What happened to you?

After a few hours of throwing stones into the lake, Harry had relaxed enough to see people again, but they were far from happy to see him. As he walked back to the castle he noticed that all the ones he met was either ignoring him, standing as far away from him as the walls allowed them or whispering to the one they walked with; slowly his anger came back. By the time he reached the Gryffindor tower he was as angry as he had been down in the dungeon, but walking down to the lake again was not an option, he would probably hex someone on his way down if they kept ignoring him.

‘Hey Harry.’ Harry turned his head towards who was talking to him, surprised to see that it was Neville. He quickly noticed Ron and Hermione in a corner behind him, how come they weren’t the first ones to talk to him? Their lack of friendship pissed him off, if they would act like the rest of the stupid students that believed he was turning evil then they were not his friends anymore.

‘Hey Neville.’

‘Are you okay?’ Had Hermione or Ron told him to go and ask? Were they so afraid of their best friend that they sent Neville, the one that wasn’t as brave as them to ask how he was?

‘Yes, perfect.’ His tone on the other hand told another story, he was so angry at the way people was behaving that he didn’t think it would ever pass. Neville swallowed once, that poor boy, in times like this true friendship and courage would show itself. ‘And how about you?’ Neville quickly smiled; maybe he thought Harry would hex him.

‘Fine, a few problems with my next exam but I am working on them.’

‘I hope you do well on it. I must go up to the dorms, have a few things I need to take care off.’ He nodded a quick goodbye and received on back before he walked up to the dorms and closed the door behind him. Harry went over to his bed and kicked his trunk, how could people behave like this, and especially his friends. Quickly he laid himself on his bed before closing the curtains. He found his wand on the nightstand and locked the curtains so no one could bother him.

Harry was half a sleep when he heard someone call for him; he forgot about the silence charm, how could he be so stupid? The first thing he wanted to say was something rude, but it was Ginny’s voice he heard so he had to wake up. He hoped she would find him because going out to look for her was not something he wanted to do. As soon as he found his wand and unlocked the curtains Ginny jumped in quicker than he could shake the sleep out of his eyes

‘You promised to not go to bed before tonight.’

‘Is that the only reason for you disturbing me?’

‘No.’

‘Then what is it?’

‘You promised Harry, how can I help you if you go and hide at the first thing that happens? You don’t make my job easy.’

‘Your job? You don’t work.’

‘I’m a friend; that is a fulltime job, especially when you are one of them.’ That was probably one of the sweetest things anyone has said to him in a while.

‘But friends don’t go and tell others about their secrets.’ He wasn’t really angry at her for what she had done, at least he found out that Snape was a decent guy and would help him.

‘I’m sorry; I didn’t know what else to do. You wouldn’t wake up and after a few days I noticed that Malfoy hadn’t been at school for a while, I put two and two together. My problem then was how I could make you happy, and he is the only thing that can make you happy right now. It was Luna’s idea to ask Snape, she thought Snape might know something since his father can’t take him out from the school without telling him. I’m so sorry Harry, maybe the best was not to go to him.’ Harry was sure he could make her apologize every minute of every day, but he wasn’t that mean to those that tried to help him out.

‘Don’t worry, it all worked out, I was actually angry at Snape, not you.’

‘What did he do? I swear I’ll hex him if he did anything, even if I will get expelled.’ Harry couldn’t help laughing at her sudden reaction; he didn’t doubt that she would walk down and hex the potion master; but she didn’t need to do that for him, especially when Snape hadn’t done anything bad.

‘No, he was being quite the gentleman about Draco. What pissed me off was that I saw him smile before I closed the door, and I didn’t go back to ask what was so funny, so I’m not sure if it’s because of what happened to Draco’s father or because I was seeing Draco. It can be something else but I don’t know, I’ll ask him another time.’

‘I’ll go down and ask him now; I don’t want you to be angry because he is being an ass.’

‘Slow down Ginny, I think things might be getting better now, he promised to try and get Draco back to school.’

‘That is great news, maybe this time I can be introduced to your boyfriend.’ She put some pressure on the word boyfriend; Ginny knew well enough that they weren’t a couple, but she couldn’t help teasing him whenever she could. ‘Lets go to the room of requirements and have some fun; Luna will be joining us later.’ She turned around and jumped off the bed, Harry had no choice but following her.

As Ginny told Harry Luna joined them later that evening, and then they all had some fun in the room of requirements. They found a book that contained spells for party fun and tried them out.

They had so much fun that they forgot to look at the clock. They tried to head back to their dorms around midnight but they couldn’t stop laughing, they laughed so hard that they were afraid it would wake up the entire school. When they finally pulled themselves together and left the room without having another of their laughing attacks it was already to am, Luna went to the Ravenclaw tower while Ginny and Harry went over to the Gryffindor tower, giggling like a couple of teens. As soon as Harry changed into his pyjamas and closed his eyes beneath the blankets in his bed he fell asleep with a smile on his lips, this day started out horribly but ended with laughter.

--**¤**--

‘Harry, wake up.’ He clearly heard that it was Ginny talking to him; and he wondered if he had been sleeping to long again since he was brutally shaken, maybe another week has passed.

‘Stop shaking me, my head will fall off again.’ Ginny giggled, she was still not done with the previous night. In the book there was one spell that did so their heads would fall off.

‘Get up now; I have some news for you, great news.’ There wasn’t much that could be categorized as great news lately, so it had to be some extremely great news.

‘What?’

‘He’s back.’ Harry quickly opened his eyes to see if Ginny was just messing around with him, she was smiling but it was a real smile, not one of the ones that would change to laughter after seeing him all happy and excited. ‘I saw him come out of Dumbledore’s office after I was done with my breakfast.’

‘What time is it now?’

‘Soon twelve, I would have woke you up earlier but figured that you could need some sleep. Get up now, maybe a shower. I’ll find some clothes for you, now get up you lazy bum.’ He couldn’t do anything beside listen to her, not that he wanted to stay in bed if Draco was finally back.

‘How was he?’

‘Alive if you mean that, seem fine to me. Hurry now.' Harry couldn't help being amused by the way Ginny was pushing him to meet Draco, the way she was completely fine about his interest was better than just fine.

When Harry was done with his shower and was clean enough to be approved by Ginny he felt ill, at once he was ready to go he found himself unable to move, it was like his whole body stiffened up. Ginny thought it was a joke he was playing or just nerves so she wasn't happy with him and his acting. She quickly took one of his arms and was literally dragging him the first floor.

When they reached the library Ginny finally stopped. Harry wanted to ask her why when he saw a blond figure walking out from the library. Ginny let go of Harry and took one step back, letting the two of them have some time together to catch up on things.

Harry took one step forward, looking at Draco and hoping he would at least reply the smile he gave him. But the other boy was just standing there, sad or angry; it was quite difficult for Harry to tell what mood he was in. Harry opened his mouth, trying to think of something quickly to say; but before he could let a sound leap his lips Crabbe and Goyle came and placed themselves on either side of Draco, looking proudly over at Harry.

‘Have you punished him yet?’ They had to be one of the biggest whim bags off all time.

‘No, but he’ll get what he deserves later; I’ll make sure off it.’ Harry wasn’t sure how he should read Draco, was he angry at him or was it all just an act? ‘Let’s go guys, I have some important things I need to do, with Pansy.’ Both the baboons grinned at each other; what was that all about? Harry wanted to stop Draco from leaving and slap him, how could he behave like that? No, he had to stay calm, maybe it was all an act. Draco had to act like that so his friends, if you could call them that wouldn’t see that Harry and Draco was more than enemies. When they were completely gone from their view Ginny walked over to him again.

‘What was that all about, he could at least smile.’ Harry couldn’t get himself to say anything, he was still trying to understand what had happened; Draco was looking at him like he was something disgusting. As soon as they had a chance to be alone together Draco would show Harry how much he missed him; he was sure of it. ‘Harry, are you okay?’

‘I’m fine.’

‘I understand if your not, the way he ignored you made me sick.’ She took his arm again and leaded him away from the library. ‘Are you sure he likes you? Because the way he…’

‘I’m sure.’ It was true; Harry wouldn’t survive if it was all a lie. Even if Lucius Malfoy lied Harry was still sure Draco loved him, why else would he lie to his own father to save Harry? He did love Harry, it had to be true. Harry couldn’t think of anything else on their way down to the main hall, Ginny had switched the subject over to something about school, Harry almost didn’t hear her at all.

‘Stop thinking about it Harry, I am sure this will all be sorted out in the end; it’s not like he has turned straight after a week away from school.’ At once Ginny said that sentence Draco's words made sense, he had been talking about going and meeting Parkinson; he was talking about seeing her. Quickly he told himself that Draco hadn’t turned over to the other sex; it was all an act so they would think he was back to his old self.

After the first meeting between Draco and Harry, Ginny decided to try and make things up for him by taking him down to the lake to relax until Luna was done with her last exam. Harry didn’t say anything against being dragged all over school like he was a puppet, his thoughts was so far away that if Voldemort came back right now he wouldn’t see him.

‘Harry, you aren’t listening.’ He snapped out of his thoughts while they sat by the lake.

‘I am.’

‘Then what did I say?’

‘You were talking about school.’

‘That’s like twenty minutes ago; I have been quiet for the last tem minutes now.’

‘Sorry Ginny, I just can’t stop thinking about him.’

‘Do you love him so much?’ Harry nodded since he was sure he would cry if he opened his mouth, Draco’s actions really hurt his feelings. The way Draco behaved towards him was really nasty, how could he do that? Did he think that Harry Potter the saviour of the wizard world could not be hurt?

‘You have to find him and tell him what you feel. If he doesn’t feel the same then you have to find a way to not let him go; but if he does care about you then don’t stop before he’s yours.’ And how would she suggest that he could find Draco? If he found Draco then he would most likely be with the asses, then there would be no time alone with him to ask him. But he couldn’t give up this easily, where was his Gryffindor stupidity as Snape called it; he had to do stupid things to achieve a better future.

‘Thanks Ginny, and good luck with your guy.’ Ginny thought he hadn’t listened while she talked, but he heard every word she said, he only didn’t answer. She was smiling and waving at him while he was quickly walking up to his bedroom to find the map, he had forgotten about the map.

Back in his room he searched his trunk for it, he realized he had to get rid of some of the junk he still had, old pieces of parchment, broken quills, clothes that was way too big for him and other stupid things he collected over the years; but it had to wait till another time when he had time for that sort of thing, right now he had to find Draco.

After a minute of searching he found the map, folded inside one of his books, a boring book that Hermione almost wouldn’t read, maybe if she had read true the whole library and didn’t find anything else to read, maybe then.

At once the small footprints showed themselves Harry searched as quickly as he could. He told himself that searching to fast would not help him, he would then overlook the little tag besides the footprints where it stood Draco Malfoy on and then he would have to start all over again. He did slow down for a second, before he thought about how Draco was behaving towards him; he had to know what Draco felt about him, and quickly.

Not long after he noticed Draco’s name in the bathroom on the second floor, in Myrtle’s bathroom. Quickly he found his wand and headed for the second floor, hoping Draco wouldn’t leave before he got there.

As he reached the bathroom door he opened the map again to make sure Draco was still there, alone; luckily for him Draco hadn’t moved from the same spot he was sitting on earlier. Harry pushed open the door harder than he really needed to do, but he couldn’t restrain himself. Quickly he took a look at the map again; Draco was sitting in the third booth; so Harry walked slowly over to the door and lightly knocked on the door.

‘Open up, it’s me.’

‘Go away.’ Draco was crying; Harry could hear it by the way his voice ended.

‘Open the door.’

‘No!’

‘I won’t leave before you open the door.’ He waited for a few seconds and was ready to say something when he heard the door slowly unlocking.

‘What?’ Harry wanted to smile at the other boy but changed his mind when he saw him. Draco had been crying for a while and hard because his eyes were red, and so was his nose.

‘I…’ He wasn’t sure what he wanted to say, he hadn’t really thought this through.

‘What?! Tell me or leave me alone.’

‘What happened to you?’ Harry wanted to ask if he still loved him, but since Draco never said it himself then it would be better not to mention it.

‘What are you talking about, I’m fine.’

‘Your not.’

‘You can’t tell me how I am.’

‘Your look tells another story than you do, you have been crying.’

‘So, only because I’m a Malfoy and in Slytherin I’m not allowed to cry? Get out of my way.’ Draco was slowly pushing Harry so he could get out from the bathroom but Harry wouldn’t let him leave this easily. He grabbed Draco’s wrist and held him there, not letting go even when Draco was scratching his arm. He could see that Draco was getting frustrated and more violent when Harry wouldn’t release him. In the end he punched Harry so hard in his shoulder that Harry fell down on the floor, hitting his head into the wall behind him. The next thing Harry knew was that he was lifted up, but he couldn’t see who it was. The hit was so hard that he lost his vision for a minute and even forgot that he was in the bathroom with Draco.

‘Harry, I’m sorry; are you okay?’ Harry heard Draco, not clearly at first but as the seconds passed everything cleared up. ‘Is the baby okay?’ Harry heard that Draco was worried. ‘Are you okay Harry?’ If he hadn’t gotten all his senses back earlier then he might have thought it was all an illusion, but he was sure Draco asked about the baby.

‘How do you know that I’m still pregnant?’

‘I… I don’t believe in rumours.’ Harry wasn’t sure if he believed Draco, his earlier experience told him not to. ‘Since everything seems to be fine I’ll leave you. And stay away from me Harry.’ Draco left the bathroom quicker than Harry could get up from the floor. He knew Draco still loved him, he used his first name; Draco would never do that if he hated Harry.

Smilingly he went out to Ginny; she was still sitting by the lake, but now joined by Luna that was trying to see if she could stand on her arms while whistling.
