I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter 13: Didn’t see that one coming.
Hello Everyone! Shiny-chan desu! I’ve had butterflies in my stomach just waiting for reviews since I posted my last chapter.
(Jeez I’m so friggen impatient) I plan to have fun in this chapter as well and explain some discrepancies? Maybe. I’m so
excited! I got a present the other day. It’s one of those Serta stuffed counting sheep and it’s so cute! It’s a baby with the
number of 1/16 on it! I named it Kaiba because of its pretty blue eyes. I don’t know if any of you have noticed yet, but I have
a weird obsession with eyes . . . and petting hair. OOOOOOOOOOk that’s beside my point. WHY DO I ALWAYS RAMBLE?! I think I
might abandon my fruits basket fic since I don’t have any reviews for it and I’m suffering writers block for that story. I must
respond to my loyal reviewers!
Bats: OOOH! *Pouts* I wanted it to be a major cliffie! *sniff* o well. When I read your review, I honestly jumped up and down
with joy. But about your guess, you couldn’t be farther off the mark! Jin will show up later in the story but not now. No my
mysterious new person is not Jin but you’ll find out soon who it is. I seriously do not mind long reviews at all. In fact, I
love them. So make your reviews as long as you want. About the other thing. . . I do have an explanation sort of. Well wait
and see!
Chapter 13: with a steaming bowl of peach cobbler a la mode
XD
When Harry hit the floor, Hermione and Ron rushed to his side to attempt to wake him. Yusuke looked at the guy in the doorway
and wondered what the hell the big deal was. The way he saw it, the guy wasn’t that tall, but he had long wavy black hair and
bright blue eyes. He wore a nice set of those sacks that wizards called robes, what was so weird about him that Harry just
haaaad to faint when he saw him? Hermione left Ron to continue trying to wake Harry and walked over to the mysterious man. She
touched him on the cheek and then pinched it, watching him wince.
“Are you really here? Everyone thought you had died!”
“I’m here and alive. When Bella the Bitch stunned me, I basically fell through a portal to the Demon Plane. I was rescued and
brought here by Professor Touya.” Hermione dragged him by the hand over to where Harry was slowly waking. Harry opened his
eyes and looked up at the people surrounding him. He smiled and grabbed the man’s hand.
“How can you be alive? I missed you Sirius!”
“I never died kiddo, although it was a near miss. I got transported to the demon plane. Relax; I’m no one to faint over. You’re
makin me blush!” Harry sat up and punched Sirius in the arm.
“Shut up Padfoot!” Touya tapped his foot impatiently, and cleared his throat amidst the muttering that Sirius’ arrival
instigated.
“I would like to introduce my assistant, Sirius Black.” The murmurs grew louder and included audible words like ‘murderer’
and ‘mum said he killed thirteen people’. Harry’s anger went up to the roof as he listened to the whispers and he stood and
glared at the gossipers.
“Sirius has been proven innocent in those murders! The true culprit was his supposed best friend Peter Pettigrew. He has
proven to be a valuable member of the order of the phoenix and has fought against Voldemort both times. How dare any of you who
have done nothing but cower badmouth him?” The murmurs quieted as the rumormongers dropped their heads in shame. Touya clapped
his hands to draw the class’ attention back on him. He wrote on the board underneath the list. ‘Homework- six inches on
research about demons-due next class.\'
“We are just about out of time thanks to our . . . interruption,” a glance a Sirius, who made an innocent face, “This is your
homework, due next class. You are dismissed.” Harry gathered his belongings and walked quickly out the classroom door, with Ron
and Hermione scurrying to catch up with him. Hermione caught up with him and caught his arm, which slightly annoyed Harry.
Merlin! Was it really too much to ask for a little solitude?
“Harry, are you really okay? It was such a big shock for you to see Sirius like that. I’m sure Hagrid wouldn’t mind you missing
his class just this once.” Merlin but he was sick of her patronizing attitude. However, she had just handed him a plausible
excuse to be left alone.
“Sure I think I’ll do that. I think I still feel a little dizzy,” Nevermind that he didn’t really feel dizzy, ”Oh, Hermione, do
you still have that book you found at the library about the demons?” Hermione narrowed her eyes.
“Why do you want to know, Harry?” Geez how was that any of her business?
“I thought I’d get started on Professor Touya’s homework while I was resting.” Hermione gave him a hug and took a book out of
her bag. Woo good boy Harry. You get a hug for a treat! Can you shake? Harry took the book and flipped it to view the title. It
really was an ordinary looking book, green with a black and silver binding. The title was raised and lettered in black with a
silver outline. It read: Demonic Legends of the Past and Present by Athena Cassia Black-Goyle. Huh. He’d have to ask Sirius
about her later, when he got over the shock of Sirius’ arrival. Wait just a minute.
“Hermione, you were telling me those things like they were fact. The title clearly says ‘Demonic Legends’ they can’t be real.”
“Harry, every book in the library depicts demons as legends. Since they really do exist, they are probably not legends after
all.”
“How would she know anything about demons? She can’t possibly have seen one.”
“If you would look at her author profile, you’d see she’s lived most of her life in Japan. She could very well have seen one or
more.” He was so close to just railing at her. He needed to leave. He placed the book in his bag and walked toward Gryffindor
tower, waving behind him as he walked. When he had entered the tower, he flipped to the back of the book and began to read the
author profile. Hermione had been right. Athena Cassia Black-Goyle had lived in Japan since she was twenty, over eighty years
ago. She had supposedly gotten the inspiration to write about the demons after a terrible nightmare. Harry snorted. Most likely
she had met a demon and then prayed it was a nightmare. Harry flipped through the glossary to find Youko Kurama. He turned to
the page and began to read the article.
‘One of the most fearsome and fantastic of daemons was the legendary Youko Kurama-King of Thieves. He was the leader of an
infamous band of robbers that plundered treasures from both the demon plane and the human realm. He and his second-in-command,
Kuronue, (see pg 214) pulled may of the most difficult heists by themselves. They were known as the Moonlight Snatchers as more
than three fourths of the heists they did together were under the light of a full moon. Youko Kurama was also known as Sensuous
Sex King Kurama. He was reported to have had over ten thousand lovers in his lifetime, including rumors that his partner
Kuronue was also his bed partner. The infamous fox demon’s kleptomaniac career went off without a hitch until Kuronue was
captured by a would-be victim of their plans. Kurama staged a rescue to save him, but he was caught in a bounty hunter’s trap
during the attempt, killing him instantly. Unfortunately, the rescue attempt failed and Kuronue died the very same night.’
Harry was absorbed in reading the tale and was unaware that the very person he was reading about, snuck behind him and read
over his shoulder.
“Were you curious about me, Harry?” Harry jumped, his heart beating wildly at the sudden voice from behind him. He turned
around, glaring balefully at the smirking kitsune, who didn’t look at all repentant.
“Jerk! You scared the piss out of me! Did you know about Sirius?” Kurama slowly shook his head.
“I knew that a wizard named Sirius Black had been rescued from the demon realm. I however, did not know he had any relation to
you. It’s a smaller world than we all think, is it not? Do you feel better now that you’ve had some time to rest?”
“I feel a little better, but it doesn’t change how shitty I feel inside. Sirius is my godfather, and the closest person to a
father I’ve ever had,” Harry ran his hand through his hair and began to sob, placing his head in his hands, “It was my fault
that I didn’t learn occlumency well enough to tell that Voldemort was sending me lies! I’m so lucky that Sirius didn’t really
die but he very well could have done! I don’t trust myself around him. What if I do the same thing again and he really dies!?”
Harry’s shoulders shook with the force of his sobs, and Kurama sat beside him on the couch. He began to rub Harry’s back in
slow, soothing circles. Before long, his tears had subsided and he fell asleep, right in Kurama’s lap.
