that her husband or herself for that matter would be able to manage that. Even after all these years they still felt the sting of being seperated for so long.
"Ignore them Sev. I'm sure they will us." Lilly whispered into his ear.
"Don't be so sure about that my love." hissed Severus as he saw Potter headed their way.
James Potter couldn't believe it. There was his ex with his enemy. Oh he knew they were married. But that didn't stop him from waiting to punch the shit out of Snape. Even though he couldn't prove it. He knew that man had something to do with his declined status in the Wizarding World.
"No Husband. Leave them alone." snapped Katrina Potter as she dug her nails into his arm. Causing him to wince.
"Don't tell me what to do, Kat. Don't forget who provides for you and our children." hissed James as he removed her nails from his arm. Before making a bee line for Lord and Lady Snape.
When he was about to reach them, he noticed Snivillus(Severus) pull Lilly behind him.
"Well look what decided to come out of hiding." snarled James as he tried to get around Snape to no avail.
"Hiding? My Lady and I have never been in hiding. Unlike yourself Potter." smirked Severus as he felt Lilly behind him begin to shake. She never did get over the way Potter treated her He thought as he stared down Potter with malice.
"So where's the bastard son of your's Snivillus?"
Severus could take many things from Potter's mouth. But he refused to let the man say anything about his son. And before anyone knew what happen. James Potter was bound to the wall. "Never speak of my son in that fashion again Potter. If you do, then I hope you have your will ready." Severus snarled coldly, before he led his wife out of the room and to the point he could safely aspirate them home.
"I warned you James. Not to mess with Severus." Albus Dumbledore stated coldly as he released the man from the wall.
"Why do you care so much? It's not like he's brat is going to amount to anything. Jaime is the-boy-who-lived. Not Lucas." James replied with venom. Not even waiting a response he went to his new wife and began to dance.
"You're wrong James it's Lucas that will amount to more than even you know." whispered Albus as he to exited the Banquet, heading back to Hogwarts.

When Severus and Lilly entered the Manor. There was one word for it Chaos. The house-elves were popping in and out trying to clean the mess that was made in the Entry Hall. While they noticed the Nanny slumped over the chair by the Parlor.
"Candice, what happened?" Lilly asked softly trying not to startle the woman.
Candice snapped awake with eyes of terror. She blinked when she noticed the Lord and Lady of the Manor had returned. "Thank goodness you're back. I'm giving my month's notice Lady Snape. I can't do this anymore. That son of yours is a demon in wizards robes." She stated firmly as she made her way toward the stairs and out of sight.
"Severus?" whispered Lilly as she looked at her husband. Only to wince at the stone mask of her husband.
"That's the third one in a year. A year Lilly. Why does he keep running them off?" hissed Severus as he looked at the disaster of the Entry Hall again.
"I don't know Sev. Maybe we need to send him somewhere? He won't listen to us. You've grounded him, spanked him, taking away more privileges than even I can count. And still he does this." Lilly responded with exsasperation.
Severus didn't respond, he just walked her up the stairs to their room. He didn't think he could deal with Lucas tonight. He was drained, for Potter and now his son. He wasn't going to deal with this anymore. He didn't care what Albus had to say. Lucas was going to Atrum Vita Academy by the end of summer. Maybe they could do something with him. At least one could hope. He thought as he climbed into bed with his wife.

Lucas was in shock. He couldn't believe he'd gotten away with that. But it was already after midnight and neither of his parent's had come in to punish him. I guess I'll just get some sleep. Little did Lucas know that by the end of August he'd be sent to a school that held many different species.

It was August 2nd and the day that Nanny Candice was leaving. Lucas watched from the shadows as she left without a word to his parents. He didn't understand why they didn't spank him for running this one off. His Father had began to close himself off from him. And his Mother, well he'd find her crying when he'd walk into a room. He decided to go see if his Father would allow him over at Hogwarts to be with Grandpa Albus. But when he walked to the study, he realised the door was ajar. He stayed quite as he listened.

Study
"I'm sorry Albus, my mind is made up. Lucas is already enrolled at Atrum Vita for the next seven years." Severus snarled as he ran his fingers through his hair in aggrevation.
Albus couldn't believe it. He had tried everything to keep Lucas in arms reach. And now Severus had all but shattered his plans. Plans to keep the second part of the Prophecy from coming to light. "What does Lilly say? She knows the prophecy just as you do."
"She knows and agree's Albus. We're his parent's and our word is law. He'll go to Hogwarts at sixteen. Not before and then you can train him. We know your training him for his destiny as your replacement as Lord of Light. But I'm sorry, he's going with or without your consent."
"Severus please, reconsider don't take him from me? Please Severus, your like a son to me. Don't take my grandson from me." Albus pleaded with him as tears started down his face.
"I'm sorry Albus, my decision is final." Severus stated with authority as he walked out of the room. Only to find Lucas sitting by the door with begging eyes filled with tears. Severus shook his head 'no' and walked away.

"Grandpa!" wailed Lucas as he ran into the study wrapping his arms around Albus the best he could. "Don't let them send me away. Please I'll be good. I'll be the best. Please."
Albus said nothing just gathered Lucas in his arms and rocked him to sleep. He just hoped that Lucas would return to him undamaged. Why Severus would you send him to that school. You could have just given him to me. He thought as he continued to rock his grandson in a daze.

The rest of August flew by. Lucas and Albus begged and pleaded not to send him to that school. He was only nine for Merlin sake. All children did mischief so the two had told them. But to no avail. His parents wouldn't change their minds. So it was now August 31 and Lucas was standing on the platform by the train that would send him away from everyone and everything that he loved. When the train horn blew, he boarded the train. He didn't even look back. As far as he was concerned he was one his own.
What Severus and Lilly didn't know was this would be the last time they would see their son. Until he returned at the age of sixteen. And when Lucas did return they would find out they had made one tremendous mistake.
