Chapter 14 : I'll run away
When Seena woke up, she was at the sick room. She saw Hermione sleeping next to her, her head laying at the end of the bed. She stared at the girl for a long moment and finally couldn’t hold a sigh.
“I’m sorry...” She whispered very low. Reluctantly, she closed her eyes and chanted the spell that would take her away from Hogwarts.
Hermione’s eyes opened wide as she awoke with a jolt. The first thing she noticed was the empty bed in front oh her.
“Seena?” She called, but no one answered. She looked around the room, in vain. The young girl plunged her face in her hand.
“She’s gone...” A voice behind her said with sadness. Hermione turned around with an incredulous look on her face.
“What do you mean ‘she’s gone?”
“She left a few hours ago. With her own Disapparating wiccan spell.”
“How do you know? Did she leave a message? Did she told you?” Hermione’s voice was betraying her anger. The old wizard looked at her with compassion.
“I’m sorry Miss Granger. I felt her magick and tried to block it, but you know Seena’s not someone we can keep under control.” Hermione nodded and thought about the events of the previous day. She remembered her girlfriend’s black orbs, her violence, her words, and it gave her shivers.
“Is there a way we could find her?” She asked, but she already knew the answer. Dumbledore sat beside her.
“Miss Granger, I know how deep are the feelings you have for Miss Tariyo. I also know that you saved us all from the worst thanks to these feelings. I think that they will bring her back to you, no matter what the reasons of Seena’s departure are. I’m actually convinced that she will find her way back to you.” The Headmaster smiled. Hermione felt a wet trail on her cheek and tried to hold her tears back.
“I think Mr Potter and Weasley would be crossed to see you sad.” Dumbledore said with a cheering tone and handed a tissue to the girl.
“Thank you, Sir.” Dumbledore nodded with a smile.
“Take care of yourself Miss Granger.” He said before leaving the room. Hermione stood up and began walking through the castle. She was supposed to be in class, but for the first time in her life, studies were the last thing in her mind. She found herself under an oak. It used to be hers and Seena’s spot. The girl sat against the trunk and cried. Her gaze fell on the grass, on the exact spot where she had grown a wild rose, thanks to Seena’s help. She remembered her words.
‘Everything on Earth is connected, from the mountains and the sky to human beings and plants. We’re all linked through the fact that we are...’
“We’re all connected...” Hermione whispered. “We are...” Suddenly, something hit her mind. “We are connected!” She exclaimed and put her hand on the grass. She thought very hard about the flower and it appeared a few seconds later.
“You know, there are no official spells, or whatever you’d call it to practice wiccan magick. The thing is, it’s all spiritual.” Seena had told her once, under that same tree. “You could say “Car” or “French Fries”, as long as you feel the magick inside you and you really know what you want, it works. I just find it more funny to give names to the different things I want.”
“How do you do that?” Hermione had asked her with curiosity.
“I just forget everything, and think about what I want the most. With time, it doesn’t need as much concentration. But you must keep that thought all through the spell, you must remain balanced and focused, or things might turn bad.”
Hermione took a moment to think about that conversation.
“What I want the most...well it’s pretty obvious! But how can I be sure it will work?” Hermione wondered. “Maybe I should try to vanish to the bedroom, first.” The girl frowned. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes and focused hard on her bedroom.
“Bedroom! Bedroom! Bedroom!” She kept chanting. But nothing happened. Hermione spent the two following hours trying hard to vanish, in vain. When the night came, she made her way to the Gryffindor common room, sat in front of the fireplace and cried silently. What she didn’t know was that about 5000 miles away, Seena was crying too.
