Epilogue Two: Narcissa, Tom and Harry
Seven Years Later
Tom Riddle stood holding the hand of his son as he waited for the tower door to open. He was nervous; something he had never felt before this day. He had been extremely lucky; he had been given a second chance by the king, and he and Harry had lived at the palace for the last several years. Not a day went by when he didn’t think of Narcissa. They had both been responsible for the crimes of which she had been sentenced for, and it made him sick to his stomach that she had take blame for it, on her shoulders alone.
He had missed her something terrible; the visits were just not enough. Although she looked nothing like she used to, he still could see the person he had known deep inside her. He saw her every day when he looked at his son. Harry had the same piercing green eyes as his father but the face of his mother. He was eager to see his love, and make up for all she had suffered. He at least owed her that, she had sacrificed seven years of her life for him and their son
He smiled at the queen as she arrived to great her sister, and at the king, as he prepared to lift the enchantment that would restore her to her former glory. If Merlin was his witness, he would never ever harm another living soul again. He needed Narcissa to understand this. He loved his son dearly, Harry was the reason he didn’t give up.
He felt a small tug on his hand, and looked down into the eyes of his boy.
“When is mummy coming out?” he asked and Tom laughed.
“You have no patience Harry, she’ll be out very soon,”
“I want to see her, I’ve missed her,” he said softly.
“I’m sure she’s missed you too, very much,” he said as he ruffled his sons hair.
“Do you think she’ll recognize me?” he asked and Tom nodded.
“Of course she does, she knows exactly what you look like,” he assured Harry.
“How does she?” he asked.
“Because you look exactly like her, except you have my eyes and hair,” he admitted.
“It’s time,” said Hermione, as she layed a hand on Tom’s shoulder.
The king waved his wand over the doorway to the cell, and it glowed brightly as the spell was lifted.
The door creaked on its hinges as it swung open, and Narcissa stepped out onto the stone bridge. Tom’s breath caught in his throat as Harry ran toward his mother, his arms wide.
Narcissa sobbed as she scooped her son up in her arms, her blonde hair blowing in the breeze. She cradled him to her chest as Harry clung to her. She looked at Tom and smiled, and Tom relaxed. Together they stood as a family, reunited after so long.
He would never be parted from them again.
THE END.
