Ragnarok

Draco stood staring up at the ancient Italian villa, it was gorgeous, plantlife covered everything and it seemed like a magical fairyworld unto itself. He took a deep breathe and raised his wand, it glowed and an answering glow came from the entrance. The black metal gate opened before them silently and they walked in, looking around at all the exotic plants. A woman waited on the front patio for them, her dark brown hair pulled back in a simple bun. She wore a long brown robe with wide sleeves that covered her soft lightly tanned hands. She gave them a welcoming smile as they climbed the red brick steps up to her.

"Welcome friends, welcome to Tara Villa, my master will be arriving soon. You're a bit early but that's alright. Let me show you to the parlor," she opened the door for them and led them through the airy house towards a huge room with white couches and bouquets from the garden. They sat down and she offered to bring them something to drink before leaving.

"Lord Malfoy, it's a pleasure to finally meet you," a tall young man with curly dark red hair walked foward, holding out his hand to Draco.

"Lord Zabini, it definitely is," Draco said as he stood up to take the man's hand. "How is Blaise?"

"Good, good, he's in England still with the ministry. I was hoping he would come home for the coming holidays but he's so swamped there as you might have imagined," he answered. Blaise's parents had been killed in the war leaving his older brother head of the different estates, the largest being the one Draco and Hermione found themselves in. The Zabinis had acquired Ragnarok a few years ago and that brought them in direct contact with the struggle between Draco and his father. But Draco had the better tie to the Zabinis.

"I was hoping to borrow Ragnarok from you," Draco got down to business, the Zabini nodded, leading them to another room. In the center in a glass case was Ragnarok, it's shining blade looked gorgeous under the soft sunlight.

"It is rightfully yours of course. You can keep it, I don't want it back," he said, unlocking the magical case. It had Malfoy engraved on the blade and emeralds set at the end with one large emerald at the center. It was a heavy broadsword, flashy but deadly. It was meant to deter enemies from attacking but when put to the test, it backed up it's deadly promise very well.

"You did pay for it, I don't want to just take it," Draco looked to the older man who still looked so young.

"No, no, I can't keep something that has been in your esteemed family for so long. It would be as if my father had sold off our winery or the Zabini Chalice. They have been in our family for as long as the Zabini line existed, it would be wrong of me to keep it," he said, handing over the sword. Draco slowly wrapped his hand around the sword just as Hermione grabbed his arm in warning. Before they knew it they were being transported somewhere else, the sword being a portkey.

~~~~~!!!~~~~~~
"So you've come at last," Lucius murmured as Draco and Hermione appeared before him.
"I should have known you would pull something," Draco growled, shoving Hermione behind him as he dropped the fake sword and pulled out Hellbind.
"I was surprised when I heard that you were gathering my weapons against me. That you actually thought you could defeat me. I am your father, I have more of the ancient true Vampyr blood than you do. I have everything except for an heir, except for you and it kills me to know that you would rather be a good guy, a weak, insignificant peon to those mortals than a God," Lucius stood up from his chair and walked towards his only son. They had landed in a stone floor room with no windows and only one heavy door.
"Absolute power corrupts absolutely. You're deluded and crazy, beyond reason and beyond conscious. You are nothing," Draco ground out.
"Oh really? Then why do I have this?" Lucius pulled Ragnarok from his belt and held it up for Draco's inspection, Malfoy was blazoned down the blood channel, the emeralds glowed with power and it was huge.
"Because you got to it first," Draco answered.
"Because I'm better than you and I always will be," Lucius ground out.
"You forgot one thing, Lucius," the one door opened and in walked Shacklebolt and his his brother, Kingsley.
"What are you two doing here?" Lucius hissed.
"I'm not about to die because of you," Kingsley hissed, pulling out his wand.
"And what are you going to do? Kill me with that puny little stick?" Lucius mocked, turning to them.
"You underestimate your opponents," Kingsley growled as Draco swiftly stepped forward and grabbed Ragnarok, the blade slicing into his hand as he wrenched it from his father's hand. Lucius was too shocked by what Draco had done to hold on to the sword tightly. Kingsley and his brother both flicked their wands, yelling curses at they older Malfoy who crumpled to the ground. Both green flashes weakening the half vampire extremely.
"Kill him," Draco held Hellbind out to the younger brother who graciously accepted the shortsword and plunged it deep into Lucius' heart, silencing the Dark Angelus forever. Because of the bloodtie, only those within the tie can kill the vampyr in order to live past them. It is the same is true in reverse or if natural causes claim the mortal. Draco watched his father turned to ash then looked up at the Shacklebolt brothers.
"You deserve that more than I do," Draco gestured to Hellbind.
"Thank you son, we won't forget you," Kingsley held out his hand to Draco who shook it. They then turned and walked out of the room. Hermione appeared next to him and he looked over at her.
"So it's over, all over...what are you going to do now?" Hermione asked, Draco shrugged.
"I'm not really sure. There's still more of the Blood Clan out there and my father massed a bunch of minions. I think it's time for me to continue on with my father's work. Even though in the end he was evil, he started out good and I would like to live on with that memory of him," Draco smiled down on Hermione who smiled back.
"I think you're right," she murmured, they then walked out, closing the door on Lucius' ashes forever.
