When Worlds Collide
Summery: Hermione is being targeted by an evil that hasn’t set foot on earth in over a thousand years. Now, she must be protected. What happens when she and her protector fall in love? R/R
Chapter 13
February passed into March. Hermione continued learning and training with Anakin, but now, Obi-Wan and Mace joined them. The three Jedi Masters sensed that the Force was growing stronger and stronger with Hermione.
“Very good Hermione.” Mace smiled as Hermione helped him up from the floor.
“Thank you Master Windu.” Hermione said.
“You are a faster learner than even Anakin. It took him over a year before he was able to beat Master Windu in a duel.” Obi-Wan chuckled.
“There was that whole year and a half where things were to confusing to me Obi-Wan.” Anakin added with a smile.
The four all laughed. Hermione and Anakin shared a quick look before they returned to their training. Obi-Wan saw the look but held his tongue. Since he had been there, he had seen several of those looks. If he didn’t know better, he would swear they were the looks that lovers would share.

“What did you two want to talk about?” Severus asked as he sat in his arm chair in his study.
“Well, we wanted to ask your advise about something.” Harry said.
Severus took a sip of his tea and nodded for Harry and Draco to continue. Draco took a deep breath then began speaking.
“Severus, Hermione’s not the only one here whose a descendant of Jedi Knights.” Draco sighed nervously.
“What are you two saying?” Severus asked, sitting up a little straighter.
“Draco and I are as well.” Harry said.
Severus just stared at the two. He couldn’t believe it. His godson and Harry were Jedi descendants. He stood up and walked over to the fireplace. Harry and Draco looked at each other and then back at Severus.
“Severus, what do we do? Should we tell Hermione and the Jedi Masters or keep quiet about it?” Harry asked desperately.
“Just…give me a moment here. This is a huge bombshell for me. You two just blurt this out and expect me to just take it.” Severus said as he plopped back into his chair.
“Severus, we’re sorry to just dump this on you, but Harry and I both feel that this war is going to change a lot of people’s lives. Hermione, Anakin, You, Ron, the Jedi Order. Everything.” Draco insisted as he stood up and began pacing.
“What do you mean?” Severus asked, his interest peaked.
“You see, we know about Hermione and Anakin being in love. We also know that it’s forbidden. However, whenever we are around them, it just feels so right. It’s as if despite him being a Jedi, they were born to love each other.” Draco explained.
“I’ve felt it too.” Severus whispered.
“Sir, are you sure you’re not a Jedi descendant?” Harry asked.
Severus just stared at the dark haired wizard.

A week later, Hermione and Anakin had finally been able to steal some time away to be alone. Hermione made her way to the trees that brushed the edge of the lake. Anakin stood there waiting.
“Anakin.” She breathed.
Anakin spun around. Hermione ran to him and threw her arms around him. Their lips met instantly. Anakin held her close as they kissed. It had been nearly a month since they had made love and weeks since they had been able to be alone. When Mace and Obi-Wan arrived, Albus enlarged Anakin’s room and they moved in with him.
“God I’ve missed that.” Hermione sighed as they came apart for air.
“As have I. I wish we had more time to be together.” Anakin gasped sadly.
Hermione laid her head against his chest, while Anakin just held her. They turned and walked hand-in-hand to the lake and sat on a fallen tree branch. They watched the wind blow ripples across the water.
“Have you been having any weird feelings?” Hermione asked.
“How so?” Anakin questioned.
“I don’t know. These are different than the ones you, myself, Obi-Wan, and Mace share. I feel, scared. But it’s not my feelings. I feel as if things are coming to an end and I want to run. Run to the furthest reaches of the galaxy.” She explained.
“Hmm. What else do you feel?” He questioned.
“I feel anger as well, as if someone or something has failed me. I want to destroy everything I see.” She answered as she shivered.
Anakin pulled her close. “I think you may be picking up on either Palpatine or Voldemort’s feelings. There’s even a slim chance you’re picking up on both of them.”
“But I thought it was hard to read the Dark Side. That’s what Mace told me.” She questioned as she frowned.
“It is love, but remember, you are a member of the strongest Jedi family ever to be born. It seems as if you are fully accepting your powers.” He said.
“I don’t want to be a Jedi! I just want to be with you! That’s all I want!” She cried as she jumped to her feet.
“Sshh. I know, I know Hermione. That’s all I want as well. I would gladly give up being a Jedi just so you and I could be together, but you would never let me do that.” He said soothingly as he pulled her into his arms.
Hermione began crying. She felt more confused than ever. Anakin could only hold her as he felt her fear, confusion, and love all rolled together. Both were so wrapped up in each other, they never sensed or saw the figure in the shadows.

Obi-Wan hid behind a tree and watched the couple. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing and what he heard. Anakin had broken the rules and fallen in love. He started to leave, but something stopped him. He studied the couple and reached out with the Force. What he felt, shocked him.
“They’re soul-mates? How can this be?” Obi-Wan whispered.
Anakin and Hermione turned and headed back toward the castle. Now alone, Obi-Wan stepped out from his hiding place. He was starting to understand his feelings about everything he had been taught about the Jedi was about to change. These feelings were coming form the love between Anakin and Hermione. Obi-Wan turned and he too returned to the castle. He would wait before he spoke to Anakin and Hermione about this.
