Back Again
Chapter 14... Back Again
Draco held out his hand to help him stand up. Harry hadn't realized that he'd sat so long his legs had fallen asleep. They went weak and he would have landed on his bum if Draco hadn't grabbed him about the waist to steaded him.
Who cared if the blonde's hands lingered longer than was strictly necessary or that their bodies were flush up against each other. ‘Whew, when did it get so hot out here?' He thought.
"So are we done here or what?" Draco asked as he slowly pulled away.
Harry was a little dazed by the time he let go but managed to answered the question anyway. "Yeah we're done."
"Good. Can we leave now? Or will they stop us?" Harry was momentarily confused at this question, but following Draco's gaze he saw that the snakes were still clustered around them, although the ranks were beginning to thin.
"Can you show us the way out?" Harry hissed at the same snake that had addressed him earlier.
"Of course. Follow me." It replied, and the two boys followed, soon finding themselves standing at the edge of the forest.
Harry hissed a small goodbye to the snake and he and Draco hurried back up to the castle, tugging the cloak tighter over their shoulders so as not to be seen. Before they reached the entrance, Harry had pulled out the Marauder's map and opened it away from Draco. Simply because they were on better terms it didn't mean that he was ready to show the other boy one of his most treasured possessions.
When he had assured himself that the coast was clear, he and Draco hurried back to their corridor and Harry's rooms. Draco immediately threw off the cloak and flopped onto Harry's bed, something that Harry had noticed was becoming quite the habit of his.
"Why do you like my bed so much Malfoy?" He asked, curious for once.
"It's comfier than mine." Draco replied blandly. Harry frowned and turned to unpacking the items he'd brought with him. Thankfully he hadn't needed to resort to the chunks of meat, so instead he walked over to Rabbit and began feeding him pieces.
"So, are you going to tell me what that plant said to you?"
"Why would you want to know?" Harry answered defensively.
"Because I can't speak parseltongue, and because that beast did something weird and froze me." Draco sneered grumpily.
"No, I mean what would it have to do with you?" Harry retorted.
"Listen Potter, I didn't follow you into that forest to get my kicks all right?"
"Oh, so you were just watching so you could pass information on to Voldemort?" Harry said bitterly. Draco just groaned.
"Don't be so bloody dense Potter. I'm interested is all." He paused eying Harry curiously. "Why do you think I'd pass information on to the Dark Lord anyway?"
"You said you're going to serve him yourself. Why wouldn't you?"
"Things change... Besides, you're more interesting alive, keeping the school on its toes with your mad life and death situations." Draco teased. Harry simply sighed in response.
"You really want to know?"
"Yes."
"Fine. But I'm casting a silence and privacy spell first." Harry said, doing just that. "If you tell anyone I'll make sure you don't see another sunrise. It all started off with this…"

Well there you go another chapter and a note for those who had a question.
Lilith - What you think people are the only ones who gossip? *LOL* If you'll look back there is a part where that says "I spread the word of the tales between the plants, in their magic so that you could be found." (Mia)
Weasley Wench - Not long now.
Night the Storyteller - Wait and see. In a future chapter you will get your answer.
